Music is a big deal for my wife and I and we had a 4hr dance floor, so we were extremely picky when selecting a DJ. We turned down all three DJ's we met at our wedding venue vendor day, but when we met Kaivan we immediately knew he'd be the perfect fit for us on the biggest day of our life. Kaivan has an unbelievably in-depth music knowledge. He's incredibly talented at mixing old beloved genres with current music and he has a an impeccable feel for the dance floor and for timing what to play next. He also allows his clients to truly share their musical tastes with him, so he's consistently playing what you want. Kaivan creates joint Spotify and SoundCloud (if preferred) playlists so you can continuously add songs and show Kaivan the style of music you truly love. But above all else, Kaivan is just the nicest and most genuine guy. For us, it was extremely important to have someone we felt comfortable with and trusted to run our entire operation. It was our wedding, so he actually MC'd the entire thing, as well as provided the equipment for the ceremony, speeches, etc.. but regardless of the event Kaivan overcommunicates with you and will make sure you are feeling taken care of. Then the night before the wedding, I lost my uncle. Needless to say that my family coming to the wedding was a bit of an emotional wreck...Sean was so amazing at reading the crowd at the wedding and kept playing dinner type music instead of full on funky dance music. Just him doing those simple things meant so much to me. Everyone was enjoying talking/singing at the tables, and I'm glad Sean understood that. We also had a lot of last minute details that my hubby got cold feet on (like the $$$ dance), along with our wedding schedule being 30mins AHEAD of schedule (unheard of!) but Sean was more than willing to help keep things moving smoothly. Sean also did a photo montage for after our dinner portion of the reception and it was adorable! So many pictures of my hubby that I hadn't even seen! He flat doesn't care. We also spoke to the restaurant owners, and they knew he has this tendency, as he had no showed them on previous occasions at events at their home. I think the restaurant gig was his chance to make it right. So, BRIDES BEWARE...he may or may not show up for your big day, and you need to be ok with this.

ZERO STARS -- One of the Most Distressing Vendor Experiences of My Career…read more I am a professional wedding planner writing this review on behalf of my couple, and I want to be very clear: in my ten years in this industry, I have never felt such shock, stress, or sadness for a couple on their wedding day because of a vendor. The DJ assigned to the event--who is also the owner--arrived hours late, offered no communication, and was visibly in no condition to work. When he arrived, he became unable to stand without assistance. At no point did he notify us in advance that he was severely ill, which would have allowed us to bring in a replacement and spare the couple an enormous amount of unnecessary stress. Because he could not unload or set up his equipment, the groomsmen--on a day meant to be joyful and celebratory--spent hours doing it themselves. We were moments away from delaying the ceremony because we were simply trying to get basic equipment functioning. Throughout the night, the DJ was almost entirely unable to perform. A wedding guest ultimately stepped in as the MC. The DJ spent most of the event resting in the groom's suite, and during the brief moments he attempted to be at his table, he did not appear able to operate his setup. The groomsmen then had to tear down and load all of the equipment at the end of the night as well. It was heartbreaking to watch the wedding party and guests fill roles they should never have been put in. This is not what anyone envisions for their wedding day. What has been especially difficult is what followed. Despite full transparency about what occurred, the owner has declined to issue any refund, stating that "services were performed." Given that the majority of the work was done by the wedding party and guests, this response has been incredibly disheartening. For additional context, the owner stepped in only because the originally assigned DJ had been unresponsive and unreliable in the weeks prior--a sign we hoped was isolated, but ultimately reflected a larger pattern. I am writing this review because I never want another couple to experience the level of anxiety, frustration, and disappointment this one endured. I strongly encourage future couples to choose a DJ service that is consistent, communicative, and prepared with proper contingency plans. A wedding day is far too important--and far too emotional--to be put at risk.
