A wonderful getaway and retreat not far from Belo Horizonte. A hidden gem.
Set in a lush valley there are a lodge / B&B, a restaurant, and various guided outdoor activities. We've been here several times and very much enjoyed the "arvorismo", an obstacle course high up in the trees (you're protected from falling by safety wires that you clip into yourself), and cool zip lines. There are three different routes, including one for kids taller than 1.2m. You can also rock climb (on an artificial wall) and take a dip in the waterfall.
We have not stayed in the pousada so can't comment on that. The restaurant has outdoor seating in the grass surrounding a small lake with some fish, and also indoor, but obviously with open sides to let the breeze in. The food is decent; we've had some great dishes and some "ah, ok" ones.
But all in all totally worth a visit. read more
