I have been to this store many times for purchases, activations, you name it and I've always had a positive experience. In my experience folks that work there don't do a hard sell and really spend some time with you. Today I was there for literally hours because my father lost his phone and didn't have anyway to verify his account via pin or email to get a new one. The people at the store were very patient and helpful as we maneuvered around the many roadblocks while on the phone with corporate to get him settled. They went above and beyond to get us squared away. People seem happy to log on to post something negative and I want to do my part to counteract that with my positive experience! Verizon online support instructed me to return two phones to this store after canceling service because of coverage issues. They assured me that the store would be able to pull up the account information and provide the return service. They refused to take the phones and did not offer to provide return shipping labels and that I would have to go through "them" meaning online support. After returning home and contacting support once again they are not sure why the store refused. Completely unhelpful staff, I'm not sure if it is incompetence or indifference but I would walk to Springfield rather than drive to the Hadley store ever again. read more

If an idiot of a sales person says "surge" 5 xs as to why my phone is dead. And the cistomer asks "what does that mean ?" Know what it means ! Instead when asked his response was 3xs " its what it means " i said "fried ?" We went to this store because we wanted to talk about phones and plan options. We needed to switch from T-mobile because there is a giant coverage hole around the house we just bought. Verizon is the only company with coverage in that area. We should have just kept T-mobile and lived with internet phone at the house. The verizon sales rep told us we could get an unlimited Play More plan for $40/month per line. But apparently that price is only good if you buy 4 lines. Well, eventually we might have four lines, but right now our kids are too young for phones. And the sales rep kept assuring us that the price was $40, as we walked out of the store with 2 phones and 2 service plans. This sounded like a good deal. It would have been, but it was not true. If I had been alone, maybe I would just say, oh, I guess I was was confused or I misunderstood the sales rep. But my husband was there and heard the exact same thing. It is additionally problematic because they keep telling you not to worry about the paper work that makes it look like everything is more, that the numbers will shake out after 2-3 billing cycles. You'll get credited for your trade-ins and having switched phone companies, usually by the second bill, but sometime the third. But while the credit for the phone trade-in did eventually appear, the price of the plan remained at $80. Because that's what it actually was, not $40 like the sales associate said. Now it's 2 months later. There is a 30 day return policy that you can't actually use because the bills don't shake out until after that. We can't get our phone back because we traded it in. If we leave, we have to buy the phones instead of getting credited for staying with Verizon. If we buy a cheaper plan, one of the phones is not free. Not sure about the trade in, might owe more on that one too. So the solution is pay several hundred dollars to get out of the contract, or suck it up. Sorry we lied to you. And that's just the store. Verizon phone customer service is even worse. You call them and there is always a hours long wait. So you ask them to call you back or schedule a call. Once I scheduled a call and they called me hours after the scheduled time window while I was on a run in a poor coverage area. The next time I scheduled a call and when they called me and "connected" me, they connected me to a recording that said, sorry, our call centers are not open. Please try again later. The third try the robot said the wait time is 6-8 min, so I waited and 20 minutes later I had to hang up and drive my kid somewhere. The fourth time I said, hold my place and finally talked to someone who was perfectly pleasant but couldn't change the situation. If I had called T-mobile, they would have found a way to give me some kind of discount or make things a little bit better. But these guys just say, "there's nothing I can do, there's no other plan. And by the way, if you want to change something it's going to cost a lot of money. But hey, you walked out of store with $1500 of "free" equipment!" Over 24 months of committed service that are $40 more than what was sold, that's $960. Stay away from this store and stay away from Verizon if you have any other options. read more

I needed to upgrade from a 3G phone to a 4G phone. I just wanted a basic flip phone for emergencies. The staff at the Hadley store never tried to sell me a more expensive phone; in fact, they told me exactly which brand of phone to purchase at Walmart. Tarik then transferred my old account, phone number, and phone plan directly into the new phone. He also set up all my preferences for me---making the new phone feel like my old phone. He patiently answered all my questions and was sensitive to the fact that I was a novice when it came to phone technology. In short, he was wonderful! read more

