He is stern but honest and seems very knowledgeable, up-to-date, and fair in his treatment of animals. We were able to get our cat treated as we wished, but also learned a lot from Dr. Teachout and will return there for more care. The vet tech/assistant was also incredibly helpful and informative, and the front desk worker could not have been more kind or polite. My only complaint would be logistic -- they could use more seating in their lobby, but that's a small complaint to the utter insanity we dealt with at the two previous vets here in Yankton.

The vet said this was his "first mistake" which I highly doubt. After her second surgery, they still charged me for anesthesia which was around $100, she didn't go into heat till a few months later but by than I was out of the state traveling. The tech finally came in and acted like a used car salesman trying to upsell a blood work panel, which was unnecessary; when I declined, she just took my cat and walked out the door. I was not allowed to be present for the physical exam. I didn't see the veterinarian until after all the work was done. When the vet finally came in, she did not have any clue what breed my cat was, said they did not do the blood work, said she needed surgery and did not offer her any pain meds or anything. When I went to check out, the front desk gal was so rude and never answered my questions. They just told me about the dates when they had an opening for surgery, which I had to set up that day. I called Tea Clinic to cancel my appointment - Bonnie was the rudest person ever. It was like she was mad that I was going somewhere else, and when I asked her why I was charged for the pre-surgical blood work that never happened, she said she was just at the front desk today and had no idea, then put me on hold. When I asked her to transfer the x-ray and other documents they had for my cat, she rudely said, "If they want them, they have to call us." Which made no sense when they transferred it all over to my current vet. I will not go to a clinic for my animals if they want to lie about a blood work that never happened, don't offer my cat any pain meds when Dr. Ray said she was in pain, etc. All they look at is the $$$ they can take from people, and if the vet, Dr. Andrea Ray, had no clue of my cat's breed, why on God's green earth do you think I would trust you with her? She is my family, not a toy! They are the rudest vet clinic I have ever seen and don't care what you want to be done. They do what they feel and know you must pay for it. The entire staff needs to take a course on loving animals and respecting their owners. I highly recommend Sioux Falls clinics for much cheaper and better care. People have bad days, but when you are at work, don't take it out on a customer who wants what is best for their animals!

I have always had a good experience while there and referred many friends and family members. Today however on the phone was a different story. Whoever (female) makes there calls needs coaching on her tone and the way she talks to people. First of all, she called me at work to confirm my pets appt AGAIN for the next day. I said yes, we would be there. She continued to say due to my missed appointments they needed a $50 dep to keep my appt. OK? since when?? When did I miss an appt? Why have I never been told this before? I come there all the time. I have 3 pets. When I asked that, they couldn't even find a missed appt. It has seemed to me that ever since they got their new building and new management, there customer service has gone to just crap!!!! (which I heard is the vet's wife...shouldn't mix business and home life) - this explains poor customer service. I am so disappointed. What was once my favorite place to go has now insulted me, added to my troubles, and left me sad and feeling bad, and my poor baby still needs to be seen. I will miss my vet and Mindy. Please send all my records to my new office upon request. Hopefully your office works on your customer service skills because believe me, I'm not the only one who feels this way!!!
