But the food is, what it all depends on in the end. We were the whole family, and we are very different, and seemingly different at this particular day. But they did it amazingly. I got tapas composed by the chef, the wife got a burger and the kids choked each a 300 gram steak ... It's a good restaurant in an otherwise tourist trap area!

They tend to bring items you didn't order and then add them to your bill. For example, we were given a bread basket that we never asked for--and didn't even eat--but were still charged for it. I didn't want it since I had ordered my own dish, but they brought two portions anyway, even though only one was requested--and we were charged for both. After this happened a couple of times, I checked the reviews and noticed others had similar experiences. Because of that, when it came time for dessert, we declined everything were more assertive and left fairly quickly to avoid being served more items we didn't order. It's unfortunate, because the food and service were genuinely good. But being given items you didn't request and then charged for them really takes away from the experience and significantly lowered my overall rating.

There are other seafood restaurants close by, but this is the best one. The owner, Santo, is a great individual and very pleasant to be around. Our server Ivan, was friendly, personable and very attentive. We went up to the counter and chose the seafood we wanted to have grilled and then sat down at a great table with a fabulous view of the ocean (that's why it is called Vista Mar). In the meantime, we ordered really cold beers, salad platters, an assortment of mojos (sauces) and papas arrugadas (potatoes). The grilled seafood came out and everything was beautifully presented, very well cooked and extremely delicious--what a feast!! At the end of this great dining experience, Ivan brought out our desserts-coconut ice cream in a coconut shell (our favorite). He then brought out cortados (expresso with condensed milk), compliments of the owner--nice touch!
