I took one of my young pigs that were having a neurological event, I called that morning they got him in, in hours. They treated him did bloodwork. They are located in a great spot. Lots of parking off to the side of the building or in front of the building. The only thing I was disappointed about was the cost of everything done. They never told me any of the cost for anything until I got up to the front counter to pay my bill. Here I'm thinking 100 oh no it was 800.00. This included the fee to send the bloodwork elsewhere to be tested to figure out what the problem was. ****they accept Care Credit...Credit cards, cash, debit cards. Checks probably if a long customer I really enjoyed the vets and the techs at the clinic. They did respond to all of my questions and concerns, my pet pig did great after the visit and never had another episode One of the Vets called back a few weeks later to give me the results from the bloodwork Overall experience I would say a 4 out of 5. That 5th star is deducted for not discussing the cost before hand. I will an am going back to them for more care of my cats read more

Although we had not used them before, they were the only clinic that answered the phone after hours when we had an emergency. Were very prompt to show up and did a great job! read more

Saved our dog by years!!! We turned our trust over to Vet Associates and Dr. Gressard when our dog was faced with the choice of surgery to remove her second eye. We wanted to best for our dog and we're not sure that being blind was the best choice. We went forward with it and are so glad we did!! She, with the help of Dr Gressards surgical abilities and care and brilliant zip ties on the collar idea.. has thrived! She enjoys life and is able to do so much, she is confident! Too confident! She ended up breaking her leg because with her can do anything attitude got herself in a predicament. Dr. Gressard to the rescue! He magically fixed an almost unfixable break on a senior dogs back leg. This might seem ridiculous, but our dogs attitude is glowing with joy and our children have a great fondness for her so... we went on. The Vet associate team kept checking her progress and giving the best of advice for rest and recovery. She has her leg healed now and she is back to her confident self and we are enjoying her blind now for over a year. We are so thankful, She would not still be part of this life without the Vet associated team. They continue to be our animal angels in a practical, realistic, sympathetic and caring way! mahalo Nui!!!! read more

The staff and doctors at this veterinary practice are the best...They care for their patients first and foremost. They greet the patients and their human companions with a smile and ask probing questions to help the technicians and doctors do their work. Their fees are reasonable and their care is exceptional. My little pup got very sick and her regular vet was out with a medical issue. I called every vet in Hilo, Keaau & Puna and not one was willing to take an emergency case. Thankfully one suggested I try Veterinary Associates. I called them and they said no problem, bring her up. Little Girl spent two days in their care and was then able to come home feeling tons better and healing. The drive from Lower Puna to Waimea was more than worth it! The entire staff were caring, sweet and professional. If I lived closer I would happily make them our go-to veterinary. read more

I am a long time client (25+ years), took over 20+ dogs there, spent tens of thousands of dollars at Vet Associates Kamuela. The ONE time I needed Emergency After hours services, they blew me off and to this day, never returned my call. My girl was scheduled to be put down on a Sat. She didn't make it through the night, collapsed screaming in pain. They had 2 vets on call, called them both, neither ever returned my call. Shame on you Dr. Hamilton and more so, shame on you Dr. Woods. You saw Goldie from birth, practically raised her.. and you turned your back on her during her hour of need. Shame on Vet Associates. I thought vets had an obligation to do what is right for the animals in their care..I don't know how you can sleep at night... UPDATE: 3/1/2017 Got a call from Dr. Woods. She apologized for not getting my call. So I guess stuff happens and I will try and go back to Vet Associates sometime in the near future and see if I am happy again. I'm very disappointed with this outfit. I adopted a dog recently that was not healthy and needed help. After an exam and x-rays it was determined that two surgical procedures were necessary. Some time later, I was granted financial assistance and tried to contact the vet to schedule surgery. The receptionist stated that the doctor was not on the office and that she would contact me when the doctor responded. It has been weeks since the diagnosis and I have yet to hear from them. I can only guess as to why they don't respond. One thing I found out is that there are very few animal surgeons on the island that can do one of the procedures. In any event, their lack of a response is not the signature of a professional organization. I would be very cautious about using their services, especially in an emergency. read more

Just got finished with an appointment for my kitty at this clinic and we absolutely love it! Dr. Hamilton was awesome!
