Darrell and his great crew resurfaced several exterior staircases for my condo's HOA. I am so pleased with the outcome. Our original builder used light weight concrete when constructing the buildings which did not hold up appropriately as it's a cheaper material. The rain water also pooled too much as the pitch of the stairs wasn't adequate. Darrell recommended a "Tuff Flex" solution with a sand grit to mitigate slipping. I am very happy with the product selection and several neighbors have commented that the rain water collects much, much less. The Tuff Flex seems to repel the water similar to RainX on a windshield. Darrell was very flexible with scheduling and I commend him for dealing with all the neighbors on an individual basis. His pricing and payment arrangements were very fair. I'm the manager and part owner of the 3 story Troop Real Estate building you can see on the North side of the 101 freeway at Lewis road. We have about 2000 square feet of decking on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the building. Darrell and the staff at Ventura Deck Coatings coated and resurfaced all of them. I'd never met Darrell before requesting a bid on the job (This isn't a family member or an old friend writing a five star review). Without boring you with too many details, every interaction was pleasant, productive, informative, and professional. He came in with the lowest bid for the same service as the other vendors I received estimates from. He started the work quickly, worked without disrupting the tenants, updated me often and stuck to his estimated schedule exactly. He even repaired some of the doorway thresholds and railings. The tenants, other owners, and myself could not be more satisfied with the finished result. Darrell would send picture updates as the job was being done. I've attached a few because the finished result, although looking absolutely amazing, does not show all the layers of coating and hard work hidden underneath. Found this company via Yelp and some real estate agent recommendations after buying a new home that required resurfacing of multiple decks. Our deck covering was outdoor carpet, it was old and stained. After stripping off the worn carpet we called several deck coating companies for estimates. From the beginning Darrell was professional and provided a comprehensive assessment of how his company would cover the deck, along with an estimate. He was able to start the job right away, and was finished in one day. We had our choice of colors- we went with the lighter Stone Gray which matched the house color. The water damage was effectively covered, and we now have a beautiful and well executed epoxy deck cover. Quality surpassed our expectations. The installation was perfectly level with good drainage pitch, and the perimeters sealed water tight. The deck is water proof, so no worries about damage to the wood underneath. This job was a roof top deck near the beach. The beach salt environment caused the deterioration of the last deck very quickly. From what I see, the Polycoat system they used is going to last for years. The last coat takes a day to dry so I'll try to update with pictures later. read more

He gave me a quote to resurface two 2nd story catwalks at my 16-unit apartment building in Oxnard, and first off the quote was reasonable and totally fair--not too cheap, nor too expensive, but right in line with what I was expecting. And the final cost was exactly what he estimated--not a penny more. He told me how many days it would take to resurface the decks (three), and that's exactly how long it took. Moreover, he worked with my tenants to ensure minimal disruption to their lives as he resurfaced the decks.
