DISHONEST AND UNTRUSTWORTHY:…read more The owner was not forthcoming and honest when I spoke with her about coming to her studio. I had told her that I was interested in coming to her studio for a specific brand of hair color, and I also asked if she would wear a mask. Since she agreed to wear a mask, and she offered the hair color I wanted, so I became her client and have seen her three times. She did not follow through on both areas. She emailed all of her clients a few weeks ago and said she was dropping all of her products and was going with a one product instead. She did not explain why or what was in the product, etc. I figured I'd give it a try since my hair appointment was in a few weeks, and she was very particular about the products she used. I had my appointment scheduled for today. She emailed me a couple of days ago to make sure I had received her email about changing products. I told her I was still planning on coming and would like to hear more about the product, why she chose it, etc. when I came to see her to have my hair done. She then proceeded to provide reasons why she chose to change, which included that she had started to transition prior to the pandemic and waited because of the ammonia in the product and masking (she said it's problematic with the ammonia). She had not said anything about this previously. She had not said anything about mask issues prior to this, or that the new product contained ammonia. Again, this is TWO days before my appointment. When I said that I'd be wearing a mask and would like her to, she said she wasn't going to. She left it up to me about whether or not I wanted to continue with her. I replied that I found a solution that would work (she did not have to do anything or wear a mask). She then informed me this morning (hours before my appointment) that she couldn't accomodate my needs, etc. There were no negative exchanges between us, but she decided that it wouldn't work. I find her behavior to be dishonest and disconcerting. When she took me on as a client, she knew she was going to transition out of my hair color and not wear masks, but did not tell me. She also said she would wear a mask but reneged on that promise. She waited to the last minute to essentially communicate HER concerns about me coming with her new use of the product. I was flexible to accomodate my needs with these new changes; she was not. I have my birthday next week and planned concerts to attend, etc.. She left me hanging in a BIG way. Her treatment of me was very unprofessional. Warning: she is not trustworthy and is unprofessional in handling important issues. I recommend going somehere else.

Dawn also does a shellac manicure using shellac nail polish that is harder, stronger, and more resistant to peeling and chipping than any other polish. Judy's also offers feather hair extensions and I hear will soon be offering eye lash extensions and crybaby semi-permanent mascara. This place has the edge on all of the newest trends in beauty services.

I went here once, and that was one time too many unfortunately. I was looking to get highlights for…read morethe first time, but my previous dye job was red, and fading so I knew it was most likely going to need to be striped first anyway. We got there fairly early in the day, 10 or 11, and the woman I saw (who I will not name) said it should be a few hours tops, but yes we would have to strip the hair...no big deal, I expected it. So far, so good. I watched this hair stylist work on a variety of older women while my hair processed here and there with whatever procedure we would be up to and for those women, they came out with a great blow out and cut - so there is potential here for the woman who is looking to go in for a weekly hair appointment as many of these women did with her. After I finished processing she got me all washed out and did my cut. I do not know what kind of butchery she was performing on my hair, as this was no experience I have ever felt before. But however she was going about layering my hair physically brought tears to my eyes it was that painful. I have never had a problem like this before, and it wasn't that my hair had knots that needed to be worked out after all the chemical work - I just have no idea what she was doing! Well after this torture was finished, she blow dried my hair and showed me the finished product and asked me how I liked my highlights. Well.......I couldn't tell there were any highlights in my hair at all. Then she gave me the mirror and told me to step outside because she tried to keep them subtle and natural so you could only really see it in the natural light....ok........ So, I followed her and went outside to check it out......I still can't see these wonderful highlights she was raving about. Well apparently we were looking at 2 different sets of hair because she thought it looked wonderful, and me - not so much. She had asked me if I liked it and I said I didn't really care for it because I couldn't even tell it was highlighted....clearly she was choosing to ignore my response because there was nothing said back to me regarding this. Well, it was now 4pm....I had wasted my entire day there and getting this unnoticeable hair job cost over $150 when all was said and done between the "highlights", striping the old color and haircut, and whatever else she did to me that day. I have had my hair highlighted since having it done here, and it while it still has looked subtle and natural - at least you could tell I did it at all. I mean really, if I wanted my hair to look the same as it always does and have no one be able to tell I highlighted it - I would just not spend my money, leave my hair as is, and tell people I had it high-lighted, cause that's basically how this went. Maybe she does a great job, maybe it was an off day, maybe you could say a lot of things about this horrendous experience I had here - but there were too many things that went wrong, and no acknowledgement on her part when I voiced that I clearly did not like the outcome of a hair style I ended up paying a lot of money for.
