this is the worst customer experience I have ever had with any business. I had to purchase a new phone and it took over three hours and it still was not completed so I had to come back the next day. They seem to not want to communicate with you and walk away and don't even tell you they're walking away to check on something. HANDS DOWN THE WORST EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD. Verizon- Aiken,Sc 11/20 A few weeks ago, Ed sold me my new iPhone. Told me I would get $200 for my current phone (with a cracked screen), and a shipping label would be sent with my new phone. Came in to turn in my old phone because I never received a shipping label and spoke with, Manager- Robert. Robert told me I was only getting $33.50 for my old iPhone and was unable to override Called customer care, spoke with one girl, and told me she was going to get a manager and had me on hold for 15 minutes before I was transferred to another representative named Rizza (1306672 Employee Number) and I had to go through everything all over again. Now 23 minutes in and still holding. Spoke with customer care representative, Jacinda (2600006) who I was supposed to go through the whole Issue again. I looked at Robert and was looking for a solution. I was becoming firm and pressing for a solution of which he just looked at me and said he couldn't do anything. Then asked me to stop raising my voice and cursing (which I hadn't at this point, did drop a few curse words when I walked in and this started, but not belligerent or yelling) needless to say the cops were called, the black female that works there with the long dreads with beads came running over and jumped in the conversation and hung up the phone on the customer service representative, escalating the issue. The girl employee had become very dramatic saying to hit the panic button for the cops. She began yelling at me throwing her hands in face that saying they were calling the cops and I need to calm down (which I still wasn't yelling I just kept telling them that I want a solution) and was trying to understand why the manager couldn't help me or give me someone above him, other than customer care. He said $33.50 was the solution for my old phone. And he wouldn't take my new phone back because he also couldn't waive the $50 restocking fee. Apparently this is their game. Buyer beware. I was escorted out by the police. I've never been treated so poorly. I will NEVER go to a Verizon Store for anything ever again. I probably should have left. The reason I stayed is because no one is held accountable for scamming people and not honoring their words. I stayed because of the point, I was told something then they tried to screw me over. Absolutely horrible experience going to this Verizon!!!!! Robert ( a manager) is one of the most inconsiderate, unprofessional people I've had to meet with in a very long time! He blames everything on "corporate " and can't answer any questions. We left this location completely unsatisfied! Do yourself a favor and go to the Verizon on Richland ave in Aiken where you will receive wonderful business and leave happy ( ask for Kenny Odom), he took care of us today. read more

Be wary of any discounts offered by staff to get your business. Promises made in the store were not true when our bill came. (Also plan a minimum of 3 hours of your time to get an account set up by this staff.) My husband and I live out of town and were in Aiken visiting family. We wanted to switch our cell phone accounts to Verizon and were met at the store with eager commissioned sales reps. We had done our research online and came in knowing what plans we wanted. After an hour of discussing plans with the sales rep, we were told it was too close to the closing time of the store to set up our account, and we needed to come in the next day. We returned and the rep we had met with the day before was on his lunch break (although the staff told us he wasn't scheduled to be on lunch but he decided on his own to leave). So we were once again told to come back later. We finally got to set up the accounts after another 2 hours of meeting with the rep. The manager came out to offer us "special deals" and "waived fees" to get our business and add 2 wireless hot spots lines. We were satisfied and glad to be done.... Or so we thought. I'm sure glad I check our bill because we found that every discount and waived fee we were promised by the sales manager in order to get our business was not reflected on our bill. To make matters worse, when I called Verizon's customer service to explain the issue, I was accused of lying and told that the store manager wouldn't have had the authority to waive those fees. The customer service manager went as far as to tell me that "Those fees are a big way we [Verizon] make money." The store staff knew we lived out of town and saw a couple who would not be able to return. They earned their commission, and it has been out of sight out of mind for them ever since. Unfortunately for us, we've been met with issue after issue on our account and have been overcharged 6 out of 6 months, each time being told that "You shouldn't have any trouble going forward." And yet the next month, there is a new issue and more wasted time on the phone with Verizon. We just found out that Sprint will buy you out of your Verizon contract. We will be looking into this and needless to say will not be returning to that Verizon location. read more

Worst customer service I've experienced. New phone and screen protector. Screen protector broke within 3 hours of purchase and store would not replace. Had to order on line and pay shipping. Suggested to bring new phone and all accessories back the only response from manager was "there will be a $35 restocking fee" If I treated a customer this way, I would be fired immediately! read more

