They have a tennis/basketball court that stays lit up until 10pm. (If it is off for inactivity there is a button on the outside rear corner to turn them on, it will cut off by timer and have to be reset but will permanently go off at 10 pm) They have clean restrooms and a water fountain. There is a half mile paved walking trail around the pond with a covered pavilion, playgrounds and picnic tables all around the walking trail. My favorite part of this park is that with the police station right next door I feel safe here at any hour!!

I came back to enjoy this beautiful park because it held such great memories for me. It is Labor Day weekend and there were 2 other cars in the parking lot. I left because I didn't want to have to pay a hefty fine if the park ranger came around. It's a shame really. Charge a day use fee, but allow others to enjoy the park as well without having to pay such an exorbitant fee.

My BF grew up in the area and says this new park/lake has all of the fish that was once housed in Line Creek Parks lake. Long story short it sounds like the two lakes got combined and is now a bigger better lake known as Lake McIntosh. I believe the park opened in July 2013. The entrance that we used is at the end if TDK Blvd and I believe the complex was called Southpark something :-) . It's a 1-2 minutes from the PTC Airport. If you blink you will miss it so be on the lookout. Turn off Joel Cowan Pkwy onto TDK Blvd and get your $10 ready! There is a paved walking trail, restrooms, a gazebo, benches along the trail, a playground for the kids and much more! You can dock your boats here too. Fishing requires a GA Fishing permit. There is a $10 park entrance fee if you are NOT a resident of Fayette County. You can bring your pets as long as they remain leashed and of course you should make sure to clean up after Fido or Kitty! This is PTC so you have the option of jumping in one of the family Golf Carts (Apparently you can rent them as well) or your Automobile to get there. There is parking there for both. Unfortunately, we took the golf cart because I wanted the experience of riding around PTC in a golf cart. Of course, it was a scorcher that day. Now, my Father told me often times that you should learn something new every day of your life. On this day,I learned to ride around PTC in the damn truck when it's 95 + degrees outside! I would have given a 5 Star but I need proof that there are fish up in the spot first and there is NO SWIMMING ALLOWED! ***We visited again in mid December 2015 and were happy to see that the fish are finally ready. We will be back to see how well we do once our boat is done with repairs.

There is a house on the left before you get there "like within 400 feet" the has A millstone, gas pump, and other things on the property. Keep going as that is A personal residence do not get out to take pictures. When you arrive you will see a Beautiful damn with lots of running water going over the top. As you walk around the property there will be many photo ops so keep your eyes open, the beautiful man made pound is just one of them "not including the mill itself. The parking is ample (and paid) and has space for horse trailer parking as well. As I arrived at the main area I took a moment to review the board. The board educated me that there were multiple trail options. Also, the routes vary by skill level and miles. I was so excited. As today was my non-gym day I decided to go for the Yellow Trail as it is Moderate in effort and is 3-4 miles. I was slightly confused at first, however, there was an entry to the trail towards the back of the parking area. Once I found it, it was all go from there. LoL! The trail was easy to follow as the path is easily identifiable. The woods are quiet and personal. There was a sense of peace as I was walking through the woods. The different levels of elevation provide for an enhanced view of the general area. I'm talking absolutely gorgeous. The spots of water provide a moment of serenity as you get lost in the sounds of water going down the stream. The path was fun as it was up, down, and all around. I had a blast. Truly, a blast. As I was getting to the end I got lost. lol. Thanks to All Trails for tracing my route as I was able to retrace my steps. Next time I'll pay better attention to where I parked so I can know where to go back to. Ha!! Today was amazing. Great air. Great trail. Great time.

(Southern Conservation Trust) I visited on opening day, August 13th, 2016. This expansive nature area has many features. There's hiking, geocaching, fishing, canoeing and more! I even remember seeing a landscape painter stationed quietly along one of the hiking paths. Fayette county is really expanding. After Pine Wood movie studios moved in, things have been growing rapidly. The timing was perfect for creating a nature area. "The Ridge is a City of Fayetteville public green space project. After years of desiring to develop the nature area, the City engaged Southern Conservation Trust to develop and manage the public use nature area."(Southern Conservation Trust) "Over 200 acres of the 308 acres of the Ridge that are not wetlands were clear cut in the 1820's, and farmed up to the mid 1960's, with only a few patches remaining of "old growth" trees or vegetation." (Southern Conservation Trust) After hiking along some of the trails, you can tell the land used to be farm. There were left over tree houses, metal barrels (stills), rope swings & places where cows rubbed bark off trees and waded in the shallow creek. I went by myself because on opening day there were many people there & I felt safe. I'd never go by myself on a day unlike opening day because the park is very expansive. You can be by yourself for hours- if you'd like. This park would be perfect for a group hike & picnic. I'm happy to have this green space set aside in Fayette County especially as our county grows expansively.
