The Continental Club - Bar area

    The Continental Club

The space is cozy with a great atmosphere, and they have a nice selection of drinks at the bar, beer, wine, cocktails and THC Drinks. The only downside is that it can get crowded pretty quickly and it is a walk no matter where you park. So be prepared if you're attending a popular event. This past weekend, I went for their Bastille Day celebration, and it was fantastic! They had delicious food from Breakfast in Paris, beautiful aerial performances, local art including caricatures, and live jazz music that made the whole evening feel festive and unique. It was a well-rounded event with something for everyone. You can tell this place is locally-owned and locals enjoy it. If you're looking for a local spot that hosts creative community events in addition to having a great bar, the Continental Club is definitely worth checking out. I mean the decor alone is worth the visit- disco balls, mannequins, comfy chairs. and local art. I already plan to attend more events there in the future!

Housed in part of an old mill, it makes for an incredibly unique space. The club is broken up into two spaces, a gallery and the bar. The bar is incredibly eclectic, with so much fun and interesting decor to look at. The bar also has a full bar, though the drink prices are on the higher side. The bar tender was very friendly and quick at getting drinks made. They also have a full size piano for music, and I'm told other performers will also bring their own instruments for events to have live music. The parking lot is a bit tight, and shared spots with the Back Table. So some may need to find street parking depending on the size of the event. They don't serve food and my only real complaint is about the lighting. They have a lot of red and blue lights, which may be apparent based on the photos, but when it comes to looking at art, it may be hard to see because of the distortion from the lighting.

Saint Francis is a small but pretty neighborhood church with a pre-school program. While Saint…read moreFrancis people and clergy are encouraging and supportive, they are not aggressive nor are they dogmatic. This is not a "fire and brimstone" experience, but the expression of God's Love for neighbors and visitors. If you enjoy traditional music at Christmas, Easter and Sundays, they have a well-developed music program and welcome new singers to audition for their adult choir. Some previous choir experience is preferred, including high school experience. Contact the choirmaster Sam to find out more. There are many families here with parents, adult children, and friends serving in the Saint Francis' adult choir. The church also has opportunities for children and youth to sing in their own choirs and there is a less formal group of singers and guitar players with a more pop focus. You do not have to be an Episcopalian or Anglican, just friendly ;-) Saint Francis holds a large book sale every year to help fund charity outreach projects in Greensboro. If you like to pitch in with service projects, there are several to volunteer for. Service, music, fellowship all are a part of this church, but no one is ever forced to do more than they want to. If you like a neighborhood church with a traditional feel, you'll enjoy Saint Francis Episcopal.
