I arrived at the park a few minutes before the event started and was able to experience it's beauty. First, there is no playground or basketball courts, but it is rather more of a community park where people can get together. For example, they had a Little Free Library, benches where people were taking and a large open area where you can have catch! Many kids were having a catch or climbing their large trees. Around the entire park is a long, well-maintained cement trail! It is great to just walk on it and see the beautiful park, which has tons of flowers and statues! You can even use the trail at night as it has lights in it! One statue showed a boy and girl sitting on a bench together. That pretty much represents what the park is! There is also a reflexology walk. Though, you have to take your shoes off to properly use it. The rally itself was very nice and showed hope for America. U.S. Congressman Dwight Evans as well as State Representatives Daylin Leach and Mary Jo Daley spoke! This park is also run by a group called Friend's of Linwood Park who keeps it clean and up to date. They also host tons of events including Movie Nights and a day where exotic animals came! Altogether, this is an amazing park to have fun at!

Apparently, you can't play tennis on Sunday due to the Ashbridge Will. I'm not actually sure if the rule is enforced because the doors are not locked.! The courts themselves, are pretty nice. The lines are visible and there are little to no cracks on them. Though, there are only two courts. While none of the courts are shaded there is a shaded area right by the courts. In that area is picnic benches where kids and families have picnics and birthday parties. There is a pretty large playground with slides, monkey bars, a spider-web climbing structure and more! That must be fun for the kids! There is also two bathroom with water fountains. The water is solid and ice cold! There is also a large walking trail that goes around the park! Altogether, this is a great park to have fun at!

We were on our way into the city and met up with some friends for an impromptu play date. This park is really cool, with lots of modern play equipment for both younger tots and older kids. My 6 year old really enjoyed the "spider web." There is lots of parking and lots of space for the kids to play and it's right in the heart of the main line off of Montgomery Ave in Bryn Mawr. We'll definitely take the kids here again if we're in the area.

It's a beautiful, beautiful park. Always clean and well maintained. Pristine most times. There are well-maintained ball fields, and an adequate amount of park benches and picnic tables. !!!!! There are also clean restrooms !!!! There is a beautiful paved, mature tree lined walking path around the perimeter which I'm guessing is about a half a mile in length. The community takes advantage of this local gem. Today I saw people doing yoga in the park and preschoolers having a very fun soccer lesson set to music with an energetic instructor. Kudos to Lower Merion for all they do to keep this park special.

Elwell Field is a great park/playground that is on our rotation of places to go with the kiddo…read more There are multiple play structures including a large wooden play structure that offers multiple stories of things to play on. Underneath has some pretend items for smaller kids to play in. Multiple slides including one enclosed 2 story slide that is a favorite of ours. 2 additional stand-alone slides, a geodesic dome, swings... plenty of things for everyone to play on! There is also a couple of baseball fields that are catty-corner to one another with some grass in between. There are two tennis courts that are in really great shape and two basketball courts that are usually open. The park is adjacent to the Haverford College nature trail which is a nice way to extend a park visit or change up the walk to and from the park. Parking is a bit of a pain in the butt, only street parking however it is worth the hassle.

Fun fact: Decades ago, this property was the site of the Haverford State Mental Hospital, which…read moreoperated from 1964-1998. In 2006 Haverford Township sold the property to a developer with requirements that part of the land be kept for public recreation. These 5 miles of trails are the result, along with a rec center, dog park and athletic fields. On an unusually warm winter day Sheba and I went for a hike along the trails. We entered by the rec center, then followed the creek bed to the meadow & back. We passed a pollinator garden and some disc golf sites. It's a lovely hike any time of year. Trail markings are minimal, this would be the principal reason for a 4 star review. We could see the heavy autumn rains have taken a toll in a decent amount of trail erosion, leaving mazes of roots spread across the paths. As the property borders a busy highway we never quite got to the peaceful sounds of the deep woods. I highly recommend you have a photo of the trail map with you as it's not hard to get turned around. Wear good sturdy shoes, and a walking stick is not a bad idea. We swill definitely be back.

The ground is made of soft rubber material. There are a bunch of benches for parents to relax on. :) There are bathrooms right next to the playground. Around are fields and nature trails. One of the trails along the creek has a nice spot for kids to jump in and get a little wet.

It is quite modest, a corner spot on Haverford Station Rd and Montgomery Ave, but it has some statues\sculptures, trash cans, bird feeders and places to sit. Nice path thru and some pretty flowers. Doggo approves and loves to visit. One strange thing, we have only been there a few times, but each time someone road thru on a bike...I'd think no bikes were allowed in this little sanctuary. They have swings for bigger kids, a pair of swings for babies, and a few swings that are adapted for kids with special needs. Many slides of many different heights, including two that are two stories tall. There is even a really cool "elevator" pole that has a platform that slowly decends when someone stops onto it, then returns up top when the person steps off. Not sure which came first, the name or the fun play element. The ground is made of the rubberized pavement which is nice under foot. They have a few tables as well as some benches for parents to sit and take a break or have a little picnic. In the park there is also a few fields including a baseball diamond. Parking can be limiting because of its popularity but I haven't had any issues thus far.

The park is much deeper than it appears from the road and parking area. It includes the playground, 2 tennis courts, 1 basketball court, a rain garden, open playing fields, and restrooms. There seem to be fewer benches than I'd expect. The renovations really spruced up this park. Check it out!