Finally done switched carriers after 19 years better coverage at my house all this came about after they told me something that was untrue I just hate the whole salesman vibe while I will get the same from a new carrier at least it won't be opening all the wounds from the reoccurring issues we had with Verizon in the past. Problems arose, she went back to the store as the Verizon customer service advised, and they coldly told her to go to an Apple Store for help. I was just on the phone w/Verizon when we got disconnected during our call because the rep was trying to apply the new 20% discount I now get through my employer. After that happen I could not make a call or text but send emails and access social media. I go up to this Hadley store and the man that was suppose to be helping me proceeded to tell me I had water damage from my case and started taking pictures of my phone. Mind you the phone has not touched water at all and the case is not leaking and if it did wouldn't leak on the phone because it is on the outside sep from the phone. He wasn't even listening to me, so I grabbed my phone and he said get the fuck out of the store. I turned around and asked for the manager and it turns out Edwin/he is the manager. He told me to get the fuck out of his store!!! I came home a got on chat and Verizon accidentally disconnected my number when they tried to fix my billing. Nothing wrong with my phone and the manager of the store Edwin not only wasn't interested in helping but tried to get me to buy a new phone and then told me to get the Fuck out of his store. If anyone knows who the owner is of this store please reach out to me. I will also be making a complaint at the general office. If I could give this neg stars I would. I don't usually write reviews but I feel like the staff who helped me needed a shout out. I was helped by a representative named John. I had my phone stolen and was an absolute wreck worried about loosing all of my pictures and not knowing what to do to replace it and he was kind and patient with me. He even helped me contact the insurance and in under ten minutes my package was being overnighted. I had no phone and no other way to contact the insurer so the fact that he was willing to take the time to walk me through it was amazing and reduced alot of stress I was having about the whole thing. Thanks to this wonderful staff member (during a pandemic) I had a phone in my hand in less than 72 hours of it being stolen. I know this may have seemed small to the representative but it was a really big deal for me and I am very grateful that I went to this Verizon for help. I don't know who reads these - owner of manager - but either way John is an amazing representative and you are lucky to have him on your team!! read more

Worst Verizon store. Last time I went tin to upgrade my phone, the guy only had two colors, when I asked when they would get a new shiipment (this was around thanksgiving time) he said there's no specific time or date and that I should just oorder it online. He denied that they transfer your contacts and everything that they usually do when you upgrade a phone.!! From all my upgrade experiences, Verizon staff usually do a transfer of some stuff you want etc. My boyfriend also has had negative experiences when trying to pay his bill here. read more

Went to the website to find open hours and saw the awful reviews of this store in Hadley. I thought I'd add my 2 cents. I have used this location several times in the past 5 or so years and have found the staff to be most helpful and courteous. April 2019 was the last time when I bought a new phone. Although I don't remember his name, the young man who waited on us is a vet. He couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. It wasn't very busy when we got there but business did pick up before we were done and everyone seemed as though things were going smoothly. I did notice because we had to wait about 20 min. for the transfer process. This is the only store I will use for my Verizon service. I plan to go back very soon as I'm having issues with my phone and can't get any help from the website or "tech coaches". read more

Awful. If there's any way to give this place a negative star, I would. I knew exactly the iphone I wanted before I walked in the door. The first salesperson was agreeable, and invited me to look around. However, then "Melissa" aggressively barraged me with unwanted items, demanded that I take upgrades I did not want, and when I told her I was not interested, she insisted that I would change my mind. Bizarrely, she was also convinced that I would need three cases, one for outdoors and one for indoors., and a third one, because she has lots of them, herself. When my boyfriend's mother (whose account I am on) arrived, Melissa switched all her attention and overbearing tactics on her. Melissa even suggested that she get a different isp at home, and could not comprehend that there are some locations where that is not possible, and so argued endlessly with us. Despite all polite refusals, Melissa kept on assailing us, making snide comments about how teens use cell phones (while I am short, I am an adult). We ended with her lecturing me on why I need a warranty, and when I said "no thanks," she snipped, "let me explain it to you!" She was a huge, unpleasant waste of time. The place may get good reviews from others, but clearly it depends on who you get. read more

