He is competent, patient, and teaches everything needed to excel in the quantitative section in a methodical manner. My GMAT score is a testament to Bob's instruction. I began the process of studying in Feb 2017 and scored a 480 on my first practice test after being out of college for 6 years. I wasted my money on a Princeton review course and I wasted my time trying to master the tricks and gimmicks in the course. While it's true these methods will help improve one's score, I found that despite my greatest efforts I couldn't crack the 620 mark on any of the practice tests. I started working with Bob in May 2017. I scored a 740 in late Jun 2017 because Bob made me smarter (it's really that simple)- letting go of the Princeton review and working with Bob turned out to be one of the best decisions I made with regards to my future. If you choose to work with Bob, I recommend 2-3 days per week. Be humble and let him teach you everything you need in order to excel in the Quant section. Most importantly, spend time everyday practicing and reviewing the concepts visited in each class. I didn't use him for Verbal, but I imagine he applies the same structure to his verbal sessions.

The private tutoring with Bob was a supplement to my already extensive GMAT practice. I had been studying for a few months prior to my initial meeting with Bob. I came to him with specific problem areas and with only 6 weeks until my exam, asked that we focus our time accordingly. He did not adhere to my request. Additionally, he would say things like "wow I'm surprised you got that one correct" or (4 days before my exam) "you're taking a practice exam on Monday right? Not the real exam. YOU ARE NOT READY." For someone who is hired to be an educator, the aforementioned quotes are obviously off putting. During the time I did spend with Bob, he was constantly answering texts & phone calls. His phone was on ringer and would go off 10-15 times during a 2 hour period. His attention was NOT undivided. Good luck to all those studying. UPDATE 9/16 - Although Bob and I did not align well, he did make amends by offering financial compensation for the time spent, as well as other resources that may be useful to me in my studies.

I then set my goal inside of the course at 720, as that is around the score average for the programs I am trying to get in to. Low and behold, my official GMAT score was a 720, with a breakdown of Q48, V41, AWA 6.0, IR 6! Admittedly, I did not do the IR lesson, otherwise I probably would have scored higher on that section. What I really appreciated about the On-Demand Course was that it taught all of the basics, which are covered in the Skillbuilder sections, then built strategy on top of those skills. I didn't have to worry if there was some skill that I was missing because all of the skills that are needed to do well on the test are covered. The Lesson sections provide a strategy for each problem type and also detail the ways that the test makers try to "trick" you (the test makers more try to misdirect you). These aspects are crucial to understand in order to maximize your chances at achieving a top score. Another aspect about the course that I enjoyed are the instructors. Lissette and Brian are fantastic instructors and they make the lessons enjoyable. Brian's stand-up comedy background is definitely noticeable, as he is hilarious. I am more than happy with my purchase. If I had to do it all over again, I would get the On-Demand course without hesitation. Thanks, Veritas Prep!

They leaned all their weight against the babies when washing their faces in the sink (which can injure their organs), lifted them by one arm (which can dislocate their shoulder), grabbed them aggressively, shoved food in their mouths aggressively, made them stay in their cribs for several hours, yelled at them for wanting to get up or for crying, swaddled them when that's against the law in daycare, and spent a lot of time texting & talking on their phones instead of watching the babies. The Lead Teacher in the Toddler Room was very impatient & squeezed their shoulders when they didn't obey, instead of using redirection. I explained these things to the director, but she said, "It's going to be a lot of work to replace those teachers." I later asked her what she was going to do about the incidents & she said her lawyer told her not to talk to me about it, so I reported the incidents to Child Care Licensing. They visited the school, but weren't able to do anything because I didn't have pictures or videos. I asked the director to install cameras, but she said no. Something must be done to bring awareness to the parents. Those lead teachers are still there & the director doesn't want to make the effort to replace them.

