Although the initial service was unfortunate and subpar, I believe the customer service, which involved Brown's taking full responsibility and monetary remedies, warrants an upgrade in review. My family will be using Brown's again (hopefully not anytime soon though!).

Starting with Faith, who did a professional job prior to my mother's death working thru the original cemetery contract that was many years old and then preparing the current contract for us. Faith was kind and professional even though we were across the state, we had confidence that all the details would be taken care of and they were. Bree at the Mortuary was also professional and sensitive regarding details after my mother passed on Mother's Day. She helped with the transport of the body across the state and preparing the body for burial. They were so understanding, available all the time to answer our questions and were genuine with everything they did. He is very honest and a class act in our book. They gave the utmost respect for my dad while in their care and worked hard to get the things my dad wanted for his funeral. I cannot believe how comforting and attentive they were to our entire family. Legacy went out of their way to accommodate and make us feel loved. To top it off, Jerry even offered his suit jacket to my mother on the day of the funeral as the rain poured down. You CANNOT get any better than that. From the very beginning, there was a lot of miscommunication and confusion regarding the services that we needed. Tj the owner took advantage of our vulnerability during this difficult time and since the first phone call has never reached back out to me but instead has had his employees speak to us instead of himself. Not to mention when I picked up my fathers ashes I heard his nasty phone call conversation with his employee. You can hear through your walls just FYI. After my father was in their care, there were constant add-ons to the original agreement that we had made. They charged us for things that were never discussed and made us feel like we had to pay for them in order to give our father a proper send-off. It was a very stressful and disheartening experience. I would not recommend this funeral home to anyone. They took advantage of our grief and made a difficult time even more challenging. I suggest looking for a more reputable and compassionate funeral home that has your best interests at heart.

We had an image of an abandoned 'Wild West' graveyard. Looking at Whitewater Cemetery from the road…read moreyou would think it was a very small, unpopulated cemetery. 1895 was the oldest headstones we found. We did find a couple newer ones from 2016. The walk is very pleasant, and the view is incredible. To reach the cemetery, take Highway 50 through Whitewater, and turn North on Blair Road. Shortly after that turn, watch for a sign on the right directing you to the cemetery. A short dirt road follows.
