I have been seeing Vandana since May. She was highly recommended from my endocrinologist. Vandana has two programs; I chose the Intuitive Eating program. I have been learning to stop the "old tapes" in my head and develop new strategies and POSITIVE ways of thinking about food. "Diet" is no longer in my vocabulary and I am learning not to judge my food choices NOR myself. This is huge! What Vandana is teaching - the practice, exercise and lessons - have crossed over into other areas of my life. This is becoming a LIFE CHANGING experience, not just about food. I am not! :) Wondering about her rates? She does accept health insurance so depending on yours and the diagnosis, you could be pleasantly surprised. Wondering if you will definitely lose a lot of weight? There is no guarantee (for anything in life). However, if you don't lose a bunch of weight, you are not a failure. If you don't lose it quickly, you are not a failure. This is not a quick fix. I haven't found that those work anyway which is why I am here. But honestly, this is for YOU and YOU are worth it. YOU deserve it. Your body deserves it. I personally believe it's natural to lose weight when you start paying attention to your thoughts and your choices. Vandana is not just a dietitian, she is a well being coach who helped by son transform his mindset of eating for a long term. Working each session through short term goals for my preteen son, she provided me with resources with a healthy balance between our traditional home menu and his diet requirements, taste and cravings aligned with the goals. After some life changing events and realizing that I wanted to live a healthier life, I was lucky enough to have met Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Vandana Sheth. One or my biggest challenges was understanding what I should be eating, how often and the benefits of certain foods. Two years ago at my yearly physical, I had very high triglyceride levels and poor cholesterol numbers. My doctor said if we did not get this under control, heart disease and pancreatitis were serious issues that could result. I asked to first try dietary changes and exercise before starting medication. He gave me 6 months to see if I could improve my numbers. He also gave me a sheet of generic advice on treating the conditions with diet. The sheet was written for a typical omnivore diet. I am a vegetarian so much of the advice (like eat less red meat) did not apply to me. So I searched for a nutritionist who was familiar with vegetarian diets. At the first meeting, she quickly and professionally assessed my situation and was able to provide helpful guidance in diet and vegetarian Omega 3 alternatives. In six months of following her recommendations as well as increasing my daily exercise (and attending WW workshops), my numbers had come down enough that my doctor encouraged me to continue with my diet and exercise plan. In two follow-up visits, she recommended a few other diet suggestions and answered a few questions that had come up. After one year I had lost over 15 lbs and my numbers were continuing to improve. Two years out, all my numbers are normal. Vandana Sheth's guidance was an important factor in improving my health. Without it I would have not had a practical dietary advice to support my health goals. I have just completed 3 months program with Vandana Sheth . I am into fitness from a long time and thought I know a lot about diet and fitness and still was unable to reduce stubborn fat .
