Back in 2019 I decided I was going to ring in my 40th bday in Spain in 2020 (little did I know the world had other plans for us). Someone had recommended Spain Unspoilt as a luxury travel agency in Spain and I reached out to Elana to start planning. I knew my husband and I wanted to go to Spain, but hadn't quite decided where in Spain. Thanks to Elena's help we narrowed it down to Barcelona and San Sebastián based on our interests, length of travel time and where my husband had been in Spain in the past. The trip was set for May 2020, which obviously didn't happen, but I didn't give up. And 2 years later just wrapped up a magnificent trip to Barcelona and San Sebastián that was well worth the wait. Thanks to Elena and her team we didn't have to do any planning ahead of time besides booking our own hotels. They'll do this for you, but we prefer to research and book our own (and Elena confirmed our choices of Hotel Arts Barcelona and Maria Cristina in San Sebastián were good choices). I do suggest looking over the itinerary carefully because they had the dates a bit mixed up from when we were staying in each place, but they fixed it as soon as I alerted them. All tours/activities and restaurants were booked by Spain Unspoilt. And everything could not have been more perfect. In Barcelona we did a Picasso tour, gaudi highlights tour and a market tour with a food critic. Shoutout to our amazing guides: ona, ester and Alex for taking us under their wings. Barcelona was amazing, but San Sebastián was extra special. Spain Unspoilt had set up special experiences via Basque Tours for a pintxo tour, wine/cheese day, and day trip to villages in France. All their restaurants were also spot on (a mixture of casual and Michelin) and being an avid yelper I am extra picky when it comes to restaurant selections. Everything was so well organized that we didn't need to contact them much during our trip besides a restaurant reservation mix up (they fixed it right away) and assistance getting home for a trip delay due to some health issues. I wasn't able to reach them when I called the main # but learned email during the day or Elena's # is the best way to contact them. Now I just need to find a Spain Unspoilt in all the other countries I plan to visit in my lifetime, but when I make it back to Spain (hopefully soon) I'll plan to be in touch with them again.

Problems ranged from not sending the tour guide that we paid for to sending us on a boat trip to the caves ( clearly documented in the itinerary we signed off on) but once out in the boat for an hour the skipper told us we didn't sign up to see the caves and they were no where close to where we were. Elana the head of the company kept trying to tell us that we didn't order a tour guide or didn't sign up to see caves despite the fact that we had in writing exactly what we were promised. Overall they were really made a bad situation even worse.

This was late August & early September of 2024. I went in with no particular ideas. After a series of questions to get to know what my family did and didn't like, and only about 4 exchanges back and forth, Angela had created a completely custom, amazing and unforgettable trip for us! The trip included hotels, transfers, train tickets, entry tickets, tours, guides, and so much more!! Every person that represented the company did an amazing and very professional job. We did not have a single issue! Here is the bulk of what we did: Land in Barcelona for three nights and stayed a great hotel in an amazing location. We did wine tasting, food tasting (ask for David! He had us in stitches!), flamenco show at the concert hall, and an Gaudi tour (with guide and driver) in Barcelona. They booked us the high speed train (around 5 hours) to Seville. Once again, amazing hotel in a great location for 3 nights. We did a guided walking city tour, a different flamenco show, and day trip to Costa de la Cruz (with guide and driver). Seville was just wonderful! Then one of their drivers drove us to our next destination in Cascais (a beautiful beach city just outside of Lisbon). We stopped at lovely Evora on the way. Once again, the hotel in Cascais was topnotch! The next day we had a driver and guide take us around Lisbon. So lovely and so much to see! If Florence Italy and San Francisco had a baby, it would look like Lisbon. I love that city! Next day we had a driver and guide for Sintra. You DO NOT want to miss the palace in Sintra! It is just breathtaking!! And that evening they booked us a private sailing on a catamaran in Cascais. Sooooo relaxing and beautiful!!! Leaving Cascais, we had a driver that took us to Porto with a religious stop in Santarem (for the eucharistic miracle there) and Fatima. Both were my request, and they fit it in wonderfully! If you are Catholic, you have to visit those two places in Portugal! Final stop that day was Porto. Again, loved he hotel in Porto for the 3 night stay. We were right in the hubbub near the train station. We did a lovely city walking tour with a guide in Porto. We enjoyed an AMAZING cooking class there and did a full day of wine tasting too. You CANNOT miss the wine tasting in the Duro Valley. These are views that are some of the most outstanding vineyard views you will ever see (puts Tuscany, Italy and Napa, CA to shame). We loved learning about the port wines too! I think that's a wrap. It was an absolutely amazing and unforgettable trip. Carameltrails made all the dreams come true, and only in handful of messages and phone calls. They are professionals through and through. I would highly recommend their services.

She listened to our priorities and interests, designed a trip that met our needs (and our finances), and stayed involved even to the point of helping us with reservations and questions during the trip. In advance of the trip, Angela sent us helpful materials and she provided suggestions for both dining and free time activities when we weren't with the guides she arranged. The guides and hotels were excellent, as was Angela's advice on a myriad of topics. If you're going to Spain, Portugal, and/or Morocco and looking for a travel agent, I'd recommend Carameltrail and Angela without reservation.

