I feel inclined to leave a review years after having been a patient to hopefully help others know…read moreto stay away. I was a patient of Dr Patel for too many years while I was in high school and into college. Throughout our time together, I felt judged, disregarded, and received a significant lack of care. I never received any warnings about possible drug interactions with my anxiety medication which resulted in a life threatening situation that took weeks to recover from. I wish she cared enough to educate me before continuing to carelessly prescribe and rake in the money. That's all it felt like. This was my first experience with a psychiatrist, so I unfortunately had nothing to compare it to at the time. Years have passed and now I'm being treated by someone who so clearly cares about my well-being and gives me support beyond the simple prescription refills. What a stark difference. I would never suggest having a friend or family member seek treatment from Dr. Patel, there's so much better out there. There was zero heart in this office.

I feel awful that my parents are paying $500 a month for me to be on caplyta (which I'm sure you…read moreget nice kickbacks for). This is a medication I wanted to go off of. However, my mom urged me to do it safely. When she called Gretchen (your receptionist) - Gretchen had a horrible attitude. Saying I missed my last appointment, which btw you scheduled incorrectly and it was supposed to be virtual and I tried to call and correct that. She then let my mom know that we would have to pay $50 and when my mom declined because, again it wasn't my fault, Gretchen told her that she would be terminating me as a patient. This is completely unsafe and unprofessional. My mom pleaded with her to have one last appointment to get a refill to hold me over while I found another psychiatrist. Gretchen then told her that she was enabling me and I would have to call myself. She then proceeded to tell my mom that I'm not taking my care seriously. This is shocking to hear. I've been in therapy for 6 years straight, I take all my meds, I am committed to my mental health ? Are you committed to being a provider? Why did your employee give unsolicited parenting advice knowing little to no information? You want my and essentially my parents to pay $500 a month for a medication you are getting kick backs for, and then you're going to tell my mom that she is enabling me by making an appointment for me? I urge you to remember why you chose this career, and let you know that you failed me. I truly hope you rethink who you hire, because when I called other places they were appalled at how your staff spoke out of turn to my mother. I have a great support system with my family, how dare she tell my mom that she is enabling me. She is supporting me. I hope you make changes to your practice, but I will not be silent on how my care was handled.
