At the end of July, I decided to cancel my household's membership as we were taking advantage of…read morethe tennis courts, and found out there would not be winter accomodations. It was not disclosed to us at the time of sign up that the clay courts were not functional in winter, and the club didn't have plans to replace the "bubble." This is a seperate issue in itself. I called initially and was told I needed to come into the gym to cancel, which I did. Upon arriving I was told there was a 30 day notice required which made sense, and then the rep I was working with immediately recanted stating that we were locked into a contract. This was news to me, and I asked if this was written somewhere as it was not disclosed to me when I signed up over the phone. I was never prompted to sign anything via online or in person, so I was curious as to what I'd missed. The rep pulled up a form that I had "signed" that outlined the annual fee with finance charge then monthly rate. This was NOT signed by me and in fact a FORGED SIGNATURE. I was immediately alarmed of course and raised that concern. The rep continued to tell me they couldn't cancel the membership unless I was moving, and I was adament that I'd never signed that contract and wanted my membership voided immediately. The rep then stated they were "leaving in 5 minutes" and would need their manager to call me. That felt like a total cop out, and I was frustrated. I asked to take a picture of the contract for proof so I could compare the signatures. To add - I had signed the cancellation form before the rep told me I was "in a contract" so I pointed out that they just watched me naturally sign a form, and could clearly tell that what was on the screen was not my signature. I said that I was fine with the manager calling me and asked that he also bring up the issue of forged signature. Fast forward to that evening, I received an email from the manager that my contract had been voided as of that day. No mention of the forged signature, and the fact that they waived the 30 day notice felt like they were trying to cover something. I replied and thanked them for their help, and expressed concern that they didn't acknowledge my signature had been forged on the contract. (Not to mention, it was never presented to me that the gym membership could be paid in full, and I'd been paying a finance charge monthly that was not known to me...) They replied and said they'd spoken to the team member. I debated on posting this, but I think others should be aware of this fradulent situation and the complete lack of care when handling something illegal.

I've been an Orangetheory member for years, and visiting different studios usually feels like coming home. I attended this location over Thanksgiving 2025 while visiting family and initially had a great experience. The studio was clean, well-maintained, and the front desk staff were consistently friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, my experience after that visit has been disappointing. I accidentally left behind a single workout glove. What followed was months of trying to get it returned. I reached out multiple times by phone, text, and email. While the front desk staff were always kind and responsive, the studio manager never replied to a single email. To make things as easy as possible, I even provided a prepaid FedEx label and offered to arrange pickup if needed. Staff confirmed that the label was received, yet I still never heard back from the manager. My last email was sent on February 4, 2026, and went unanswered. At this point, it's no longer about the glove. It's about the lack of basic communication and respect. A simple response would have gone a long way. As a long-time member, that level of disregard is disappointing.

I really enjoy the coaches and music playlists here, I can always rely on the Woodruff road location to have a great coach and solid workout for me. As a Christian playlists are important to me, I like hearing a fun upbeat and diverse playlist. I think Carmine and Erin are awesome coaches I frequently see here. The guy at the front desk is also very friendly. Bravo!

Extremely Poor Maintenance and Unsanitary Restrooms -- Look for Alternatives…read more I've been coming to Planet Fitness at Verdae in Greenville, SC, and the situation has only gotten worse. More than 50% of the restrooms have been out of order for over two months, with absolutely no progress. When I asked the front desk, they told me there is no plan to repair them. On top of that, the cleanliness of the remaining restrooms is extremely poor -- dirty, poorly maintained, and clearly not cleaned regularly. For a gym that claims to prioritize member experience, this is completely unacceptable. Until this location fixes its maintenance and sanitation issues, I strongly recommend looking for alternative gyms.

I visited this Planet Fitness when I went to Greenville recently for work. Like all Planet Fitness…read moregyms, it's mostly cardio equipment (arc trainers, ellipticals, bikes, and treadmills) and pretty no-frills when it comes to weights. The individual machines don't have TVs, but there are 8 choices along the wall, and you can plug in your headphones to hear the audio, which worked well. This location was easy to find with GPS and has plenty of parking, but the parking lot does have several potholes to watch out for. My favorite thing about this location is that there's a big leather couch with magazines for relaxing after your work out and shower/change. My Planet Fitness location back home doesn't have this, and it seems like a good place to relax a bit before heading back to the real world. I'll visit again if I'm back in the area, too.