Been twice for questions and a purchase and on both occasions the sales person was nice, helpful and all around professional. The lady I first dealt with walked me to the door and held it when I left even when I said clearly at the beginning I wasn't buying anything that day. Thats fucking class. Seriously, I can't glow enough about this place. Phone salesmen have a (deserved) reputation for being dicks but I can attest to this store being different. Bravo. read more

We have been coming to this store for about 2.5 years now and every single time (every one) - we have had excellent service. Serious problem with online order. 3 calls with over an hour, thought I would be able to clear it up at the store. NO. Not going to happen. Six employees standing around talking about one of them who was in the hospital. Seriously how unprofessional is that? Could not get assistance with the online order. Asked to speak to the manager (MATT?) Told me to "you need to take a deep breath and settle down. I don't like your tone". After he told me I must have put in the wrong address (Greensboro NC) into the order form. Absolutely waste of another hour talking to that manager. Is the point of their customer service to annoy the customer right out of the store? Really? When I called the store to again request help from a supervisor, the employee stated that they were not allowed to give personal information out over the phone. Personal information? I just got great service over the phone from a sales employee in the store about how to set up an new iPhone and use it with a foreign carrier abroad. Very informative. I called about a Verizon-Comcast/Xfinity deal advertised through the mail by Comcast and he gave me good advice about taking the deal because the store can't offer anything as good. It is hard to get to talk to a person on the phone if you go through the Verizon website so I appreciate that the local store does a really good job with phone service. read more

This is the worse Verizon store I have ever been in. Put my name in 3 times in their automated system, waited next to display of the item I wanted to purchase. My name was deleted from the automated system without my name being called by a sales representative. This is not a large store so if my name had been called I would have heard it. If you want to waste your time this is the store for you. Finally went to the Verizon store at the mall in Holyoke and bought the item I wanted. I have been to this Verizon store a handful of times- and not one single time have I left with any of my problems being solved. Last night was the final time I will ever walk into this store. The employee who was supposed to be "helping" me was the most arrogant, rude, and most unhelpful human I may have ever spoken with. Long story not really short- I have been waiting until my family plan contract was over to join my Husbands family plan (also Verizon). My phone completely died yesterday, with 3 weeks until my contract ends on my family plan. I was willing to pay for the final month on the phone plan with a non working phone, switch to his plan and pay for a new ($700?) phone with the Edge program, and would end up adding more data to my Husbands plan. The employee told me I had two options: 1. Not have a phone for the next 3 weeks or 2. Pay them $700 yesterday to buy a phone to get me through the next 3 weeks. I left and found an old phone to (try) and get me through the next few weeks- When I called the customer service line, I spoke to an amazing southern woman in Tennessee who was MORE than helpful. She also told me that the gentleman in the store was completely wrong- she had no idea why he would say what he said, because it was wrong. So if you are looking to not completely waste your time, or ruin your whole day- I would advise you to NOT going to this Verizon store. Ever. read more

This place is the worst. I went in to replace a broken phone and the staff completely slammed me with fees and other costs without explaining why. He just said "You need to pay this because you agreed when you signed it." Didnt even explain what was happening. So many horrible experiences at this store I can't count them all. Even though you are simply in there to upgrade your phone, the first thing they try to do is sell you a new plan and new features that you don't want. When you tell the salesman you want a Motorola phone he tells you are wrong and tries to push the Samsung on you. Most recently, I tried to get a Moto X with the football skin, free with upgrade on the VZW website, oh no, here at this store the moto x with the football skin is $100. All the salespeople at this store are pushers, liars, and thieves. We ended up ordering online. read more

