The food is home -cooked meals. You can request your favorite foods. You can even order food and pay a reasonable price if you want to eat with your loved one. The staff are highly educated and very compassionate. In my book there is no other place that offers the care and concern that " We Care" provides.

Please don't put your family here ! It's all a nightmarish facade . BUT.....Once he was there, the nightmare began ....The pharmacist of the facility whom I believe is the owner or a partner/founder, showed up only once to check our father for signs of the dying process . ( except on intake of course) The pastor they said was on staff, came back only once more and then we were on our own . We NEVER saw a doctor and had to constantly beg them to help him with his pain and do something else other than check his feet for signs of death . Just AWFUL! Our father had Parkinson's Disease and at one point we had to demand a care plan meeting where we had to BEG some so-called doctor who NEVER showed his face and was on his cell phone from his car, to give our father his Parkinson's medication. He had begun to suffer with severe muscle cramps and rigidity and would moan with pain . It was a living hell for him and was so painful for us to see him suffering . Their intake staff told us upon arrival that his Parkinson's medication would be continued from the nursing home he had been in, to alleviate his symptoms ; but, they were negligent and did not AND even worse , the head nurse said they were giving it to him, but another nurse said they had never received the order to do so! We had taken care of him for years and were very familiar with what happened to his poor body when he didn't get his Parkinson's medication and knew something was wrong . Thank God we were there. That type of neglect and lying alone is enough to sue them ! Our father also had an abdominal feeding tube when he arrived because his swallow had failed . He also had dementia along with his Parkinson's , which caused him to rip the tube right out of his stomach , soon after arriving there. Rather than taking him to the hospital to repair it and minimize his pain or ask us if that was what we wanted to do, a nurse patched it back in with hand sewn stitches and THEN called us about it . In taking the nurse's advice when we arrived that day, we didn't ask them to call an ambulance and have a real doctor re-insert the tube because it would be too traumatic to move him again and take him off of hospice care . In hind sight , we should have done just that . This patched in tube only hastened the inevitable pneumosis infection that spread to his lungs and made his passing even more painful . ( Hospice Care?????) At one point while I was spending the night, there was a power failure when a storm came through and the one nurse on staff was nowhere to be found! So, I laid there in the dark with my father as he struggled to breathe and heard sirens and loud boom boxes blasting outside . This is a traumatic experience that you never forget . . ( Peaceful and safe????) I'm not saying they didn't have a generator ; but , it took some time for any power to come on and I'll never forget trying to find someone to help us ! It was terrible ! For two weeks, my sister and I listened over and over to the aids and nurses tell us what to look for as our father became nearer and nearer to death and how they would know he was within hours of passing, only to have him pass away alone and without us when we left briefly to go eat dinner, take showers and come right back . I can't describe how awful that was ! What I want to share with ALL of you is that you need to be prepared to STAY there with your loved one and continue to advocate for their rights if you choose this facility . YOU and your loved one have every right to question ANY and all qualifications and treatments and PLEASE be proactive or you will learn that their definition of palliative / hospice care is PASSIVE care ! Finally .... to add insult to injury , when we asked for the documentation ( we had full medical POA) about when he died, the one intake administrator said she did not have it and would call and try to get it for us ...but to this day refuses to give us anything ! My opinion from experience is STAY AWAY and I'm so saddened by reading the reviews of the many other families that have had this very sane experience .
