We did an engagement photo shoot with Vicen and it was an amazing experience. Honestly, Shannon and Vicen are nice, pleasant, and professional. I recommend them to everyone for the reasons below. Shannon was so organized. She was great with instructions for the contract and setting up a date that would work for everyone. She also gave great style and location advice. This was our first shoot so we definitely needed the guidance. Most importantly, her communication was wonderful!! She was polite, fun, and responded in a timely manner. She also monitored the weather, which is important in the Bay Area. Vicen, the photographer, made us feel so comfortable, especially because we are a bit shy. He showed us how to pose and kindly started with simple poses before pushing us to think outside the box. He also has great attention to detail. My hair always parts funny and he noticed his small nuance fact and helped us fix it to get a good shot. He was on time and even went to scope out the place early. We loved it. His creativity and passion showed. Although we haven't see the final photos yet, we had a wonderful experience and Vicen showed us some on his digital camera. They looked really artsy and amazing. My wife and I hired Vicens to photograph our wedding. We had a tiny outdoor ceremony in the Berkeley hills, with just us and six close family members. We wanted the capture the gathering, but didn't want a photographer to get in the way of our intimate time with family or to make the more shy members feel self-conscious and removed from the moment, nor could we justify thousands of dollars on a conventional wedding package. Vicens gave us a very reasonable price for our ceremony, and more significantly, did an absolutely wonderful job. His documentary-style photographs were excellent, and I was amazed by how many moments and views he managed to capture perfectly in the course of a brief ceremony. Moreover, he was a delight to work with. He made himself invisible much of the time during the actual ceremony, but was such a warm and positive presence throughout the setup and execution of our little DIY event that he felt like part of the wedding party. Vicens instantly makes you feel comfortable. I met with 4 photographers and looked through countless photographer sites and tons of emails with many photographers. Vicens was the clear winner! Our meeting was actually over Skype, but we drank wine together talked about cameras, lenses, and of course covered the contract details. His wife mainly handles the contracts and professional stuff which allows Vicens to be creative and able to capture so much beauty in his photos. I honestly couldn't be happier. He took a ton of photos and I would say I LOVE like 80% of them (if you know anything about photography, you know that it is rare to have that many shots come out that are good) Vicens was patient, he took time to capture the perfect shot, he is detail- oriented and has you move if something in the background is throwing off the photo (like a tree that looks like it's growing from your head) I've seen other work where the photographer either doesn't care or notice these details, either way, that's not OK. Also, Vicens saw it was raining on our scheduled day, he took our pictures at city hall and offered to reschedule our photos that we planned to do outside. He went above and beyond, he drove to SF from Napa, in awful traffic twice to get perfect shots for us, I can't think of another photographer who would be willing to do this. AND, he got all of our edited photos to us in like 7 days! That's just incredible. Look at his artistry, pay attention to how well he captures everything, notice how none of his photos are "burned" and you should be able to see what makes him so special in a sea of thousands of photographers. If you're looking for someone who will take boring wedding photos, Vicens is not for you. He is spectacular and his work does not fall short of that. The entire process was so easy with the help of Vicens and his lovely wife, Shannon. We began with our engagement shoot in June 2017. The entire experience was really fun and Vicens made us feel comfortable while my fiancé and I were spinning around on the beach lol. The photos were so great that we even used them for our Save the Date and our Wedding Invitations. Our venue was Taber Ranch in Capay Valley, CA and we were able to meet up with Vicens during their annual Open House. We had the chance to meet Shannon in person (she's lovely and so sweet!) and we even got the chance to meet one of their sons and their pet dog. I walked away from our brief interaction telling my now husband that when we had kids, I hoped they would be as polite as Vicens and Shannon's son. He was really the politest kid I have ever meet! After seeing samples of Vicens art, I mean photographs, at a local Bridal Fair, we knew he was the one we wanted to use to capture the memories from our very special day. If you want the standard, run of the mill, wedding photos, about 95% of all other photographers shoot, then Vicens may not be a fit for you. Vicens is one of the most talented photographers in the world. We should all consider ourselves lucky that he has dedicated his career to weddings (which is a lot to ask! Brides are often tough to work with!) Vicens shot our engagement photo shoot in January 2016 and our wedding in March 2016. For the engagement shoot, Vicens was there early and spent far more time with us than we expected. He wasn't in a hurry and truly had our interests and the interests of getting the best photos given the lighting and location at heart, no matter how long it took. He even drove us to a different spot at the end to capture some views, then returned us to our car. Super nice!! You see that his work is quite dramatic, so if you want an engagement shoot that is more playful and less artistic, Vicens probably isn't your guy. For the wedding, he captured the essence of the day better than I could have ever imagined. You just have to trust his talent to capture all the little details. He'll do an amazing job. The only suggestion I have is to create a strong list of photographs that you want of family and friends, because you truly work straight from that in the tight timeframe you have after the ceremony. We had our wedding earlier this year. The best choice that we had made for our wedding was hiring Vicens as our photographer. His work was phenomenal and he has the most pleasant personality to work with. We had several different photo sessions with him (engagement, elopement, wedding ceremony/banquet). My husband and I were married in April and choosing Vicens as our photographer made our day even more special. The second we started looking through his portfolio we knew we were seeing something special. Something that you don't see everyday in any wedding album. Not only is his photography beautiful, but he is a beautiful person as well. We had the opportunity when we first met to also meet his wife Shannon (who is not only his partner in life but in business as well) and his two children. It provided such a unique experience to see how his work really is a part of him. He also has a huge heart. My husband and I decided to hire him for our wedding but with our budget could not afford an engagement session. Vicens very generously offered to provide that for us and it not only gave us some great memories and gorgeous photos, but allowed us an opportunity to work with him before the wedding and create a relationship that made the wedding day photography very comfortable.
