I went to Vanity Studios after purchasing a voucher outside Westfield in Shepherds Bush. The voucher was discounted for me and my cousin at a reasonable price, since we're both students. We'd never been to a photoshoot so didn't know what to expect and found things awkward at first, but the staff were really welcoming, constantly checking up on us which eased our nerves. The make up and hair was great - the artists gave good advice on what looks good and what doesn't. The nails were done ok - I know they're not professional nail artists, but I could have done it myself and got the same result. The photographer we had was really upbeat and enthusiastic which made the experience a lot more fun than I expected. He knew what angles looked good and didn't make us do any cheesy poses. I would have liked to seen some pictures while he was taking them because I know what side looks good on me and what pose is more flattering, but it didn't bother me too much. The viewing session went great - my cousin and I were both happy with the way the pictures turned out, but we would've liked more pictures to choose from. To buy more pictures did cost more than I expected, but again, we explained that we were students with a limited budget so we were able to compromise. We arrived in the morning, had a nice warm welcome and a bit of a run down of how it all works, can't say I'm an expert in this area! Was pretty nervous before hand as I absolutely HATE having photos taken but the lady who greeted us said we would get directed in every picture! This was good news! We then had our hair, make up and nails done. Charlotte loved her curls, glittery varnish and lip gloss, can't say my husband did! It's a little bit boring for the gents in the first part of the day as it's mostly pampering! He went off for a stroll and had a little hair and powdering just before we went through to the fitting rooms. The most dreaded part was the photo shoot but our photographer was a dream! He made it fun and engaging for our little one and took some great images, some with her laughing with cream cake all around her face but they looked brilliant. I have to say we did break the bank a little when it came to looking at shots; there were just too many good ones! The viewing itself was so relaxed and there was no pressure involved. This was a worry of mine when booking the appointment as I'd read quite the opposite but fortunately didn't have that experience myself. All in all a great way to commemorate my little lady's first trip to London! I'll embarrass her with the cake shots when she's 16! read more

I have to say having read other reviews on this site and google, I was rather dubious about going to Vanity Studios. I bought a voucher on my lunch break from a very persistent chap who made me laugh so I said I'd buy it just to get rid of him! I even phoned to express concerns I had and a lovely lady pointed out that the vast majority of reviews were positive and I should give it a go! so glad we did! Immediately on arrival a super friendly lady greeted us and went through what was about to happen, I'm not exactly the photogenic/ model type so this was definitely useful! we sat and had a little much needed bucks fizz before going into make up. I don't wear make up and one of the ladies at the studio had humongous dark brows, I had to point out this was not me! the make up artist assured me that I would not be getting those. She did a lovely job and when the hair stylist put a wave in my poker straight hair, my friend said they'd knocked 10 years off me! The photo session was what we were most terrified of but it was great fun. The photographer was brilliant and made it a pleasant experience. We got some great photos and I'm planning on going back with my mum for her 70th! Highly recommend! read more

I had my first full length professional shots taken at Vanity Studios a couple of days ago. I really enjoyed the experience, and am pleased i chose to have my shots taken there. The girls in hair and makeup listened well to what i was after, and everyone was very attentive to my needs. The photographer Patrick, was great, he helped to give lots of poses and suggestions, though i struggled to hear him sometimes through the mumbling! Unfortunately it was towards the end of the shoot that i was slightly disappointed, i finished up and had to sit and wait an hour for 2 people in front of me to finish selecting and buying their photos, but once in the room i was immediately impressed with the quality of all of the photos. The prices of the photos individually however, definitely shocked me and i felt very pressured and pushed to buy lots of photos, even though i stated i don't earn barely any money. I still left spending way more than i had expected. Luckily i am pleased with all of the shots taken and the ones i have chosen, however just feel it should be a bit clearer from the start the prices that you will be expected/pushed to pay at the end of your session. read more

I bought a voucher near Oxford circus for my friend and I to attend vanity studios. We arrived at 2pm and the staff were very friendly and professional. There were quite a few people there as well as us but we were well attended to. The hair and make up was good, not too over the top or impossible to envisage myself as that person. I loved my hair although the nail polish application wasn't great but the hairdresser did it as an aside. Both hair and make up artists were friendly and listened to my choices and preferences. The photographer was also very attentive and took loads of shots. He really put us both at ease and we were very relaxed. The only downside was the cost of the pictures and the hard sell to purchase more than the free one included. Considering the pictures are on disk they are very expensive albeit the more you buy the cheaper they become but £50 minimum per digital image is still a lot! I loved the pictures taken though so did buy some as didn't want to not have them. They were really flattering. It was a great afternoon out and we had a lot of fun. read more

