My already stressful and heartbreaking…read moreexperience of having to reschedule my wedding due to Covid now comes with a painful reminder every time I look at my wedding pictures. I hired Kristin Piteo in late 2019 and scheduled my wedding for November 2020, but I had to move everything 3 weeks prior due to a new Covid curfew imposed by the state of Ohio. My new wedding date was scheduled for May 2021. Kristin informed me that she was unavailable to personally shoot my wedding and would send another photographer in her place, but I would have to pay an additional $324 (on top of the $3,600 + tax already paid) due to her "2021 price increase". She would not refund anything already paid, either, thus forcing us to continue with the contract rather than seek a new photographer since the budgeted funds were already spent. Kristin assured me that the new photographer was of equal caliber and experience as her and I trusted her expertise. It was quickly apparent on my wedding day that the main photographer was not very experienced, evidenced by how few photos she took and her lack of confidence and direction. I have no photos of the groomsmen getting ready, because the 2nd photographer was late arriving to the house. It took a long time to receive my final edited photos, and I got them after the album for a wedding that occurred a couple of weeks after mine were posted to her website. I was immediately disappointed with the quality and quantity of the photos. Kristin tried to blame it on the fact that I didn't download the high res files, but this did not explain why several pictures had mistakes such as eyes closed, etc. It was obvious that Kristin knew the quality was poor when she refused to post any on her company's Instagram page claiming she doesn't post other photographers work, even though this was the work of "Kristin Piteo Photography" per the contract we both signed. When I pushed further, she offered a $500 refund and new filters and also claimed that our wedding party was drunk and difficult to work with, per the photographer she sent in her place. This is impossible considering my church is very conservative and would have refused to marry us. I was so offended and upset by these comments and refusal to take ownership that I never responded. Now I can't look at my pictures without getting upset and can't put any on my wall. I am so happy for the couples whose wedding pictures done by Kristin Piteo Photography came out stunning and artistic, but am heartbroken that mine are so bad, even though I paid the same fees. This review is not about tarnishing anyone's brand or image. It is an honest retelling of my experience. While Kristin claims to treat every wedding with the utmost care and professionalism, mine felt very much like an afterthought and a burden. I understand that vendors need to make a living and I am more than willing to pay a fair price for good work, but we also worked hard for every dollar in our budget, so we felt like we were being taken advantage of when we received neither a partial refund to hire a different photographer, nor an end product that was commensurate with what we paid for. I also felt like there was a lack of sensitivity for what I was going through as a Covid bride, whereas other vendors were far more accommodating and understanding. Of course I would much rather be looking at beautiful wedding photos than to be posting this bad review.

Our wedding was canceled due to the rise in Covid-19 variant cases in Stark County, Ohio which was the location of our event. We asked for a refund. Kristin Piteo's contract states "There shall be NO refund of retainer after signing of agreement due...If the event is cancelled within six months of the date, the client shall pay the balance of the contract...Once a balance is paid, it is NON-REFUNDABLE". All of our wedding vendors except for Kristin fully refunded us due to the uncertain times of Covid-19 despite their contracts stating otherwise. Kristin proceeds to agree to scheduling a shoot with us since she would not refund the $936 deposit, we were extremely excited and grateful since her contract does not state any exchanges of services for deposits. After many months of trying to schedule with her, she was never able to give us a date that she was available despite emailing her on various occasions. My experience with Kristin is that she isn't willing to satisfy paying clients and I wish we would have had a good experience based on her reviews.

Wow! I hired Blitz Studios to create a documentary of my parents' lives and memories. I live in…read moreCalifornia and when I spoke to Matthew via phone, I knew he was the person for the job. In our very first conversation, he had some creative ideas and it just got better from there. He listened carefully to what we were looking for, and continued to make great suggestions even before the video shoot. The video shoot was a several hour activity at my parents' home in northeastern Ohio. Matthew arrived with a complete setup including multiple cameras and microphones, and even a drone to capture aerial footage of their home and yard. After the shoot, Matthew set to work putting it all together. He incorporated photos from their lives and found relevant b-roll to enhance the story. I was completely impressed with the first cut. Over the next couple of weeks, we went through a few revisions until we got to the final video. We absolutely love the video and are thoroughly impressed with Blitz Studios. This is really a 4 3/4 star review!…read more I've only had one wedding photographer, but I'm glad that I chose Melissa! Her photography is brilliant. She uses a variety of filters and effects to create unique pictures that are unlike any other photographer's. Her style is not invasive- she lets you be yourself and captures it on camera. She is also easy to work with. Organized, prompt, and very kind and compassionate. When I had an unexpected delay in payment, she was understanding and never demanding or intimidating. My only small complaint is that I wished she would have given more direction in the photographs and in rounding up the people who needed to be in them. I think she wanted to capture us naturally, but for some of us, it's hard to know what to do in front of a camera and stressful to try to get the right people in the shot. All in all, I recommend Melissa to anyone getting married. She even does portraits, too!
