History
Established in 1980.
Victoria Avenue Dental has been serving the Cranbrook area for more than 40 years. During this four decade period, many of our Cranbrook dentists and staff members have cultivated close personal and professional relationships with patients, as they watch their families grow and have children of their own.
Established by Dr. Craig Spowart, our office quickly outgrew its previous location two times more than its original capacity, before finding a permanent home on Victoria Avenue, in the same parking lot as Save on Foods. Here, Dr. Spowart operated for 13-plus years before retiring. His associate, Dr. Brett Bevans took over in 2016 and since then, has made a seamless transition.
Meet the Business Owner: Dr. Brett B.
Dr. Bevans was born and raised in a small town in the southwest corner of Alberta. He spent his early youth on a dairy and cattle farm and his teenage years helping his parents raise cattle and ostriches. If he wasn't working around the house, you could find him in the mountains around Waterton Lakes National Park, hiking and fishing. He also loved working with his hands, whether it was mechanics, woodworking, crafts or drawing.
After high school, Brett spent several years volunteering and working for a construction company, trying to save money to go to school. He attended the University of Saskatchewan where he graduated from Dental School. Since then, he has worked in Lethbridge, Okotoks and Red Deer, Alberta, but fell in love with the Kootenays several years ago. The main attractions of Cranbrook were the outdoor paradise mixed with the small-town feel. A small city allows him to practice all aspects of dentistry.