I went into the store on 12/27/15 to get 2 new phones. After perusing the internet for several hours and looking at all the major providers I decided to go to Verizon where I have been a customer for at least 10 years. I walked in and was quickly approached by the manager Tony and told him I was searching for a new phone. He immediately sent Hector over to help me. This salesman was very knowledgeable about all the products I had questions about. He brought out paper and wrote down my several different options so I could read it and review it myself. In the end I left with the 2 Iphones and accessories needed to keep them safe. Even better I decreased my bill by 31$. This was a great buying experience! First off. I never take the time to write reviews good or bad. However, I feel overwhelming inclined to share my HORRENDOUS experience about the Russell Street Verizon Wireless location in Hadley and HOW I URGE YOU to take the trip and see owner Nate Bastarache along with his amazing sales team at the North King Street location in Northampton! I eagerly went to the VW store on Russell Street, CASH IN POCKET, ready to buy a brand new phone. I walked in, and headed over to the iPhone display wall to contemplate whether I wanted the iPhone 6s or iPhone 6 plus. A sales man, who was very heavy set and LITERALLY SMELLED LIKE BOOZE, walked over and asked if I needed assistance. I nodded hesitantly, and said yes. He invited me to the long desk at the back of the store where customers are stationed for sales and negotiations. Without even asking me "What brings you to Verizon today?" or "I see you were browsing our iPhone display counter, which phone interests you?" he immediately whips out a blank piece of paper and begins scribbling out (what looks like BULLSHIT) numbers and pricing for a two-year "over time" payment plan. So not only does it automatically come across that I can not afford to purchase an iPhone, he poorly attempted to use old fashion sales tactics to lock me into a payment plan for a iPhone he never even had the decency to inquiry which one I wanted to buy or my preferred method of payment! Mind you, I had done a lot of research on Verizon.com and knew the pricing for both of the iPhones I was interested in. He then discourages and totally dismisses my wants/needs and rudely told me, "No one is buying the iPhone 6s or the iPhone 6 plus anymore, everyone wants the iPhone 7!" He goes to say how paying with cash doesn't make sense and questioned why I would pay cash when I should save and use a payment plan over time. AND that even if I wanted to buy the iPhone I could ONLY PUT 50% DOWN and I would have to COME BACK TOMORROW to purchase the rest of the phone. By that point I was so completely FLABBERGASTED and disgusted by the service I was receiving; I sternly got up from my chair and walked the hell out of there! This man was horrible/does not belong in sales and his interpersonal skills were nonexistent! Fast-forward to my complete 360 experience with Nate Bastarache and his team of PROFESSIONALS at the VW store on North King Street in Northampton! Right when I walk in, I'm greeted by Sam (who was so personable and pleasant) and proceeded to ask what brought me in that day. He not only took the time to LISTEN to my story but he also ASKED ME about the phone I was interested in purchasing as a replacement. He did not judge me, nor give me a lecture on which phone I should or should not buy. He just did as I asked and looked in the stock room for the version, color and 32GB iPhone I wanted without question! Even though they only had a 16GB version in stock; did I walk out of the store, NO! Why? Because they called up their second location on King Street in Northampton to ask if they had the iPhone in stock that I was looking for. Sure enough, they did AND the sales clerk from that store personally delivered the iPhone to the North King Street location for me! It doesn't end there, the owner Nate Bastarache was notified and came to the store himself to check on me personally and assisted with my transaction at the desk. THREE SALES ASSOCIATES assisted with listening, retrieving, and not only helped my with my CASH PAYMENT transaction but matched the rate offered on Verizon.com! THIS IS CALLED HIGH-QUALITY SERVICE! THIS IS WHAT EVERYONE DESERVES WHEN MAKING SUCH A LARGE PURCHASE! A caring sales team, that treats you like a human being and offers immediate solutions to your problems. Never think twice again, because it's a no brainer. Don't waste your precious time or dollars at VW on Russell Street, just take that extra 15-minute drive and deal with a sales team that actually cares about their customers at Verizon Wireless on 162 North King Street in Northampton, MA! read more

