Annoying at times but not all bad. The drinks are better than the eating which is limited. Big place with lots of room inside. It's got a bar close to the front which has plenty of seating. There's also quite a few tables. Basic choices. Menu has about what to expect for a place like this. It's $4 for wells at happy hour. That's hard to beat it seems. It's about $7 for appetizers. Several to choose from including onion rings. Meaty choices among the entrees. There's burgers loaded with things like bacon, and macaroni and cheese with or without brisket toppings. Great place for happy hours. It's open daily even weekdays and has lots of specials. The food options include meaty things like burgers and wings.

You can easily find street parking behind, on the side, or in front of the location. We were informed we can sit wherever we would like. It was not extremely busy, so be picked a Hightower behind the bar. They did have a sign near the bar for different specials for each day of the week. We were greeted by our server who brought over waters and asked what we would like to drink. We ended up getting chicken nachos. They were good amd came to the table in a good time frame. Definitely big enough for two people. There was light music playing, so easy to hold conversations, tvs going and everyone seemed friendly that we came into contact with.

There were two waitresses in our area and it was clear ours was not as serious about their job as the other. We waited long enough after being seated to start to wonder id we had been forgotten. Two other tables (seated after us by the other waitress) had been seated and got drinks before our someone came to our table. When I did get my water it had plastic wrap in it. The other waitress took it from us to get a new one. No sorry, nothing. Acted like nothing happened. Our waitress delivered the new one 10 solid minutes later. It was Not super busy at this time. Why so long? And again no acknowledgement of the plastic.. couldnt get myself to drink anything else with worry of contamination of the ice box. Order the california chicken sandwich and brussel sprouts. My mother had the smash burger. She seemed to enjoy it though both sandwiches were stacked super tall and mine had two huge thick red o ions on it. A bit overpowering but mine was good after that was removed. Brussel sprouts were significantly salty. Wasnt able to get through them. My mom got the fries and tho were standard. She also got a bloody mary. It was alright she seemed to enjoy it. Waitress was a little sarcastic with us for no reason and the plastic and just overall service was unfortunate. It was enough to leave a bad taste in my mouth and I dont plan to return.

McBride's North is one of several locations so you can check out and compare these. Certainly seems like a place to come for a gathering. There's plenty of tables as well as TVs for watching games and whatever kinds of sports. Beers and other alcoholic beverages are why you come to an Irish pub of course. It's got a few deals going on. There's of course the Guinness on tap. Can't go wrong with it. Saturdays it's $6 a pint. As for the food, it's basic. It's $7 to get a few of the Pretzel Sticks. Could be the healthiest food here. These are topped with garlic butter and salt, and served with bistro sauce and nacho cheese, but I got mine without the butter and had mustard. Have to say it's a lot better than expected. It's got lots of specials that help save money for more to get drunk on. The food is okay while being pretty meaty, with bangers and mash types of things, but they also have pretzels.

My hubby ordered a chicken sandwich that was just as good.. All of our food was very tasty and we really enjoyed it. Portions are generous so hopefully you're very hungry or be prepared to bring plenty home. I was only able to eat half of my food and brought the other half home and my sandwich seemed better the next day which isn't always the case when you bring things home!! Dark beadboard walls, copper ceiling tiles, round orb lighting, and upstairs a cavernous space with soaring ceilings anchored by a stunning skylight. It is genuinely one of the most beautiful dining rooms in the area. Date night approved. One gripe before we get to the good stuff: if you have pages and pages of creative cocktails and an extensive wine list, your two mocktail options deserve the same love. We don't drink and the options were fine but very sour and clearly an afterthought. Do better for the sober and sober curious crowd. Now the food. The burrata was creamy, rich, and gorgeous sitting in olive oil topped with chimichurri and grilled bread. Needed more balsamic to bring the acid balance home, but honestly still one of the better burratas I've had locally. The stuffed pork with gouda, chimichurri, and saffron potato wedges was a genuinely smart plate. The saffron wedges were a surprise standout, bringing a clean earthiness that cut through the richness beautifully. A touch heavy on the gouda and the whole dish woke up considerably with a little extra salt, but the bones of it are excellent. The churrasco hanger steak told the same story. Well cooked, flavorful, chimichurri doing its job. The curly fries were the one shrug of the night. Not bad, just boring next to everything else on offer. Mike our server closed the deal by steering us toward the caramel skillet cookie and honestly, bless him for it. Warm, salty, sweet, rich, topped with cold vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. It is everything a skillet cookie should be and we scraped the pan. We are already planning the return visit and bringing friends. Barrel & Vine is an unexpected dining experience that Plainfield is lucky to have.

I appreciated they allowed a special meal for the MOB who is a vegetarian. The sugar donuts at the end of the meal were a hit! :) Alyssa, the party coordinator for the venue was super accomodating and super easy to work with. It does take a few days for response time - BUT, I always got a response. And she was always willing to give us everything we asked for! The venue even let us in earlier than requested to set up our decor. We would definitely recommend this venue for a bridal/baby shower or birthday party - any special event that is smaller in numbers. The venue has been advertising a new addition to the space next to building but it seems the construction has haulted. It is a shame because it is a bit of an eyesore - BUT, if they complete this addition, it will be beautiful. Hope they are able to complete it. The Gray's Mills has history with it's town so I hope locals will continue to support it. When we come back to visit our son and my new daughter-in-law, we will definitely be back for a visit - especially if the weather is nice!!
