We luckily found an ice cream cart close by and were able enjoy it during our stroll. There are so many different kind of birds here - ducks, geese, swans, pelicans, and many other types. Wonderful grounds, pathways, landscaping, flowers, lake and bridge to explore. It's London's oldest royal park and well maintained.

This park was a very belated discovery for me despite living only 20 minutes away from it. It has a basketball court, children playgrounds, trails, table tennis tables, cycling track, large swathes of green to pick a spot on and benches everywhere. Literally everything you could want and need in a neighbourhood park! I easily spent half a day here on my own. There are a good mix of people there. I spotted a range from groups of mothers with prams to large groups of teenagers setting up picnics. Great atmosphere even on a Monday morning. If you live in the area, I strongly recommend you check out this park especially now that the sun is coming out!

Bernie Spain Gardens is a gorgeous little haven on the Southbank, it's between the Oxo Tower and Gabriel's Wharf. This park really comes to life in the summer time when the Southbank's workers and visitors descend upon the park to bask in the sun. The park also hosts the Coin Street Festival in the summer as well. London's got so many parks but if you are shopping along the Southbank, this place is a great little rest stop. Just off the Southbank, not many people realise it's there and so it doesn't get the tourist footfall that the main river path does. Come the winter it's a nice spot for a walk during my lunch hour. Oh and I had opportunity to check-in here recently due to it being the congregation point for my office during a fire evacuation. Not a bad spot for it, I must say.

As a resident of the Waterloo area, I sometimes miss seeing things that are green.... you know…read more.. leprechauns, emeralds, and the most important of all... grass! Oh grass. In a world of apartments, there's not much of that around. That said, this little park near Waterloo is nature at your doorstep. Granted it's a Thumblelina sized park, but it's there! So close. I like to go out there on a nice day and read a book on the large grassy knoll that is the park. Sometimes I forget to read though looking at the young couples in love, *sigh* nuzzling in the nature and the occasional homeless guy warming his feet in the sun. Really, it's not a super park, but the point of the matter is, it's the one of the only earthly places near Waterloo. So by process of impossible elimination, this park is great. I love it like I love sparkly shoes. A lot.

The gardens are within walking distance from Trafalgar Square towards the River Thames (via Northumberland Ave) or the Hungerford or Jubilee Bridges that cross the River Thames. It is just one of the gardens that form the Victoria Embankment Gardens, which were created in 1864 following Sir Joseph Bazalgette's embankment of the Thames. The building that faces the garden provides an architectural backdrop that transports you to the French countryside. This Grade-l listed building is reminiscent of a French Chateau Many people promenade alone or in pairs, or jog, or sit and relax. Neighboring the River Thames and Victoria Embankment Gardens, Whitehall Garden is yet another testimony to London's interesting and magnificent culture. It is the ideal place to relax and enjoy both the incredible monuments and the colorful, blooming flowers.

Formerly The Spring Gardens but recently renovated and renamed in honour of the famous 18th Century…read morepleasure gardens painted by Canaletto and visited by the likes of Casanova which once dominated this area, this is a lovely green space in an otherwise slightly grimy corner of South London. From the huge new illuminated entrance gate by the RVT to the improved landscaping and horse-riding area this park has been massively improved by an excellent scheme brought about with local residents working in cooperation with the council. Add to it the all-weather sports pitch and nearby city farm and this is great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the Vauxhall Cross Gyratory. Plus the infamous grassy knoll, behind the RVT, is a great place for a drink on a warm evening.

I got to walk this place along with the tower bridge for morning and evenings. February was still cold and rainy in London so the park was pretty empty. The views are great. A perfect spot for a picnic lunch or just some time away from the hustle of the work life. According to the sign in the park, the garden was acquired by the church of St. John the Evangelist, Smith Square, for the use as a cemetery and was consecrated in July 1731. Interestingly, there used to be quite a bit of grave-robbing here for bodies to be used for dissection. The sign doesn't seem to indicate what happened to the graves since then. So try not to think about that while you're eating lunch, mmkay?

Woah! This park has it all! Also known as St Mark's Park…read more(after the street on which is located) Kensington memorial is brilliant and the perfect place for kids and adult to go crazy. This park has been recently refurbished and I am very happy because its like 10 mins away from mine. It is wheelchair accessible, has a adventure playground with colourful apparatus+ sand box, a larger play area for older children with space rockets climbing frames etc and a large water park that is an absolute blessing on these hot, hot day! And the best part?! It is all free!! There is also a small shop(open during the summer months) that sells hot/cold snacks and chairs and tables you can eat at. Lots of toilets, grass, shade etc. It also includes tennis courts, football, junior cricket classes and One O'clock club which is managed by Family and Children's Services. The park was opened in 1926 in memoriam to those who fell in the Great War.

We walked from the London Eye to Southbank Centre for a late lunch one afternoon last month, and…read moreour path went right through Jubilee Gardens, a vibrant landscaped public park. Our kids pointed at ice cream trucks and a merry-go-round, and it took some effort to keep them on track so we could feed them actual food. We had no set plans after lunch and decided to indulge them by going back into Jubilee Gardens. We started with a ride on the carousel, which cost £4 a ticket, and required a paying adult to ride with small children. It was, at least, a pretty fun carousel, classic horses painted in extremely bright colors, and what felt like unusually high speeds. Our boys then wanted ice cream, and we took a little walking survey of the options on offer. There was a paleta stand that actually looked good, but one of our kids will only eat ice cream with chocolate. We ended up back toward the London Eye, where there were two very similar carts selling standard ice cream bars and slushies. Our six-year-old got a classic Magnum bar, while our three-year-old insisted on a blue slushie. It was a hot day and he had his shirt unbuttoned, and he walked around Jubilee Gardens sipping on that blue drink. A regular boardwalk dirtbag. The park was full of interesting sights, not least of them the Thames and the London Eye, which overlooked it all. We stayed on the promenade, but it was obvious even there that the landscaping was well done. Lots of space to walk along the river, with tons of shade from a line of tall trees. There were several street performers out doing their thing. Living statues, dance crews, singers with acoustic guitars. We apparently missed an enormous playground, but we got plenty of entertainment in the riverfront section of the park. My boys had a blast at Jubilee Gardens, and we'd all love to go back.