I was surprised that the weekend before Christmas it wasn't very busy. I did get waited on right away. The sales person was not very enthusiastic at all. I am way overdue for an upgrade and wanted an inexpensive phone hopefully one of the ones free with new 2 year contract. He only showed me ones that would be over $150. So I looked and asked a few questions. Then I said I would have to think about it. I found multiple phones for free with new 2 year so wanted to ask about them but he was gone. I found three other salespeople chatting together so asked them. But they couldn't help me, they said they had to get the first one back out of the back room. When they did he told me yes those were free but they had none in stock. He told me if that was what I wanted to go online. I have been to other Verizon stores that are always helpful even when there isn't a sale involved so I was quite surprised. This store only wants to deal with you if there is a big sale involved. I won't be back to that one. very disappointed. read more

I highly recommend that you NOT get a phone from this store, but go somewhere that the sales people don't work on commission. The sales person was helpful in terms of showing me phones and was somewhat knowledgeable, but didn't give me certain information that I should have known prior to switching plans, such as once I switched plans, I could not switch back. Now I've lost my old plan. He implied that I could change back within 14 days. That was not the case. He also didn't help me with my main goal, which was to get a phone with good call quality. He said that all the phones had virtually the same call quality. That was simply not the case. I tried a phone and the call quality was just mediocre. I returned that phone (and had to pay $35 dollar restocking fee, which I did know about) and got a an LG Revere at Best Buy, which had much much better sound quality and much better speaker sound quality. I will never ever shop there again, except to try out phones. read more

Went in to do a simple exchange of an iPhone peripheral that had stopped working. It's the Mophie battery life extender case. It was clearly broken. This should've taken about 2 minutes, but instead the extremely snotty, mega attitude manager decided that it wasn't broken. She grabbed my phone and wouldn't give it back! It was crazy. I demanded my phone back so I could show her why the item was indeed broken. It was like she was personally offended that I would dare claim something they sell had failed. Like she had personally manufactured the item. Insane. Obviously her bad 'tude has trickled down to her minions, as they all seem to have a "you're lucky to be here/hipster doofus" mindset. Really annoying place to do business. Avoid at all costs. read more

We had a truly frustrating experience with the sales person at this store. When my husband reported that he had lost his insured phone he was told that he could not be given a replacement phone in the store. He would need to wait for the replacement to arrive in the mail because the insurance company has to provide the phone. The store will not. Nor would they provide a loaner. We were told that if we really needed a phone right away we could go to the nearest Target and buy one. Really? Since we were driving to a wedding out of town which would require gps, that would be of little value to us. I find it very difficult to believe that there was really nothing the store could do to help us with our situation. They sold us the insurance! Not only was our sales rep unhelpful, he was completely indifferent to our situation. I will do everything I can to find a different store to do my business in future. read more

I wish I could give this store less than one star. The worst customer experience I have ever received. Not only did the sales rep try to sell me things I did not want, he blatantly lied to me. Verizon was running a promotion where if you switch to an installment plan, you receive a $25 monthly credit. Yet I was told that I needed to buy $100 worth of accessories in order to get this deal. When I spoke with customer service at Verizon, I was told this was an outright lie. This was truly an unethical and manipulative maneuver. Furthermore, when I spoke to the manager to try to remedy the situation, I was told that I was the one who was lying. I did not think the situation could get any worse until it did. The manager, Antonio Ortiz, clearly runs a deceptive, unethical, deceitful business that is a disgrace to a genuinely reputable company. I highly discourage anyone from taking their business here. Anything that you can get from this store can now be done online in a day or two. Trust me, the wait is well worth avoiding the horrific, deceptive people that work at this store. read more
