I don't even know where to begin! As I started researching and visiting venues I found myself starting to feel overwhelmed with options, requirements/rules, pricing, and what seemed like an ever increasing budget. Honestly, I had never heard of Vecoma, but kept running across it on sites. At the time their website wasn't as developed as now so I wasn't quite sure. I had narrowed down and visited 5 other venues, had huge packets of info that made my head spin, and just felt like maybe I should elope when I sent an inquiry to Vecoma. Caroline instantly responded with a general quote (WOW!! maybe I COULD do this) and invited me for a visit. They have open houses on Saturday mornings, and I highly recommend that you go because if you have visited any other venue you will instantly see the differences. There is no pressure, you aren't locked into a time frame, you are free to walk the grounds, look at previous wedding books, talk to staff, all so low key and no stress! You can price out items, look at menus, and simply be relaxed. Not only is the venue stunning and has multiple options in terms of ceremony and reception, what truly make the venue is the staff. On my Saturday tour, it was the staff that helped me solidify my choice in less than 30 minutes, something I had agonized over for months! In terms of pricing - you can make any budget work here! It is clear cut, nothing hidden, easily explained, you know up front what you are dealing with and if you want to add or change things they are completely fluid. They have payment plans that are easy, manageable, and take a huge stress away! They have incredible menu choices with customization and multiple bar options, all with the best pricing and I guarantee you will not find better full bar pricing anywhere in Atlanta! I purchased a full bar and they even included 2 complimentary passed hors d'ourves. The other thing you will find is that they do not nickel and dime you to death, there is no charge for turning on the twinkle lights, you can use their mirrors, votives, fishbowls, wood centerpieces and anything else that is considered a "house item" FREE of charge. They give you the freedom to express yourself in decorations, you can use your own vendors, friends for setup, and you get to bring your own cakes with NO cutting fee! I had 4 cakes and 5 pies, 9 total and NO EXTRA CHARGE. They even provided the cutting utensils and sliced and served! It is the little things here, the level of personal service, the relaxed atmosphere, the freedom to be yourself that make it truly stand apart. The other thing is you don't have just ONE person who helps you. There is literally an army! Caroline is simply Wonderwoman and from managing the venue to being the best photographer and is so down to earth, she will make all worries disappear! Caitlin, Judith, Cathy, all answered tons of questions, quickly responded to emails, and made being a bride EASY. On the day of we didn't realize ALL of the staff come together to help you set up, put out decorations, find a bandaid, help with wardrobe malfunctions, I was amazed! The food was simply incredible! We didn't make it to a tasting, but I trusted reviews and it was impeccable, best chefs, and people are still commenting on it, including the most picky eaters. I had everything from true southerners who must have their pork and potatoes, to friends that were vegan and halaal and all were happy. DJ/photography - they have both in-house if you choose and the prices can't be beat! Caroline's pics you can see online and DJ Kirk makes it a breeze and you can pick all of your own songs or he will help if needed. All included in your invoicing! Because we had saved so much money we even opted to do videography through DJ Kirk as well. Other things - We worried about the fickle November weather, the staff were reassuring that we could change as needed. We were able to do on the deck and had heaters in case, then inside for the reception. The bridal party was running late, not a problem, Caroline started pictures with the boys to give the girls time to catch up! They make sure you eat and have your food already waiting for you while you tend to all the people and excitement. My Husband and I had the wedding of our dreams here at Vecoma at the yellow river. It was something out of a fairy tale. The service was exceptional and we had such a blast with our family and friends. It was such a special and magical day I'll never forget. We had a great time at a wedding here this winter. The bar and buffet were outside, so the rest of the wedding festivities were not obstructed. The vibe was cute and cabin cozy with tulle overhangs, so even the most simple of decor could make the whole place pop beautifully. Yes if it wasn't for this beautiful place and their wonderful staff, my sons wedding would have been a disaster. I had this LLC company owned by Chontay, Santio Smith. Artist wedding decorator, who did not come through at all she sent some random people who she claimed work for her to drop off not even close to half the decorations that we needed for the wedding. She did not decorate the balcony. She did not decorate the altar. She did not decorate the isles hell she did not decorate the sweetheart table. She didn't decorate the tables fully after paying her at 1200 bucks, what she asked for and saying that that would take care of everything and that it would be really nice and I wouldn't have a problem at all. She lied so NO ONE ever use this company by Chontay Artis, weddingsbydesign , because she would take your money and run, very unprofessional. She didn't even call to check up on us to see if everything went well. Because she knew she was wrong. You try to Trust black owned companies , but I'm sorry I never will again. A staff member expressed his opinion on how it should be instead of being accommodating to the customer. Vecoma is a hidden gem located right on the beautiful Yellow River. Nestled among pine, oak, sweetgum, and other native Georgia trees, it makes for a great backdrop for photos. Vecoma is an elegant, intimate setting for parties, weddings and receptions, banquets, company picnics, dances, or almost any event. It seats 150 people inside. I came here for a wedding, it was in August on a Friday evening so you know it was hot!!! I liked the backdrop and aesthetics but a summer outdoor wedding in Georgia is treacherous. The reception was indoors with A/C so that was a welcomed change from the sweltering heat outside. The venue provided their own catered food, buffet style. There was a nice salad, a meat lasagna, I vegetarian lasagna which appeared nice, I went for the meat. There was a penne pasta as well and garlic bread. I wouldn't call it ideal wedding food but it was palatable. There was an open bar with well drinks, the pours were heavy which was appreciated. The DJ played every line dance song ever written! The only downside is they kicked everyone out promptly at the 3 Hour mark. No ifs ands or buts about it! There is ample parking as well. read more

