I'm sitting in a parking lot waiting for my prescriptions and decided to review immediately because this office was just that great! I was a walk in client and still got in very quickly. They were up front with pricing so I knew exactly what the cost was to me before being called back. They were able to give me x-rays and a breathing treatment on the spot, and gave me treatment options without being pushy and without it seeming like they were getting money from a pharmaceutical company for selling certain brands. The doctor was willing to discuss my concerns about the prescriptions and never made me feel like I was annoying or out of line. He even printed coupons for my prescriptions when I asked about lowest cost pharmacies. I'm very happy with my experience here, and will likely return for primary care needs.

About 10 days ago I experienced the most intense throat and ear pain of my life…read more To save time, I walked in to the Little Clinic at Green Hills Kroger. Upon promptly collecting my co-pay and closely examining my ability to pay, the Nurse Practitioner Amy started her examination. She had a good idea that it was allergies as everyone has them right not, but she agreed to take a swab for Strep. After poking me very quickly somewhere in my mouth (defiantly not where my pain was). I was confused and specifically asked Amy, "Did you get that already?", to which she replied, "Oh yeah, that should work". Needless to say my preliminary test came out negative for Strep, but I was prescribed an anti-biotic and a bunch of allergy meds. Three days later, I stared feeling better. Then I got a phone call from Ali, another Nurse practitioner at the clinic. She said that my lab processed came back negative for Strep and it is most likely allergies and I need to stop taking my anti-biotic. I never heard of stopping of anti-biotic once it has been started, but I am not healthcare provider so I complied. Three days later after stopping my anti-biotic, I am once again faced with the most intense throat and ear pain on my life. Because I was desperate I went back to the same Little Clinic. Ali, the person who told me to stop the meds, was the nurse practitioner who was seeing patients that day. After once again promptly collecting my co-pay and closely examining my insurance we were back in the room. My symptoms and presentation, this time with a 101 something fever, got Amy to take a swab test on my throat. To her credit, she really got into in, as she screwed her swab across the very back most painful part of my throat. Five minutes later it was confirmed by the quick test that I had Strep. I am 100% confident that I have now had it for 8 days. Upon sharing my frustration with being misdiagnosed I asked what was the plan of action. Ali suggested another anti-biotic and some ear drops. I was so desperate I was going to take anything as my pain was so intense. I was very concern with not finishing my anti-biotic and strep bacteria becoming resistant to the antibiotic. I asked for Ali to see if there is a test to determine sensitivity or resistance. She did not know the answer, so she called her supervising physician. I am so glad she did. The supervising physician suggested a different family of the anti-biotic, as I am most likely was now resistant to penicillin based meds. Great. I am almost home free. Ali was very nice and put up with my complaints and frustration of having strep around my three children for 8 days, one is which is only 7 months old. I can't even begin to imagine the pain it would cause a little guy. Upon check out I reviewed my patients instructions. My new anti-biotic was not on the list. She prescribed Augmentin (penicillin based product) and no ear drops. She did not pay attention. She did not verify. I asked her why the list was not updated. She was flustered and said "I am sorry I made a mistake, can I have the list back?", I said, 'No, I want to have a record of your office continuous mistakes and incompetence". She updated my list with tears in her eyes based on what we discussed previously and went on my way. There were other example of incompetence, inaccurate information, inability to look at individuals vs making everyone an allergy patient. I used to be a big fan of nurse practitioners, but some of the programs must not deliver the caliber of people that need to be in medicine. It probably has to to with lack of training or poor hiring practices by the The Little Clinic. I am done venting.

The Doctor proceeds to tell me "We don't write presriciptions for antibiotics, We only give out antibiotics if you have Pneumonia, Brocnhitis or strep". Any idiot knows you're supposed to take antibiotics so you don't get the aforementioned. Big Surprise I would need to take X-Rays and series of other unnecessary expensive tests. This is my 3rd experience with Vanderbilt acting in an unethical money grabbing manner. I did get a second and third opinion as I had never heard anything so stupid. A proper reputable medical professional who gave me the prescriptions I needed was appalled at was a told by the clowns at Vanderbilt and confirmed they were just scamming me to spend money. Vanderbilt = Money over peoples health. I do have an onset of Pneumonia and Vanderbilt was not willing to help until I was sick rather than treating the infection I already have to prevent it from escalating. Unbelievable. I'm sure they will send my insurance company a $400.00 bill. I won't get into the details here, but I had the same experience attempting to secure a primary care provider at Vanderbilt. I went in healthy simply to meet the doctor and was coerced into spending money on tests I didn't need. I told them I had just had that panel of blood work done and knew I was not in any danger. After tests came up confirming this, they still tried to blow smoke up my rear end and convince me that I needed their help and monitoring. Everything they told me was out of alignment with the medical specialist I was seeing and in fact not scientifically sound. Stay away from these facilities . The most overrate name in medical! I'm sure government and Pharma funded judging by the amount of misinformation, fear mongering and bullying. Advocate for your own health, today these medical offices are no better than used car sales stores and shady auto mechanics. Buyer Beware
