I have been a patient of Dr Oostendorp's for a few years. At first, I thought she was engaging and…read morehelpful. However, in the past few years, I have felt gas lighted when asking menopause related questions. The answers are an exaperated laugh and a comment about how everyone faces these things when they age. Yes, some changes are expected, but some are not and many can be managed with help from a doctor. Many are also indicators that some other issue could be going on. I recently have had a severe medical issue. This doctor does not take same day or same week appts., so I had to go to Dr Rogers, who also works there. Dr. Rogers could only tell me to go to the ER if the problem continues...as the issue was occurring at the moment she said that, it kinda fell flat for me. She then told me to collect a paper at check out for more testing. The issue involves a loss of sight and extreme head pain. All of the testing was created with contrast dye, which would kill me and is NOTED AS A SEVERE ALLERGY ON MY CHART! I asked her for other testing and I was told she would fax it when I made the appt, but how do you make an appt for testing when the tests are not determined? I was able to find a helpful scheduling person and made a temporary appt. Dr. Rogers did not follow through with faxing testing to the Trenton facility (I sent a request 4 times and Trenton sent one once.) The office said they faxed it, but Trenton requested it after the date they said they sent it, so obviously, it never arrived. That was 5 days ago and the orders have still not arrived. I spoke with the front desk and the office manager Elizabeth regarding being in pain for 8 days with no help from my doctor and was told that "the world just doesn't revolve around me" and that "I should just go away" She said that "I have too many issues going on" and hungup on me. I called back ad she said that "she was NOT wasting her time on me". She also said to seek my pain meds somewhere elsel. I am floored! I have never been on anything more than Motrin 800s before. Wow! This response is super great when I am having extreme pain and vision distortion. I have never dealt with a more rude person at a doctor's office in my entire life. The issues at this office and the lack of actually trying to diagnose a problem by her the doctors, make this office one to beware of. I guess it's fine if you are status quo and not really needing medical help. I was also told that I could not send any notes or emails directly to my own doctor (Dr. O). This is not worth my time as a patient. Something has really gone wrong with my health, I"m not be able to count on this office for assistance. By the way: i apologize for any spelling or grammar errors. As I said, my vision is impaired by whatever is going on, that MY DOCTOR'S OFFICE HAS REFUSED TO DO THE JOB HELPING ME WITH.

I want to start by saying the idea behind Oak Street Health a "one-stop" primary care clinic is a…read moregreat concept. Unfortunately, the execution falls short. I began as a patient in 2021. My first visit was on time, and the intake and case management process was actually very good. They accepted my Medicare Advantage plan, gave me a tour of the facility, and even offered transportation to and from appointments, which initially made me feel confident in choosing this clinic. However, continuity of care quickly became an issue. My first doctor left the clinic. The next provider retired with no notice. After that, I was assigned a doctor I really liked only to find out he was a visiting provider who was only there for the day. Eventually, I was placed with the one male nurse practitioner and stayed with him until 2022, but ultimately felt he was not a good fit for my care. I decided to give Oak Street Health one final chance and switched to a female doctor. At first, things seemed fine. Then the transportation service became unreliable vans were late or missed rides altogether, causing me to arrive late for appointments. I also began to notice a pattern of prescribing medications quickly, without much discussion or exploration of alternatives. In 2023, I had an appointment where I arrived 20 minutes early. I waited those 20 minutes in the lobby, then another 25 minutes with the assistant before being taken to the exam room. I was told the doctor would be in shortly. I asked to keep the door open because the exam room was stuffy and then I waited. For two full hours, no doctor came in. No one checked on me. No one asked if I needed water. No updates. Nothing. After two hours, I decided to leave. As I gathered my things and headed out, the receptionist asked where I was going because there was no record of me leaving or any follow-up scheduled. I calmly explained that I had been left alone in an exam room for two hours without anyone checking on me, and I was done waiting. I had to call an Uber because no Oak Street Health vans were available. While waiting for my ride, the doctor called me asking why I missed my appointment which was the final straw. I explained that I waited 20 minutes in the lobby, 25 minutes in the exam room with staff, and then two hours alone waiting for her. I told her that unless Oak Street Health planned to compensate me for my time, I would not be returning. The bottom line is this: the concept is good, but the execution is not. If Oak Street Health truly wants to be a "one-stop" clinic for seniors, then it needs to be done right. That means consistency in providers, reliable transportation, respect for patients' time, and ideally access to specialists under the same roof. Seniors should not have to bounce between five different locations to receive proper care. If you're going to build a model like this, get it right the first time. Suggestions: really care about your senior patients not just claim it. Hire in some typical specialists that are experts with diabetes, HIV, Cancer and other geriatric patient needs. while not every specialist can come onboard a few in these specific medical needs would be a great way to service your seniors. This is a new generation of Seniors with a lot more needs. Space out your appointments so that your patients are not sitting in the exam room more than 20 minutes. If someone arrives late or is known to be constantly late they either need to rebook or wait until after those who showed up on time.

The staff was very nice and explained everything well. No lab or pharmacy was a deal breaker. No…read moreDoctor at the facility only Physician Assistants. It's nothing like the commercials.

She has taken wonderful care of both me and my mom. Unfortunately, my experiences with the front desk (particularly with the receptionist, Brianna) have been incredibly upsetting, and today was my breaking point. I called to verify a prescription issue, and she repeatedly interrupted me, talked over me, and argued to the point that I started crying. Even then, she showed zero empathy and continued to dismiss me. My insurance representative later called the office and told me Brianna was just as unpleasant and uncooperative with her. And the issue I had been trying to explain -- that my prescription was wrong -- ended up being completely true. Instead of helping resolve it, she talked down to me and chose to argue over a problem that genuinely needed attention. I sincerely hope the office addresses this, because patients deserve compassion and basic respect. Dr. Wilson deserves staff who reflect the same quality of care she provides.

Does not care about patients when they clearly have a legitimate medical problem.Walked out of the room and directly into another pt's room while I was in the middle of speaking. Gave me a sample medication that was EXPIRED. Very rude receptionists/front desk staff. Was given the wrong pt's discharge papers and instructions and when I said it didn't make sense or pertain to my case, they were rude as if I was the one who gave someone else's information out.Cried after leaving his office because was not helped AT ALL and wasn't even referred to someone who could help me. ZERO reason to ever step foot into this office. Would give him zero stars if it were an option. Rude, incompetent, unhelpful waste of time and money all the way.