Thank you Vanity Studios! My Daughter and I were stopped on Reading High Street and I wasn't looking for this type of experience at all. They guy who sold me the voucher was really nice and made it sound special so my 9 year old and I decided to go for it. We had plans to go to London in the next few weeks anyway so why not!! The experience itself was very nice, all the staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome. I've done this type of thing before and was put under a lot of pressure at the end to buy pictures so was dreading that part to be honest. The photographer was excellent and when we reviewed the photos at the end I was really pleasantly surprised at how well he'd captured us both. Its a bit cramped in the waiting area and the changing rooms could do with a spruce up but the pictures were amazing and the sales pitch at the end was absolutely fine. I was supported really well and only bought what I wanted to pay for - no pressure at all. All in all we had a lovely day together. read more

Vanity Studios fulfilled every wish on my dream list - and more. Every single person I met went out of their way to make my experience a memorable one. Everyone I encountered was professional, attentive and could not have been kinder. If you are looking predominantly for a day of cheap pampering, then don't go to a photographic studio - you are better off going for a spa day. I came specifically for the professional photography. Having said that, I also really loved how the girls at hair and make-up interpreted my desires, adding their own creative flair. Experiencing a professional photographic shoot has been on my dream list for a very long time. I could not have been more delighted with the results. The photos, taken by Patrick, exceeded all my wildest expectations. Ladies - and gentlemen - it is never too late to fulfil your dreams. We enjoyed a visit to vanity studios today and both myself and my mother were incredibly impressed by the hard working staff, from the manicure we received to the hair and make up ladies, we felt totally pampered and would certainly recommend the experience to others. The photographer, Bernardo was excellent and made us feel totally at ease. We didn't go with the intention of purchasing a large number of photos and although they were keen for us to select more, we were happy with the few we selected and didn't feel pressured to spend more than we were comfortable with. I would be happy to recommend Vanity Studios to anyone either looking for a day of pampering or as an opportunity for more professional photographs to develop a portfolio. read more

Great experience at Vanity Studios! After getting a voucher with a friend, we went on a sunday morning to have our hair, manicure and make-up done for the photo shooting. The make-up was very professional and I received good advice on what would fit best with my four outfits. We had our pictures taken separately but we also had a chance to snap some pictures together which was very fun. The photographer was great, he was very confident, prepared good settings and gave great advice on how to pose. In the end we knew we only had one picture for free, but seeing the final result, there were so many that were great, that we decided to purchase a 5 more! Not recommended. We went to vanity to celebrate a friends birthday and it was a nightmare! I have been to so many such studios in the past years and I have to say this was my worst experience . The deal was supposed to include canapés and bubbly. But we we're not offered any until we asked for it even after asking we only got wine and no canapés.Thankfully me and my friends had grabbed a quick bite before we got there .The hair stylist did not know what she was doing and The lady responsible for the viewing was outright rude and pushy.The quality of the photos were ok. They charge extra for retouching which is not specified when you book it. Vanity studios totally ruined my friends Birthday. read more

Took my three kids to the studio having been approached in the street offering a promotion. I wasn't keen to take up the offer thinking it would be fairly mundane, but my middle daughter who was with me at the time, persuaded me! I went along still slightly sceptical about how the day would go, but have to admit we had tremendous fun. Everyone at Vanity Studios was lovely and the kids had a great afternoon. It was a tremendous boost in confidence for them as the photographer managed to capture some photos that made them feel really good about themselves. I have two girls, 15 and 13 and a boy aged 10 and they all equally enjoyed it. read more

I've been there a couple of days ago for a photoshoot with a friend. Since the moment we arrived all the staff has been really kind and friendly! They offered us wine and snacks and the make up and hair artists did a wonderful job!! That was the kind of look we were aiming to! It was perfect! The photographer was brilliant and enthusiastic and we felt it so comfortable (it was the first time for both of us, so we were both excited and embarassed!). He has been professional but friendly! I am extremely happy with the photos I got from the photo shooting at Vanity Studios! All the staff were very professional in their respective field - they made my hair and make-up exactly fitting to my personality and the photographer was not only very charming and pleasant to work with, but also made great photos. The time passed very quickly, I only spent roughly 3 hours at the studios and came out with very nice results. There is a good atmosphere at the studio and I wasn't pressured into buying photos. Went with my mum as a bit of a treat to ourselves and we had a lovely time. Both of us were a bit apprehensive but were instantly made to feel welcome by Rosie and the hair and makeup girls were all wonderful. We had Bernardo do our photo shoot and he instantly made us feel at ease and we were overall really happy with the photos. Would definitely recommend to anyone who's never had a photo shoot before as is a great way to give it a go. We did end up spending more than intended, proof of how happy we were. read more

I went with a friend to Vanity Studio and we had so much fun during the photoshoot. We had bought the voucher two months ago and booked a Sunday to go there. The staff was very friendly, specially the photographer. He made us feel very comfortable and was very good at directing us. The pictures looked classy and elegant, just what I wanted. I went to Vanity Studios with my friend after receiving invitation -free of charge. We both wanted to have a good time and we were not disappointed. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, drinks have been offered. The photographer was fantastic.
