We had VITB do both the packing and the unpacking and am I glad! The last time I had unpacking done was with an international van line. They just ripped open the boxes and scattered things everywhere. This was a totally different experience. Everything was placed back exactly where it should be. I hired Limor and her team for a short-notice and long distance move from Vancouver to Winnipeg. I had used a packing service once before (offered by the moving company) for my move from Winnipeg to Vancouver, and was keen to use one again (it had saved me so much time and stress). I was interested to try Limor's service, as I saw that Frogboxes were an option (which I prefer tremendously over the hassle of cardboard boxes), and because of the great Yelp reviews that spoke about her detail-oriented approach to packing (whereas the moving company I had worked with previously had seemed to just box things up randomly and without organization). Limor was easily reachable via phone and email, and arranged a time for a quote promptly. The quote process was detailed but quick. It was evident that Limor had a lot of experience packing up people's homes. Limor also arranged for the Frogboxes, which were delivered the morning that packing was scheduled to begin. Her team arrived right on time (there were 5 of them, though that included Limor and a new hire that she was training that day, so I suspect that normally there are fewer people). The team was very professional, friendly, and polite. We started with a quick walkthrough making note of anything that wasn't to be packed, and then they got to work. Once it became clear that they were on top of everything, I was able to leave and run some last-minute moving errands (I had zero worries leaving my apartment under the care of the team). The team finished packing up my large, 2-bedroom apartment (including about a million books and textbooks) in about 3 hours - something that would have taken me several days to accomplish on my own. Another bonus of their packing service is that you're covered if something breaks during the move (which of course doesn't happen if you pack things yourself). When I unpacked my boxes a few weeks later in Winnipeg, the detail that went into the packing was clear. TV and stereo cords had been labelled to easily identify which cord went where; bookshelves and dresser drawers had each been numbered with corresponding labels on moving boxes; and delicate items had been bubble wrapped instead of wrapped in newsprint. Everything, including my large wine glass collection, arrived unbroken. Overall, I was really happy with Limor's service, and appreciated that she was quick to reply to emails throughout the process. While Vancouver in the Box isn't cheap, I thought it was fairly priced, and money well spent. I would not hesitate to recommend them! read more

I had lived in my tiny 1 bedroom apt for 30 years and love my 'things'. I thought I could do the packing and had movers coming on the Monday. I had lots of boxes and was packing "slowly". We hired Vancouver in the Box at short notice - when I emailed, Limor immediately arranged to come over the next morning, review our condo and what we wanted done, and provide a quote. She checked in the day before that we were ready to go, arrived on time, and her team of two friendly, smart and efficient packers got to work (Limor supervised, left and then came back to help). They did an excellent job, packed up a small but extremely well-stocked 2brm in just over 5 hours, taking care with fragile items, flat screen TV, glassware, providing helpful suggestions and many supplies I didn't have (I'd managed to get all the boxes off CL but VITB provided the packing paper, tape, etc at a cost). I had to leave early in the process, and came back later to 50+ boxes (with key slipped under the door), what a wonderful service :) Limor gave me a quote and honoured it, even though they went a little over time (I knew that our place was deceptively full!). A few odds and ends like some spice bottles and trivia were left behind but just a minute to throw into a box and we were literally ready to move. We are over the moon that we committed to the cost of hiring packers, and that we used Vancouver in the Box: we had to move during the week and having VITB come the day before the movers arrived meant that we didn't have to spend the weekend or take time off work to pack, let alone stress about it, or be prepared to live with packed things for days/weeks - so it was very easy to rationalise as well as budget the cost. Moving sucks, but if you focus on stuff only YOU can do and let this company pack, you will be a leg up in life! Let them put your stuff wrapped carefully in BungoBoxes and cardboard, label strategically, pack your art and TVs. You focus on getting rid of crap and catching up all your errands, sewing, drycleaning, electronics recycling, office catchup, address changes, tax and travel, hey, maybe even fit in that workout/yoga/kids' shopping, ie stuff only you can do and outsource stuff they will do better than you! Maybe you are like me and are too old to have friends helping you pack your crap. Let their uniformed, courteous, trustworthy, patient but quick staff methodically tackle your packing. Moving is a tiring and stressful experience. Especially for people who work full time and don't have the luxury of taking their time. I couldn't stand the the thought of having to do it over the course of a few evenings. And that's where Limor and her team came in. They arrived on time and were extremely nice and polite. I was required to do a quick walk through before they began (to make sure they knew where everything was and mark items that I didn't want them to pack) and after they were done (to make sure everything I wanted to be packed was packed). And that's it. Literally. They didn't need anything from me and didn't bother me with questions. In fact, they were so quiet that I was able to work pretty much the entire time they were there. They finished packing the entire apartment (1 bedroom) in less than 2 hours. All of the boxes were labeled, so we knew what's where, and because they knew we would be moving the boxes ourselves, they made sure to pack in a way so no box was overly heavy.
