While I've visited here a few times I haven't taken the time for a review until now. Last night we went for the traditional Sunday roast, there were three of us and we each selected something different, the chicken, lamb, and beef to try. I also chose to start with a liver and bacon salad as it's not something you see often. The salad was sublime. A perfect mixture of flavors that balanced the saltiness of the meats with a subtle sweetness and crunch from the vegetables. I don't often order liver but if you like it this salad is worth the trip. The roasts themselves were delicious and the gravy was excellent. I can't say I liked the stuffing (much different from the American versions of the same name - more of a cornbread like texture), but the meats were well done and flavorful. The vegetables were good and overall an excellent dinner topped off with some great desserts (brownie and an ice cream sundae). I'm not a drinker so can't comment on the beers, but I can call out the juices they have. They carry Frobisher's, which may or may not be common, but not anything I've had in the US. The Coopers does offer a range of ales, including Twickenham ales (which varies according to season) and Brakespears. The beers are expensive, even for the area, at over £3.00 a pint. They also have a varied wine selection. They have a restaurant at the back, serving 'fine'(ish) food - I've had Sunday lunch there (though I had fish and not a roast). The pub area is tiny, and primarily male (when I've been in), though a very different crowd from the nearby World's End. The clientèle is older, and (not shockingly) real ale loving. In the restaurant area at the rear (which is considerably brighter) you'll find families and couples. The furniture in the main pub is interesting - a lot of copper, oddly. There is one telly, which does show some football - I avoid it on footy days. I don't visit this pub that often, as the Dip (about 1/4 mile away, maybe less) is my regular, but I have enjoyed it when I've been.

England was in a World Cup consolation match against Costa Rica. Not a huge crowd but it seemed to have more energy and people than a pub right next door. It was a bit loud with the game on that it made it hard to hear what the bartender was asking me. That said, we both had fish and chips and I had an India Pale Ale that is made in-house. Everything was excellent! My favorite part was when Goose, one of the bartenders, came to our table to ask how the food was and we got into a great conversation about British ales.
