One of the dumpsters is for Coast Guard use only. The bike path is walking distance. The barrier between you and the water are an obscured walkway and rocks. There is a truck covered with bird poo in front of the ajacent apartments. They teach basic navigation and sailing at a location down the block. This is also located next to UCLA's Marina Aquatic Center. They do patrols, safety checks, and search and rescue. Through one of their websites I just learned that the current threat level is yellow (elevated) instead of orange. You get a view into the open ocean.

I stood in the doorway asking about the front window art and waiting. I was just glared at so I never made it in past the doorway. Nobody tried to explain the foundation at all. Someone ran out to the sidewalk and handed me a flyer that explained the foundation, after I left. Not for profits ARE STILL FOR PROFIT. Why would I want to donate to your foundation when you can't even say hello and tell me a little bit about the cause!? Assholes.

I wanted to fight it, but I guess every picture tells a story, don't it??? So, after googling best times to go here, I threw all caution to the wind and drove over to Santa Monica. I parked a good half mile away to get my steps in and got into the courthouse around 10:15 AM anyway after going through a safety check I was told to walk down the hall and I could go pay it. There was nobody on line and the lovely fellow behind the counter couldn't have been kinder and easier going. Boom done! I cannot believe how Angelenos drive these days... rolling stops ( they don't) and breaking so many laws and regulations including speeding, cutting one another off, left turns from right side of the road... oh I could go on and on... However, I chose to pay and go to Traffic School so I don't get any points on my license. My tip is: don't go first thing in the morning to pay a ticket...wait until after 10a or go early afternoon. There's plenty of parking on the street. The walk will do everybody good if you park a little further away and get your steps in IMHO!!! ;))) I am glad I went for sure! And the experience was great! PS Mondays and Fridays are always more busy vs mid-week!!!

His demeanor was so warm, encouraging, playful, sincere, engaging and supportive, I couldn't help but go up to him and share my thoughts of his powerfully positive energy. We had a wonderful conversation for 5 minutes. I walked away from our talk with a grin from ear-to-ear. This guy IS the REAL DEAL - The CONSUMMATE Professional. Michael. Let's now talk about him... There's a Customer Service gent named Michael who works the Traffic Ticket Window. I visited this Office/Window several weeks prior to my (traffic) Court Date. My experience was great. Michael was patient with me and answered all my silly questions. He provided me with pertinent feedback and made some very helpful suggestions. He was thoughtful, patient and fun to talk to. Nice work Michael! Then there was "The Judge". I wish I had her name. She was a stand-in, covering the regular Judge on Tuesday, 12/30. This lady was witty, fun, high-energy, grounded and just down-right sweet. Although she didn't have a Southern drawl, she certainly had the hospitality of a Woman of the South. I Highly Recommend NOT getting a ticket, but if you have to appear in Court.... ...I would HIGHLY Recommend the Santa Monica Courthouse :) Keep up the fantastic work, ya'll Sincerely,

Ballona Lagoon is a soft-bottomed channel and tidal marsh. It feeds the Venice Canals with water…read morefrom the Maina del Rey channel. After 20-plus years of restoration and refurbishment, the Lagoon is a beautiful, rare habitat for coastal wildlife. We enjoy seeing the native plants including the rare wildflower Orcutt's yellow pincushion, as well as snowy eggrets and other water fowl. The Lagoon is mostly fenced and features viewing platforms and informative signage. Street parking only and no facilities, but it's a short walk from our condo.

My friend, who I'll call Mark, has been a standout citizen with a good job for the better part of that time period. However, after a series car accident led to a litany of unfortunate events after which the loss of his job and ultimate marriage were both direct and indirect results, he is in need of County health insurance-better than none. In any case, this is another one of those reviews where things are what they are. The sheer numbers of people waiting both inside and outside the building or enough to blow your mind. If people don't believe we are in an economic crisis of epic proportions, all they need to do is spend a few hours here, or other locations I'm sure of it. The workers here appear to do the best they can, but quite naturally they are overwhelmed as well. Be prepared to spend half a day in here unless you have an appointment, which thank God he did.

The Venice Canals are a must visit spot if you're visiting Venice, even though you're walking…read morethrough people's neighborhood. It must be a love/hate relationship for the people residing here. It's not really crowded, but there are continuous visitors walking around and taking pictures here. I've walked through on numerous occasions to get to Venice beach. There are beautiful homes that line the canals, and most people have either a row boat or pontoon patio in the water. So far, I have yet to see anyone in the water, but they obviously do use them. I know I would, if I lived here. It's an intricate canal system. The water is shallow, approximately three to four feet deep. There are multiple wooden walkway bridges that go over the water. Ducks hang out on the boats. The water is polluted, so no one's actually in it. It's mind boggling to think that the canals are all manmade. Parking: Plenty of free street parking.

It was in disrepair for nearly 40 years before being refreshed in the 90s so its a nice time to visit now since its been "aged-in" and looks a bit more authentic. The water is refreshed about every 3 days via a dam system so you don't have to worry about the water being too dirty and rancid though I wouldn't' swim in it. On our visit we saw ducks and herons in the water. They are all private residences you can't go into so the main attraction is to just walk around, note some of the bridges have very short walls and you can fall in easily if you are pushed or lose your balance, cars also drive through this neighborhood so be mindful when crossing the bridges.
