We contacted her months before to set up the maternity session. She bounced ideas off us as to what our favorite colors were, she asked us to send photos of ourselves and wanted to know what type of feel we wanted for the photos. She really wanted to know us better so she could photograph us better, awesome! Maternity session day came and we met at her photography studio. She actually had several dresses and gowns for my wife to wear, one of which was amazing. We headed out to the forest, literally some field to catch the evening light. We would walk through the trees, something would catch her eye, she would take some pictures. Did this for about an hour. She was super easy to work with. The photos came out nothing short of stunning! Then it was time for baby! We called her as soon as he was born and got in when he was just a few days old. She has a studio that she warms (babies this young like the warmth) for the pictures. She also uses sound machines, has a nice couch for us to sit on, and provides all of the items she would need to use for the baby. You just sit back and she does her magic. For each photo session (maternity and newborn) we were invited back to her studio so we could pick through our favorites. There is no pressure to buy a bunch of stuff, but she does take a lot of amazing pictures, you may want all of them! After not receiving responses, I had to follow up on June 16 just to get an answer. I toured the venue on June 19 and came back for a second tour on July 23 because we were seriously considering booking our wedding there. After the second tour, I followed up on July 28 to let them know we wanted to move forward with booking. Since then, I've heard absolutely nothing, despite multiple follow-up emails. It should not take weeks to receive a response from a wedding venue, especially when a couple is ready to sign a contract and pay a deposit. Communication is one of the most important parts of planning a wedding, and this experience was incredibly frustrating. If communication is this poor before booking, it doesn't inspire confidence in what the rest of the planning process would be like. The venue itself is beautiful, but based on my experience, I would not book here and cannot recommend it to other couples. There are plenty of venues that value their clients and communicate in a timely manner.

The venue allows you to choose where you hold your ceremony and it's up to the bride and groom to bring shade or alert guests if they need to bring umbrellas or their shade etc. As for any scents, we never smelt manure or anything foul from the dairy farm down the road. The venue has no control over that either; with that being said, we had 300 guests who had no issues and all who gave us so many compliments on the venue. It is very private and excluded from the hustle and bustle of daily life allowing us and our guests to step into our fairy-tale just for our day.
