At a time when almost all therapists refused to see patients in-person during the early months of the pandemic, Kristen was so accommodating to provide both in-person and virtual sessions, whichever worked better for our family any time our daughter needed therapy. She always came up with bright ideas to address any concerns we had with our defiant child, and always made sure to follow up with us to assure we were making progress with regards to the treatment for that concern. I was a patient of Dr Patel for too many years while I was in high school and into college. Throughout our time together, I felt judged, disregarded, and received a significant lack of care. I never received any warnings about possible drug interactions with my anxiety medication which resulted in a life threatening situation that took weeks to recover from. I wish she cared enough to educate me before continuing to carelessly prescribe and rake in the money. That's all it felt like. This was my first experience with a psychiatrist, so I unfortunately had nothing to compare it to at the time. Years have passed and now I'm being treated by someone who so clearly cares about my well-being and gives me support beyond the simple prescription refills. What a stark difference.
