VenturePad is a beautiful shared workspace in Central San Rafael. During the peak of COVID's 1st wave in 2020, Alejandro and Chris made me feel welcome and safe. At the time, there were just a handful of us working in the space, and we all took exceptional care to keep things clean, social distance, wear masks... I felt safe, and moreover, very productive. I moved from San Rafael last year, and haven't found a shared workspace that can rival VenturePad. Here in Tempe, there's WeWork, but it's not the same local vibe. Chris and Alejandro are entrepreneurs that support entrepreneurs and work to build a supportive and thriving community. VenturePad - my dedicated deskspace at VenturePad - Shared Office Spaces Near Me - San Rafael, California

I toured this space and overall was impressed with the work spaces they offer. The natural light, open space, and quiet room are great. They also welcome dogs, which is HUGE! However, success if all in the details and I was surprised and disappointed in a few details. These include a general lack of upkeep, especially in the kitchen area. There are unorganized shelves with random objects (drums? plastic table cloths?) crammed randomly everywhere. The kitchen also has a...shall we say ripe odor that is quite off-putting. The fridge had milk and food that was WAY past its prime. I asked a colleague who has a membership here and he complained about the fact that most mornings there's a lack of consistency in such details as having pitchers of water set up, or the coffee maker not working due to empty water tank, or coffee pods not available. Easy, simple details that go a long way. The bathrooms, while clean, also had cleaning supplies stuffed in various corners. I would not consider inviting a client or coworker here. The owners are pleasant, but the person at the front desk can sometimes be a little...prickly (according to my colleague). Membership prices are competitive with other offerings in Marin, but the competition has obviously make it a priority to make their spaces inviting and high quality. VenturePad does not offer discounts for 6 month or yearly commitments...that's a shame. While this may seem trivial, there is a reason why other co-working spaces (WeWork, Mindspace, Covo, to name a few) prioritize quality, upkeep and friendly staff for its clients. It makes a big difference when you're working long hours in this environment. For the price they charge for monthly membership they can definitely do better. It doesn't take much to get there. read more

Great support. This is an excellent resource in Marin. Founded by an experienced startup veteran, VenturePad offers excellent space, engaging talks and presentations, and a good spot to meet and work on your business. I have attended a few talks which have been educational. And I find the work space to be a neat retreat in downtown San Rafael. Their membership fees are reasonable and the organization offers entrepreneurial support in various ways. read more

Where do I start! Chris and Alejandro have created what Marin needed for all of us remote worker bees and people who do not want to be in a setting that is not conducive to being creative or free thinking or just not productive. I had been to WORK Petaluma with a friend and it was a great space and I really liked the vibe, but it was too far for me to drive everyday to have some remote work space. Then my awesome boss found Venture Pad through being in the Chamber of Commerce with Chris. I now am a resident in this beautiful built out space in downtown San Rafael. My own desk with locking filing cabinet I can use the conference rooms, I have wicked fast internet, printers and audio visual. We have a full kitchen with all the coffee and tea you could want a cozy lounge area and great workshops during the week and happy hour on Fridays for members. The space has a ton of beautiful natural light, huge windows and you can walk to the banks, post office, run errands or just walk around the town while having a telephone conference. It is also a great place to network and meet other people in business and discuss work strategies ideas and general business management. I've met some really great people in my short time using Venture Pad, it is so nice to come here every morning and work. There is a parking garage where you can rent monthly or you can park in Gerstle Park and walk up B street to the office. There are different types of memberships and you can also do a drop in for $25.00 a day. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is still hanging out at the library or Peet's on a daily basis to work as a lovely alternative. read more

I have been working remote for the past four years. At first I tried all the different remote/shared office options (WeWork, Regus, coffee shops, subleases, etc.) and could not find anything that worked for me. Finally I stumbled upon VenturePad where I found the perfect place to get my work done in a professional and community oriented environment. The space is perfect. The owners/operators are amazing and will bend over backwards to get you whatever you need. The other community members are friendly and professional. The location is amazing - so much better being in downtown San Rafael with the restaurants, shops, people, etc. nearby, than being in an office park somewhere with nothing outside your door. I have since moved out of the Bay Area to go fully remote and am really missing my desk at VenturePad. TLDR: If you need a place to work in Marin check out VenturePad. You'll love it! read more

I have had a great experience at VenturePad. I started off working at one of the tables, moved to a desk, and then finally was able to move into one of the offices. All were great. But the co-workers really made it work for me. Although we were mostly in different industries, we had great conversations and learned from each other. This was the perfect venue for my husband and I's 4 year wedding anniversary. We threw a themed party from the tv show "The Office". My friend found VenturePad online and thought it would be so fitting. My first contact was with Chris over the phone and he was really nice and informative. The venue is large enough to fit up to 50 people and is clean and modern. They have a full kitchen with a coffee maker and tea kettle, fridge, dishwasher and microwave. Full set of silverware, plates, wine glasses, coffee cups, etc. The venue is equipped with chairs and tables. Speakers and an amp were available for our DJ. Chris and Alejandro were there the day of the event to help set up and answer any last minute questions. The whole event went smoothly from start to finish. Co-working in Marin, nicely done. High ceilings, lots of desks, good wifi, kitchen, bathroom, all good. In addition to the open desk areas, they have a separate room with a bunch of desks, as well as separate glass-walled conference rooms. I arrived around 10:15am on a Wednesday and found lots of parking in a city garage a block away ("C" street near 5th, 75 cents/hour or $6 all day!). Walk south a half block to 4th street for multiple coffee and lunch options. A great local resource. read more

Venture Pad is a great co-working space in the heart of downtown San Rafael. When I get tired of working from home alone, I come in to get my fill of creative working professionals to hang out with, a creative energy to feed off and lots of ways to learn more about business. They have lunch and learn programs every week, happy hour on Fridays and host many different business groups that fulfill my need to connect without having to go into a formal office. Chris and Alejandro have created an excellent space that is both congenial and professional. After many years of corporate work I started my own business. I was working from home, but the ever present distraction of kids, refrigerator and mental tug of undone house projects ruined my productivity. My distractedness was bad enough to inject a debilitating self-doubt into my mind. I took a floating desk at VenturePad and the fog instantly lifted. The space is quiet with a pleasant population of focused, cooperative individuals. Chris and Alejandro, and others I met there, are helpful without being intrusive. Even though I was doing my own thing, I enjoyed "coming to work" among familiar faces. I worked there nine months and have nothing but good things to say about the whole experience. Good wifi. Good facilities. Good location. Comfortable setting. Wide range of talks and seminars. And most importantly to me, I got my stuff done. (I'm only leaving because my own business is now habitable.) I started off with access only to available desks and liked it so much I upgraded to an assigned desk. The environment is very productive (quiet, wifi, printing, kitchen, meeting rooms) and VenturePad offers events and speakers on a regular basis for self and business improvement.