Absolutely horrible customer service. I made an appointment for 10. I came in at 10 the manager Marcus stayed he couldn't find me in system and I had to wait. Then Quay came up and I told him what was going on and he said someone will be with you in awhile. Then the next Verizon associate came up and pulled my appointment right up. When I questioned it nothing was said. I figured the only thing is I was not young or cool so they didn't want to assist me. Then when I told the associate that was helping what my problem was they acted like it was no big deal. I was so furious that I was thinking of upgrading to the new best thing but instead just got the same phone I had and got out. Then Quay and the associate started talking about me and how I was making a mistake getting the same phone that I had for over three years, that made me even madder. Then when I asked Quay for his name at first he did not want to give it to me but finally did. I have left a message with corporate and will be making more calls this week. Because the experience was absolutely uncalled for. I believe none of them should be working there. Please I recommend take the drive to Columbia or Augusta and avoid Aiken at all cost. read more

If you are stuck with Verizon DON'T use the corporate store on Whiskey. Go to TCC on Richland, the non-corporate retailer. I have been a Verizon customer since 2013. I have purchased several phones at this store over the years. I will never visit this store again and I am seriously considering changing providers. I purchased a droid turbo 2 from the store several years ago. People complained they couldn't hear me when I talked. The first time I took the phone in, the technician was exemplary. She examined the phone, cleaned it, tried a few fixes and when she couldn't fix it she decided to sent it in. I could not have asked for better service. The phone was sent in and I received a replacement due to a problem under the warranty. I continued to have the same problem. I took the phone in and the technician or assistant could not have been worse. Basically looked at my phone without doing any troubleshooting and said there was nothing that could be done. So I decided to replace the phone. I returned to the store to shop for a new phone. I was told the Samsung Galaxy 8 was the best phone. When I asked why, there was no explanation of benefits or features. I drove to Augusta, GA in order to by the phone at a better price and from a more knowledgeable sales person at Best Buy - I saved $150. Today, my new Samsung would not turn on. I took it to the Aiken store and was told it would likely cost me $359 to get the phone repaired despite the fact it is under warranty (I purchased it 3 mo. ago). After an hour on the phone with the corporate tech., I've come to the conclusion Verizon does not have the expertise technically or the professionalism to provide good customer service. I'm sending my phone directly to Samsung for repair and I will very, very likely change service providers. When I asked the tech on the phone about there being only 1% difference between Sprint and Verizon for coverage she stated that's a big difference when you look at all the billions of calls made nationwide. When I asked about local coverage, because I really don't care about the calls dropped in Caribou, Maine or the bad lands of Utah, she couldn't provide me with an answer. I went on line to make a complaint. I first had to deal with an automated assistant who evidently didn't understand the word complaint. When I finally wised up and asked for an agent, I was told to check my bill. Then I was told I had to mail a complaint to Verizon. Thank you Yelp for providing me a better outlet for expressing my concern and providing a warning to other consumers. read more

I've been a customer for 15 years and never had much trouble with Verizon except for sometimes struggling to understand changes in their programs. I've spent over $20,000 as a costumer over this time, several times purchasing new phones for myself and 3 of our 5 children (with many more phones expected to be purchased in the future). For my latest purchase, with a customer reward i was given the option to buy a phone on special with a $90 discount. After thorough questioning I understood there to be NO catch to this offer and NO increased fees. I was surprised to see my bill increase by $20/ month with this deal, an apparent requirement for 2 years as "my contract". So I received a $90 discount to pay an extra $480. I talked to Verizon to explain that no one would agree to this "deal" if they understood the fee increase and they told me I have no recourse but to pay to terminate my contract. As a loyal customer, i am disgusted by this misrepresentation (at the least) and blatant thievery. I am hoping to find a replacement mobile phone service company and never do business with Verizon again. I hope my $390 was worth the loss of me as a costumer to them but based on my communication with them, they really don't care. read more

I just had the most pleasant experience at Verizon. Yes, you read that right. My mom's phone could not be resuscitated, so we begrudgingly headed to Verizon. I had done a ton of homework and came prepared with a million questions and the 50/50 possibility that we were going to walk away from Verizon altogether. By the grace of Verizon gods, Christina was sent our way. Not only did she answer my many difficult questions, she went above and beyond to show my technologically impaired mother how to use her new iPhone (even when she was upgrading from an iPhone...sigh). Christina even went out to her car and set up bluetooth. She found us a new plan with more data at the same price, set up my mom's new phone, and put the cover on. I'm pretty sure my mom wanted to adopt her after the whole experience. If you're ever in the area and need a Verizon, head to this location and request Christina. Best Verizon store I have ever been to - from here to Texas! Great service. Prompt and helpful. I had issues with my phone and was promptly met by Marqus. I thought he was just going to take my name to wait in line. I was shocked he was ready to help. I've never seen that a Verizon store before and I've had Verizon for several years.
