This company is a nightmare. We rented 50 chairs and 5 tables for an event, and they were supposed to handle both delivery and pickup as part of the service. Instead, they forced us to pick everything up ourselves at the last minute because they suddenly "didn't have a driver." Fine, we made it work and hauled it all home. When it came time for pickup after the event, they hit us with a surprise $170 pickup fee--even though we live only 5 miles from their location in Ventura. On top of that, they tried to tack on a $70 gas fee for the short drive. None of this was ever mentioned upfront in the quote, contract, or any conversation. Zero transparency. When I pushed back and said we couldn't bring it back ourselves (which is why we rented with delivery/pickup in mind), they basically shrugged and said tough luck--they knew we had no other option and squeezed us anyway. This feels straight-up predatory. They bait you with one price, change the terms to inconvenience you, then slap on massive hidden fees when you're stuck. Customer service was dismissive and unapologetic--no refunds, no credits, no accountability. They clearly take advantage of people who are already stressed planning events. I've heard similar stories from others about surprise charges and poor communication. Save your money and your sanity--rent from literally anyone else. This place is not worth the hassle or the extra costs they sneak in. Avoid Ventura Party Rental at all costs! read more

My wedding is in a week and they told me they could longer accommodate me with the chairs i had picked out for my wedding. They said i either had to pay a delivery and pick up fee to my venue in Moorpark or i had to pick another chair because the chairs i picked are too delicate. I already paid for the chairs and had a contract with them! I FELT SO TAKEN CARE OF, the entire team at Ventura Rental Party & Events was amazing! I will start with Judy, who advised my from our first conversation. Her vast knowledge was an excellent resource for me as I was planning this event on my own, I leaned into her experience & am grateful for her expertise. Additionally, when there was rain in the forecast 4 days prior to my all outdoor party, Judy was the first to contact me and asked if I needed anything to protect our event, she even followed up multiple times when I was too stressed out to even think straight!!! (Thank you again, Judy) Next, the installation team was superb, they called 10 minutes prior to their arrival, answered all of my questions, and ensured I was comfortable with the placement before moving ahead. They were kind, efficient, placed everything exactly where I asked despite me not having a schematic to follow, and were even upbeat & positive when they returned later that night to strike the rentals. Lastly, I hope you're still reading for this part, the day of my event the venue totally messed up on the linens, had the wrong size tablecloths & I was almost in tears! I know it sounds dramatic, but after a year plus of planning, a week stressing about possible rain, the thought of having short tablecloths for my very formal event sent me over the edge. Since the venue basically shrugged their shoulders and tried to blame us, my husband called the EMERGENCY NUMBER Judy had given me & Nicole, thankfully, answered my prayers. She did have enough of the right size & color and made sure someone stayed in the office until they were collected. Amazing customer service! Extremely friendly and professional!!!!!! Had a last minute dilemma with table linens ect. Called discussed what I needed and was accommodated. Appointments scheduled the same day. Went in and it was such a great experience. I was presented with various options and was able to have my daughter on FaceTime to review the various selections as well as experience their great service and products. This was my first time ordering / working with Ventura Rental. All of the items I ordered came beat up, dirty, white chairs with black marker all over them, they were in terrible condition. I placed my order almost 3 months prior to my event. I got a confirmation the day before my event and it was incorrect. I was told I would get delivery through email - by the manager - and then the day BEFORE my event was told delivery was unavailable. I arranged for someone to pick up the order. The order given to us was incorrect, even though it had been confirmed the day before. They offered to have a staff member bring / deliver the missing items to me. The rep who arrived blocked the main entrance to my event with their truck. She honked and yelled at the pedestrians in her way, she was yelling at the top of her lungs for them to get out of her way. She kept her hand on the horn for what felt like minutes. It was beyond unprofessional. When we returned the items. No one helped us unload. No one greeted us. Will not be using again. The staff was rude, trashy, and unprofessional. read more

Our experience with Ventura Rental Party Center began about 10 months ago at the start of planning our wedding in Ojai. Their inventory is vast, options limitless, and Georgia was an incredible help in maximizing our desired design effect within our budget parameters. Every step along the way Georgia was quick to respond to our questions and advise others vendors with a wealth of knowledge. It was during our wedding week that VRPC really blew us away. Rain snuck into the forecast about five days leading up to our event. Normally, you wouldn't worry...it's Ojai in October, however this whole El Nino talk had us worried. Even though they were managing many events over the weekend, ours most likely one of the smaller, Heidi, the owner, got on the phone with us each day to check weather. We had put a tent on hold, just in case however, we did NOT want to tent our perfect outdoor venue. They really worked with us. With sincere empathy, Heidi went above and beyond that week checking the weather 3 times per day ...and with our final phone call, dropping the tent because the rain shower moved - hurray!! If you are planning a wedding or event in VRPC's service zone, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for your rental needs. I've never worked with such professional, compassionate and caring vendors before (I am a professional, corporate event planner...so I've worked with many such companies all over the country). It is clear that Heidi and Georgia really enjoy what they do, care about their clients and sincerely do mean it when they say that they want you to have the best event. I used VR for my wedding and was not very pleased with my experience with the staff. However, the price was right and delivery/pick-up was on time. :) To explain the staff situation a little more: I showed them my floor model of the venue/layout, etc....and asked for help making sure I had everything I would need (since I am not an event planner and only had a day of coordinator). They said everything looked good....never gave me any feedback or help. We were short some linens--thankfully our coordinator is basically the MacGyver of wedding coordinators and made up for it...she too was surprised VR didn't give me more info/support. Also, I paid my bill...but weeks after the wedding am still being charged extra fees...$50 for ?? and $62 for 'missing items' (My caterer assures me all items were returned). Not much money, but frustrating none-the-less. read more