The company engages in deceptive practices by selling customers the largest package available without clearly disclosing that the hours expire within 12 months. I personally experienced this when I purchased a 30-hour package, assuming it would cover my two kids' needs throughout their four years of high school. However, when I checked my balance for the upcoming year, it showed zero hours remaining. Upon reaching out to them, I received the attached email stating that my $1400 was forfeited because 23.45 hours had expired. If the salesman had informed me about the expiration policy, I would never have purchased such a large package, knowing that I would lose $1400 in the process (I hope the salesman enjoyed his fraudulent commission check). I attempted to address the issue with corporate, but they remained unresponsive until I reached out to them on their Facebook page. Their response referred to the terms regarding my refund request, and they provided the following statement: "Individual Purchase hours may be redeemed up to one year from the date of purchase." However, this statement cleverly avoids explicitly mentioning that the hours expire. The company deliberately uses deceptive language, counting on most customers to overlook this detail while reading through the terms. Nowhere in the contract does it explicitly state that the hours will expire after 12 months. Consequently, I am currently out $1400, having paid for a service that I did not receive. This situation appears to constitute fraud and will be addressed accordingly. read more

I have been using Varsity for the last several months since my son has been needing to prepare of the ISEE exam. I was hesitant at first but after hearing good things from family members I decided to take the risk and pay for the tutoring package. I was pleased at how easy it was for them to find a great tutor that was open and willing to work around our schedule. If our schedule changed she would adjust and we communicated well on our personal cell phones. I have had such a great experience with our tutor that I recommended her and Varsity to 2 of my son's friends at school. They too are receiving tutoring with Varsity and her specifically. I'm glad we started tutoring months in advance and I am also thankful for the online sample tests that are available online. The combination of both online and one on one tutoring have been making a huge difference in my son's confidence and overall performance. I am also happy to learn that they will be giving my son credit hours for the referrals I have made. This saves us a lot of money! read more

Our high school sophomore was having a hard time with her Math (Algebra II / Geometry) studies at the start of the fall semester. There was talk she would be dropped from the Honors program if she did not get her grades up. She really needed to shore up her foundational understanding of the material from last year and get caught up on the new material. We had used VT for the ISEE training for both our children. We are happy to report that the tutor paired with our daughter, Anna, performed above our hopes.They met weekly and additional sessions before tests. The grades came up ( 100 on the final test of the semester) enough that she was in no danger of being dropped. She received the second highest grade in the class on the first test in Spring semester. However, the grades are not even the best part. Her confidence and character are the real wins here. Anna has been patient but firm and reminded our daughter that not only could she do the work but she could excel! read more

"When I initially contacted Varsity Tutors, I was very skeptical. "Is this a legitimate outfit, or some type of scam?" This is the question I had to ask myself, because let's face it, these days you can never be too careful. I would recommend Varsity Tutors to ANY one who is having challenges academically. My granddaughter was having a very hard time with chemistry and geometry. She was failing both subjects. She is now passing both subjects! My Granddaughter received an "82" on her last Chemistry test and actually participates in class because she understands the material now. Varsity Tutors had the key to unlock my granddaughters understanding and confidence in her work. I'm sad that the highest rating is only 5 stars. I would give this institution 10 stars if I could. I am extremely impressed with Varsity Tutors! The staff is very helpful. A real person actually answers the phone when you call!! They work hard to connect you with a tutor for your student's specific needs/class/topic, and they do it quickly. My son had a Varsity Tutor for Organic Chemistry and did great! My other son needed help writing an essay on The Great Gatsby and that was very helpful. The tutors are very professional and knowledgeable. We recently were searching for a tutor for Business Calculus for our son. He had taken it twice & failed both times. For the 3rd go round we decided to get a tutor for him for the entire course- start to finish. Varsity matched our son with an EXCELLENT tutor , David , who worked very well with Ryan! He was able to help Ryan each week with the homework to make sure that he understood what was being covered in class & he helped Ryan study for exams. I contacted Varsity in regards to summer tutoring for my 8 year old son, who is diagnosed with high functioning autism aka Asperger's. I liked the idea of one-on-one, at home tutoring and I found their prices to be reasonable. They set us up with Dr. Nancy, who specializes in autistic children. Everyone at DIS cares about our daughter; from her teachers and the teachers assistants that are with her everyday, to the receptionist that greets her daily - "Bonjour!"
