The music outside is great and you can just enjoy that without purchasing anything!! I heard when a waiter told a couple, go inside and wait "I have a table!" When they barely arrived and I saw when they were added to the back of list!! Owner must pay attention to the service !!!!

They insisted that everyone remained completely silent although we did not see a single person actually doing the work of making wine. They said aggressively over and over silencio, as if we were in the Vatican. Mind you, there wasn't a single person behaving disrespectfully in the large group. The groups are very large, 40 people. They barked their presentation at us as if we were insubordinate young children and they were nuns. The sparking swill we were presented at the end was fuzzy sugar water with a bitter finish. Absolutely undrinkable for a champagne fanatic. I've toured dozens of wineries all over the world, this was unquestionably the worst experience given the rudeness, draconian policies, and terrible product. If you have any understanding of wine, don't waste your time. I suggest visiting the Valley Guadalupe. They produce exceptional product there including brut style sparkling that would surprise and delight any fan of Champagne. The wineries in that region are stunning and the people are gracious and welcoming.

The wine (vino tinto) options, particularly regarding their reds depends on your taste. If you're accustomed to full body award winning wine from places such as Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, etc, then you'll likely be highly disappointed. Their wines are very lite, overly fruity, and have little tannins. However, if you enjoy/prefer sweet whites & reds, you'll likely find something you like. Pro-Tip: They DO NOT offer wine tastings, so be very selective on the bottle purchase. Although, you can purchase some of their wines per glass, however with the cost of two glasses of wine, you can get an entire bottle.

But the wine absolutely sucks. Then again, that's true for just about all Mexican wine. I keep giving them a chance, not only from this region but also from Baja California and I have yet to find one I like. The vineyard grounds are very cool and the food looked good at the restaurant, though I can't speak for its taste. There are three main areas where you can sit: at the restaurant under the tent, on the grass in front of the tasting bar where you can also buy bottles. And a large open area in front of the grass before the bar. Four of us got two bottles of wine. A reserve Cab and a young Syrah. Both sucked, but some employee (presumably) did us a huge favor by jacking one of our bottles while we went and took a picture. A solid 1/3 of the bottle remained but his or her quick nab didn't upset me.

A dinner here represents opulence and power, and even though a myriad of restaurants have opened in the last years, Josecho still remains the standard for elegant dinners throughout the city. The eponymous restaurant is the type of place that Querétaro's socialites go to see and be seen, but also to eat and eat well. In the mold of restaurants in Mexico that attract the rich and the powerful, the utmost level of attention is provided during service, in a manner that powerfully evokes the distinction between social classes that still permeates Mexico's culture to this day. Expensive wine bottles, elegant live music, local celebrities, and round tabletops that exude power through the loud cheers of liquored-up men, are part of the atmosphere here. If you are part of the Querétaro's most powerful inner circle, you might even get to sit in the upstairs dining room, reserved only for those who can afford the luxury of such privacy. However, once you receive your elegantly plated food, all else fades to the background, as the food itself is brought to the forefront in a delight of the palate. The menu here is one that is typical, read traditional, of the high class Mexican restaurants of old, serving international cuisine with a Mexican twist; salads such as Caesar and Mixed, and the ubiquitous house special; a selection of soups and broths; cuts of meat that almost always include Arrachera; chicken, fish, and to finish, chocolate mousse and other traditional favorites. Although the menu may seem dated, and at times not too exciting or special, the flavor almost always satisfies, and that spark of excitement might be found unexpectedly in your plate. The Escamoles are delicious as an appetizer, crispy yet soft and packed with flavor, the ultimate luxury dish from Mexican prehispanic culture, and a must-have at Josecho. If you are a meat person, definitely order any type of cut here. Even though the sides may not shine, the meat is expertly cooked and seasoned. Paired with a Merlot from Casa Madero, this course will make you feel like as part of Querétaro's elite. Always order dessert in a restaurant like this one, it will always be comforting, with familiar flavors that might not be combined into something new, but are elegantly paired and as such enjoyed. A meal at Josecho will always exude luxury, pleasure, and satisfaction. A true five star experience in service, food, and ambience, and definitely a standard for white tablecloth restaurants in the city.