I rented everything for my 2014 wedding from here, and it was such a great experience. Being from out of town, I stopped by the showroom and essentially had only that one day to pick everything out. The girl on the floor (wish I remembered her name) was so patient with me and my elderly grandmother picking everything out. She staged a table for me so I could get a visual as to how everything would look. I was most excited about the gorgeous wood carved chargers, they were a bit more pricy than the regulars, but I had to have them! Heidi and the Girls at VR were very helpful. Lots of different ideas and everything worked out great. The issue we had was when we would go in we told them to email us our updates and give us a quote. Nothing happen until a month prior to the wedding. The email they were sending the information to us was not us. It wasn't until we did the vendor walk through that we found out they had the wrong email. I tried to correct the email issue prior to the vendor walk though but they said they would fix it. I have To say that venture party rentals saved my life. Well they didn't save my life but they saved to occasion's. They made it so easy for me to rent tables and chairs. The price was very reasonable and when I told her I did not want to pay for delivery because it just brought the price up to much it was no problem. She said I could pick it up on Friday and return it on Monday. I had 2 different events on 2 separate weekends. The whole staff at Ventura party rentals are so nice. Daniel and Robert who help me load and unload everything were so nice and fast and friendly. Actually they didn't help me they did the loading and the unloading. We rented votive candle holders for our wedding reception. Come to find out, the votives holders were several different types and colors. We booked silver chevron holders and ended up with both white and several different kinds of silver holders. They did provide the candles for the holders which was a nice touch. read more

I really want to thank Heidi and her staff @ VPR for there services and effort. My sisters wedding was outdoors and at the last minute the forecast showed rain. The venue would not allow a party tent unless there was a permit from LAFD. After calling a number of places they all said the same thing it takes two weeks to get a permit from LAFD. When I called VPR Heidi warned me about the permit for Los Angeles county, However she tried anyways unlike the other places. This was a day before the wedding it was crazy. She has impecable taste, never oversells just to sell and ensures the "look and feel" of your wedding stays true with what you are renting. I used Ventura party rental for my wedding earlier this month and i have to say that the service was very disappointing. I went for my consultation back and march and was helped by Ashley who was very sweet and helpful she provided us with options and assured us we would receive a price quote within a week, 2 weeks later...i did receive a quote that was not complete. Then for the next two months i went through a very long process of calling a reaching probably every associate they have and no one really being able to help me till Courtney who was super she responded quickly and helped me through finally getting a contract unfortunately it took 2 months to get it(not very professional). I just kept telling my husband i just want to pay these people, take my money! And honestly after all of that i was still going to give 4 stars because there show room is beautiful and we did get a contract set with the help of Courtney. Now the reason for the 2 stars...I showed up at my venue on wedding day and my coordinator informed me that the Ventura rental staff dropped off our dance floor and said they were to busy with another wedding to set it up for us and they couldn't come back till 1 pm. They didn't even have the guts to call me or my husband to tell us and our guest were arriving at 3; our lighting guy and DJ needed the dance floor set first thing in the morning and we had been promised by VR that it would be. So my maid of honors husband who was in the wedding had to rush out early in the morning and set the whole thing out with the help of my father. I was upset to put it mildly. I also rented these antique window panes to write with a paint pen the seating chart on; there were not dropped off with the order. Later Ashley walked in with them to deliver them and they were the wrong ones they were very small and not what i had paid for. She did go back and get the other ones but it made it so that my bridesmaid had to write them out not me and we didn't receive them till noon time which set back our pre wedding pictures. Then there was the issue of the table runners that i rented for the bridal party and family tables they were no where to be found and my coordinator had to frantically call them and tell them they better rush it this was around 11am, they said they had no idea which runners i had ordered that it was never written down i had to send them an email with the picture of what they look like; again very disappointing they did arrive before the wedding though thank goodness for my wedding coordinator. So to wrap this up i was extremely disappointed with the level of service that this company provides the product itself was good but its beyond sad when your friends and family are forced to do the job you paided someone else to do. And for this i will never refer or use this company. read more
