Passing through McClean, IL and I never realized I would pass through an Arcade Museum here. You walk in and there are about 4 rooms full of arcade games! That's it! Nothing but arcade games. Couple places to exchange your money, a juke box, and games of every kind! I had fun with the pinball machine and was very excited to test those out. There is also a pinball machine museum across the way, I think the same owners. I couldn't believe it. This day, there wasn't anyone working there, per-say. They are open and left unattended at times. They don't serve any food or drinks, it's just games. Also, come with money. They don't have an ATM there. Nostalgia city is what it feels likes. Games from when I was a kid are side by side. I played pinball and felt as giddy as I did as a young child. This is well kept, clean and tidy, and the games are in great condition.

This arcade is obviously a labor of love for the founder- it shows in the smallest of details of the building and also in the condition of the games themselves. Arcadia recently opened a party room for a maximum of 28 people that can be booked in advance for FREE. All you have to do is call to make a reservation a few days ahead of the event. The management will even open up for parties outside of their normal business hours in certain cases. If you have done any comparison shopping for a party room where you can "carry-in" your own food and beverage (refrigerator/freezer, microwave, and toaster oven available for use during your party) Arcadia's party room is a "yuge" bargain. If you enjoy playing video games or pinball or both, you owe it to yourself and your family to put Arcadia and the companion Pinball Paradise (Just steps away!) on your destination "to do" list.

So fun! This was the perfect place to spend a rainy afternoon. Such a short hop from Bloomington. Amazing nostalgic variety. Love the pinball! Arcade game average $.25 to $.50. Cheap fun!

Went to this arcade recently and was not disappointed! Just catty corner from them is their pinball arcade which is amazing as well! Worth stopping by for a few hours of fun! Went to this arcade on Saturday May 25, 2018. They've expanded and added even more games! This place is a real gem!

    All the pinball machines!

Love this place! We used to live in Bloomington and my nerd husband was so happy when we found this gem. They're typically only open on Saturdays. The game variety is great. I really like the Super Mario pinball. Such a chill environment. I've never seen an employee (or the owner) in the hours I've spent there. Maybe he's incognito? I will note the last time we went (Labor Day weekend 2016), the bathroom looked like only males had been using it for the past year. Please step it up for the lady gamers?

Worth a side trip for sure. You can tell immediately that the games are cared for and the curation of the collection is well thought out. My 9 year old had an equal amount of fun as his old man. As an avid pinball player, the condition of the older machines was commendable; most appeared to have been recently shopped and several played fast as new.

Ask the Community - Vectorman's Arcadia: America's Playable Arcade Museum

Does this arcade have Robotron? It's my dad's all time favorite from his childhood.

Yes, we do. It is in the back room of the main arcade. It is truly a classic, running on all original hardware in original cabinet. Thanks for asking!

Also a healthy dose of pinball, and more modern video games in the racing & shooting variety.

According to the popular song "Route 66" by John Mayer "...it winds from Chicago to LA, more than two thousand miles all the way". 2448 miles or 3,940 KM to be precise. Tourist attractions designed to get a motorist to take a break from their journey (and spend some cash) along "the mother road" or the "main street of America" are scattered here and there among the small towns that are found along Route 66. One of these attractions is the Route 66 Arcade Museum located in the prototypical small town of Atlanta, IL. At the Route 66 Arcade Museum it is possible to misspend your youth all over again; one quarter at a time! The Museum is chock full of vintage pinball and video games from the 1930's-1970's. The Route 66 Arcade Museum is only open during the tourist season April through September. The museum is opened and closed by a third party but is usually open from 9am 4pm in season. The girl at the register just stares at us. So we walk over. No hi, hey, or how you doing. Literally silence. It was pretty awkward. We ordered our tickets. Then she finally speaks after we get our tickets. "Enjoy the movie." Then as we're walking away I hear her say, ""Hi, how are you tonight?" to the next people. Ok. We decided to skip snacks and drinks. Went to our seats. The seats are good but not great. If you didn't know, you can order cooked food now. That's awesome but there's no where to sit your food. I'm guessing you put it in your lap. That's the other downside. I had to smell my neighbors onion rings. Bleh. Not my idea of setting the atmosphere. My last beef is the main reason I won't be going back. I decided I was thirsty. I get in line. The kid at the register looked up at me. I'd say I was third in line. The first person gets there items and leaves. He tells the next lady, he'll be right back. He comes back. Takes her order. Gets her stuff and leaves. He walks away. Doesn't say anything to me. I'm waiting and waiting. I finally look over and this guy is at another register taking someone's order! I was irritated. He knew I was there. I skipped buying a drink. I just wanted to watch my movie and leave. If you want to see how a movie experience like this is supposed go then travel to the CMX at the Mall of America. You can order food AND the seats come with trays to put your food on. The seating is comfortable and not cramped. This location was more concerned with how many recliner seats they can squeeze in. Oh..best part at CMX if you want a drink then you can easily get one. Shocking!