I suppose it fell into the 48 hour "cancellation" . Frantic, we scurried to find a new tour, as a tapas tour was a highlight of our stay in Madrid. Not the best way to begin our Spain adventure. However, Emily responded within HOURS of my request for a tour during our stay. We made arrangements for a tour in two evenings. Emily took us to tapas locations off the beaten path and also great social, traditional locations. Emily chose locations that would serve pescetarian dishes, accommodating my dietary needs. We sampled amazing wine, but also fabulous beer and sangria. She was great to talk to and easy going, making the night light, enjoyable, and memorable. Emily went above and beyond the call of "tour guide". She emailed us great restaurant recommendations, directions, even a reminder about the Madrid marathon and possible road closures before and during our stay! Unbelievable! (And quite useful!) The irony- the other travelers scheduled on the tour that night had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. Emily still ran the tour for the two of us. Professional indeed! Each bar had a special dish and we tried them all. Our first stop was a place that specializes in ham and fried egg "nachos"....need I say more? Absolutely delicious! We had a great tour group and interacted very well with each other and our tour guides. We still keep in touch with Emily and Juan to this day. Buena suerte amigos!

The tour takes about 2.5 hours with a 10-15 minute coffee/bathroom break in the middle. Definitely plan to wear comfortable walking shoes, as the tour covers quite a bit of ground. Our tour started at Plaza Mayor (just took for the red Sandemans umbrella) and ended at Plaza de Isabel II. While it is free to sign up, remember to bring cash if you choose to tip your tour guides at the end. Overall, the tour was a great introduction to the city of Madrid. We learned a lot (always remember 1561!) and highly recommend the experience!

We went to Portugal and Spain - Madrid and Seville. In Seville I booked a walking tour with flamenco show, the details in the itinerary stated the meeting point is for 20:00hrs at main entrance of Alfonso XIII Lucury Hotel, and we are to arrive 15 mins prior to departure at 20:00hrs As our hotel was quite a distance, we took a Bolt to Alfonso hotel. We arrived 20 mins prior to 20:00hrs but already knew something was amiss because we were the only 2 lost looking souls. We waited and about 19,50hrs we approached front desk to check if we are indeed in the correct address 2 San Fernando and they confirmed it. We also approached random groups and asked if they were part of Julia Travel English speaking walking tour, and none were part of this group. One tour guide suggested to call OUR GUIDE but there was no phone number provided. We waited past 20.00hrs and then contacted Klook Customer service and we explained and provided evidence ce of time of arrival, copy of our tour voucher with details of meet up location and also evidence we were in the correct address but Klook could not do much element escalate for further investigation. We left at 20.30hrs very disappointed and distressed on the no show! The next day after fornally writing in with my feedback and submitted the Evidence twice, Klook said the operator Julia Travel had reviewed my case and will not be refunding due to the operator policy. Operator policy is no cancellation and non refundable. My written messages to Julia Travel via an app was also never responded to. So guys, please beware of this. Julia Travel can cheat with a no show because of their non refundable policy which Klook cant do anything about, means you would lose the entirety of the cost of booking the tour. Klook offered a compensation of 30% in Klook Cash which I doubt I'll ever need as this trip was 10 years worth of savings. I am so upset with the dishonesty of Julia Travel. It really marred our otherwise, lovely few days in Seville. Shame on Julia Travel!

The city tours that come with the package are sometimes delayed and they don't correct the behavior or people, so then you rush, you cannot take good pictures. The extra tours they offer are mostly rushed and conditions offered are not comfortable. For example, we payed the extra tour to Pompeii/ Capri, we almost rushed through Pompeii, couldn't take pictures or go to the restrooms, we got to the dock to go to Capri the boat was exhaustingly hot and uncomfortable, then they rush you up the mountain instead of giving you free time, you get stuck on an overcrowded elevator to the top, for only 30 minutes then overcrowded elevator down to eat quickly and maybe explore the beach 20/30 minutes, then back on the hot boat. Horrible experience and their most expensive one. Most tour guides and bus drivers were not friendly, and mostly spent time pushing their extra tours. Would not recommend this agency for your Europe trip. Instead do your homework, plan your trip and grab your tours on your own.

I highly recommend this if you are interested in a streamlined visit to the Prado really highlighting and focusing on particular noteworthy works. This worked well for me because I'm not as familiar with some of the artists whose work are showcased here, and I learned A LOT by taking this tour. You also stop for a little tapa and vermouth before having lunch at Botin, which was quite an experience. It's a tough reservation to get on your own, and enjoying it as part of this tour is well worth it. The second tour I did was the Ultimate Spanish Cuisine tour. This tour stopped at a variety of locations. We sampled porra (basically thick churros) and chocolate, "pregnant" sourdough buns stuffed with chorizo, a variety of olives, vermouth, boquerones, olive oil, several hams, some fruit, a cheese selection with wine pairing, and cake. It was a delicious and well-rounded food experience. Montse was my guide for both of these tours and she is absolutely fantastic! After meeting her on the first tour, I told her I was taking another tour and her office was able to schedule her to be my tour guide again for the second one. She actually studied art so she was extra knowledgeable at the Prado, but also had so much to share about Madrid and answered so many of our questions. I'm so glad I booked these tours with Devour on my trip. I would definitely consider their tours for other cities I visit in the future as well.

My experience was OK/as expected, but this would be a good activity for kids and/or the elderly. Got a ticket for 6.50 Euros - there's a stand in the middle of a plaza. They'll hand you some headphones (it's an audio tour) and ask that you walk a little up the street to where the train boards from. I don't recall how often the train runs - I'd imagine at least every hour or so. The "train" is your standard tour type of vehicle on wheels (like the ones at amusement parks) and the audio tours come in multiple languages (you plug in your headphones to appropriate language in front of your seat). I had some issues hearing the audio, even with the volume cranked up - had to manually push the headphones against my ear so I could hear better. If you have your own headphones, you might want to try those instead. They drive you around to different points in the town, and there was one pit stop at the top of a hill for you to take pictures (5 to 10 minutes). The entire ride lasted about 40 to 50 minutes. Overall, my experience was as expected - it wasn't the most exciting thing to do as a grown adult, but it's a nice break from walking. It can also allow you to see some sights at the start of your Toledo trip and you can go back and see the ones you liked in detail later.
