so the plague of 2020 closed the track in Concord which mostly stunk even though I was just a…read morecasual visitor but I was kinda digging the whole racing thing and then "POOF!" no more racing :-( found the Race Center on Yelp a very long hour from home and while my lovely bride was away on business I found time to run down here and squander some resources! for a modest fee rental cars are available to race (crash?!) on your choice of tracks occasions and scheduled events notwithstanding... and if you want a more consistent experience cars are available for purchase in the full service pro shop. this can get really spendy in a hurry, even more so than bowling or golf, but it's faster and smaller and cars... lots of options here including a tiny oval commemorating a local hero, a flat track to show off your driving skills, a high bank tri-oval, some straight line racing and other fun!! stop in and have a lock for yourself, it's just like you remember but bigger and faster. one thing that would be way handy is if there were a couple alternate plug-ins around the larger layouts to reduce the walk for casual drivers getting back on track...

The shop is small and the owner was very nice and welcoming. The store has a row of glass cases with more valuable cards displaced and then several selves along the wall with some box sets. There is a variety of card types (baseball, soccer, D&D, etc.) and a variety of price points. One thing they have that I absolutely love about card shops are the "grab bags". I don't know of anyone that has really "hit a grand slam" with these bags but the mystery of what could be and at a great price point.

The owner's son referred to him using a racial slur and called him "boy." When the customer's mother stepped in to ask reasonable questions about the lowball offer they were given, the owner's son repeatedly belittled and yelled at her. It escalated further when the owner's son made a threatening gesture -- grabbing himself and stepping toward the back door in an aggressive manner, as if looking for a physical confrontation. He also told the customer, "You want my money," in a demeaning way. This entire scene played out in front of a store full of people. Several bystanders, including myself, stepped in to help the man with his collection, and we all left together. This business should not be trusted. I've also personally witnessed them quote one price and then lowball with another. The behavior was racist, threatening, and completely unprofessional. I would give zero stars if I could. Do not shop here.

Too cluttered with junk wax recently and there are hardly ever any new packs or boxes to buy…read moreanymore. I think there were maybe 5 options for buying loose packs...all of which were overpriced. Not sure how a hobby store can get by with such a minimal selection long-term. The new middle section loaded with 90s cards kind of kills a lot of the openness the shop had as well, and it is hard to move around. There seems to be more of an emphasis on singles than in the past. I used to spend $2-3K a year here, and got to know many of the regulars who always came in to buy packs or sealed boxes. The thrill of the chase was what kept us coming back...if we wanted singles, we'd go to eBay and pick them up. Until this changes, I won't be back. I came here once or twice a month before the ownership change, and loved Bob and Linda. It feels less like a family store now, and more like a business. What a shame.