My wedding came out nice but it wasn't great. What my husband and I paid for we didn't received. So the cocktail hour was planned to be on the patio which not set up with no tables or decor. When I asked the staff why isn't the guest on the patio and why isn't set up. She said "well they can but they have to inside to go outside. " (I was taking photos inside) But two staircases outside that they enter the patio. (which is the same staff member I been having issues with the beginning ) my husband and I was inside taking photos. My guests standing outside in front of the building which did not look good at all. In the bridal suite which really need a lot of update furniture and decor. My bridesmaids and I didn't gave any snacks or drinks which I was told I will receive. Just water was there. So from the beginning we told the staff member what all we wanted so about 2 weeks before the wedding I visit venue for the last time make sure it was enough space for the Photo Booth and table layout. So for before months we are thinking we have plated style wedding (because that we told the staff member) until I went to there 2 weeks before the wedding. The whole time she had buffet style so we had to pay more money for the plated style. Some of my guest said the dinner napkins had a fishy oder. I mention that to them and we never got back to us about why it smelled like that. But I will say the one guy so was working there was very nice to us and try his best to make sure we was good. We got married at the vecoma in April and it was PERFECT. A hidden gem In Snellville 6 miles from stone mountain park and the prices are all inclusive and VERY affordable. Well Less than 20k for over 100 people with an open bar photography and dj and they have excellent reviews. I still get compliments about my venue and the food. I highly HIGHLY recommend them. Great family owned venue. You can purchase additional time if you want more than 3 hours we purchased and additional 1/2 hour and believe it or not 3.5 hours is the perfect amout of time. read more

Beautiful venue, natural doesn't need much to make a brides special day amazing. Staff is very courteous and their packages are very reasonable....if you want a 3 hour rental for your entire wedding and reception. I was happy with Vecoma and was ready to book and pay for my date until I realized I was gonna pay a crap load of money for a 3 hour rental! My best friend got married here. It was amazing. They take care of the ins and outs of your wedding with all your special touches. The menu was absolutely delicious, and we felt at home with the banquet hall all to ourselves. I can't say enough great things about this venue, the owner and the staff! We got married here in August last year. Caroline the owner is an absolute angel. She was so helpful and patient throughout the whole planning stage and we also used her as our photographer and the photos are stunning. The venue is beautiful and doesn't need much to make it pretty. Not only was it affordable- they were also the most laid back venue, which swayed our decision. You can book additional hours to have your party go late into the night, which was a big deal for us as many other venues closed by 11pm. With them we got to party until 2am. They also let me bring my own decor, desserts & cake at no charge and even some Nigerian dishes to add to their buffet- which they served. The food was delicious and plenty! Other venues wanted to charge for all that. On the day they had a lovely team who were so helpful with setting up. And when we sat down for the reception, the manager thoughtfully brought us hot food and champagne to the sweetheart table, ensuring that we got to eat. I've been to weddings before where the staff were not friendly and it really brings down the mood. They made all our guests feel welcome and comfortable and they took the stress out of the day. I was married and had my reception at Vecoma. Everyone is still bragging about the venue and the services that we received. It was an awesome experience. This was our second wedding so we just wanted to enjoy it and our family and friends. We were able to relax and do just that. The food was awesome and the DJ was the best. I recently booked Vecoma as my venue for my rustic romantic spring wedding. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, perfectly suited for the nature lover! From both the ceremony and reception spots you can hear the yellow river. The greenery is gorgeous and well kept. Was a guest at a wedding here. Wasn't the worst, and admittedly my perception may be colored by what the bride and groom chose and paid for, but I was not impressed. Actual ceremony was standing room only and they ran out of tables for the reception. Not great to attempt to eat standing up. Buffet was middling. Chicken was dry, beef was rugged, potatoes were instant, and the salad bowls were empty. The open bar was stocked with alcohol of questionable quality, but at least the bartenders were happy to make STRONG drinks. And the wedding organizers did bring out an extra table once they saw how many people were standing, but me and my boyfriend ended up snatching the seats of someone who was leaving because the extra table was instantly full. This might not have been their fault, certain guests may have brought extra people or there may have been extra last minute invites. And, this is a bonus to the bridal party, but the organizers' focus was much more on them and their needs than the guests, so there's that as a plus? And the venue is *stunningly* beautiful, a good small size and intimate. Feels country without being so, and I really loved the outdoor wedding area (ours was indoors) that was right beside the water. I don't mean to sound catty, I really don't. I've been to worse weddings. (Cold Zaxby's, anyone?) And weddings are really expensive, especially the food. That said, if the costs are running high, you can adapt. Don't serve hard liquor at the wedding, beer and wine only. Instead of two meats, just one. Or better yet, the venues can stop requiring in-house catering (I'm assuming they do, I could be completely wrong) and allow outside food. Yes, yes, the food/drink is where they make their money. Personally, I'd be ok paying a fee and being able to bring in the outside stuff that I prefer over serving mediocre stuff to my beloved family and friends. But then I pride myself on being a gracious, lovely hostess, and I feel like well-fed people are adoring people. To each their own.
