My first time at this nail salon and it's not the greatest. I wanted a simple pedicure. The guy that did my nails, ended up cutting deep into my cuticle or skin making it bleed. He didn't apply pressure or anything. I paid $45 plus tax. He didn't seem very sorry, no compensation or anything, but he did seem like he messed up. Two days later, my toe that got cut started to look infected. So I went to urgent care because I'm pregnant also. They did say it was infected. I wouldn't recommend this spot. read more

I went in for a gel manicure since my sister told me she really liked the way hers came out. I went in asking for a pink French mani ($43) and the manicurist didn't really give me what I wanted. I showed her a reference picture and she did her own thing. Then, when I told her that I wanted my nails exactly like the picture, she said that wouldn't look good on my hands and proceeded to do her own thing. I believe it's different workers in the morning and afternoon, I went in the morning. Next time I think I'll go in the afternoon. I went in and got seated and this lady sat me down and the first thing that I realized that was different was that they didn't let my feet soak in the warm water first. The water was really hot at first then it got warm. She did my acrylic on my toes and then said that I can put them in the warm which is weird because the acrylic needs to dry first and it wasn't dry. Then she didn't even rub my feet like the other workers were doing to the customers. Then for my acrylic that's on my pinky toe she didn't file it down and my other pinky toe is short and my right pinky toe is long because she wasn't paying attention on what she was doing. She didn't even put the warm towels on my legs like other places do. So I was really upset about that. When she applied the acrylic on my toe it started to burn really bad. 1st they refused to make an appointment. So I walked in with my daughter & 4 granddaughters. Literally waited nearly 2 hours for the 1st one of us to get a pedicure. The guy that attended me seemed in a rush! He cut my cuticles so bad, he pulled my skin. He just did not seem to care. Even my boyfriend was like woah, why he cutting them so rough. He applied the gel polish super thick as well and wouldn't even let them cure completely before asking me to take my hand out! My gel shipped off already from one nail! Not once but twice that I've gotten my nails done here after a few hours they swell, and get super itchy almost like an allergic reaction! After a few days they blister all around the nail cuticle and fingertips and BURN and itch so much!!! They eventually start peeling and still have that same burning itching sensation!! I think this place is related to Nova nails. I walked in and was greeted, I recognized some familiar faces. A lady asked what I needed, I told her a pedicure and she told me to sit in chair 6, now that was too familiar! Every nail tech was busy with someone, I set my timer and waited about 10 minutes and nobody had moved. They do the same thing they do at nova nails, make you sit in a chair and think you're going to get worked on, but end up waiting 45 mins. This was not happening to me here! Services are very good and very relaxing. I had my feet done here with my aunt and it was great! It is very affordable and worth it!

My mom and I have been here a few times only because we are too lazy to drive to Bakersfield to get our nails done. I am aware that there is another nail place that opened in town. However, they are closed on Sundays so this place literally is our last resort. We came right at 10am; the time they opened, or so we thought... there were already people that were getting their nails done and we were left to wait for our pedicures. They told us to sit in the pedi chairs, but they were not able to get to us until 20 min later. They first worked on me while my mom waited... The guy literally only spent 20 minutes on my toes! I am used to have a whole hour! He then worked on my mom and that also only took 20 minutes. we were there for an hour and some of that time was spent waiting. So sad... I think that it is great that Delano is trying to expand, but places where they are just too focused on doing a mediocre job just to get the job done... I really liked this place at first, but I have to downgrade my review. Which I'm sad about because the owner is so incredibly nice. I don't mind wait times. Let's face it there isn't a lot of options for nails in Delano. You are going to wait. I just made sure I had time to wait before going. However the last two times I went I was really unhappy with my nails. The first time I did a gel mani and pedi, it came off within three days. I could have gotten regular polish for a fraction of the price for the amount of time it lasted. I'm sure if I had gone back the owner would have fixed it, but I don't have that kind of time. They rush their service even when they don't have a line of customers waiting. I was even cut twice. I got French tip gel nails and the nail tech didn't file my nails evenly, nor did she shape the white tip evenly. The male nail tech doesn't clean the nail beds thoroughly and applies the nail polish unevenly. Service is sub par for the price and they're not that friendly. Also, at the register, the sign that informs the customer of a 3% fee for using a credit card was hidden under a stack of papers. Before swiping my card and before seeing the sign, I asked if there was a CC fee, and they just mumbled (I feel like they pretend not to understand English...) Came here with my boyfriend to both get a manicure, first of all the customer service was really poor, they guy who was doing my boyfriends manicure was very rude and disrespectful (his name was Tomy), my boyfriend asked him politely to fix 2 of his nails and we had to call the manager for him to fix it, he finally did it providing the worse attitude you can possibly imagine. Well. I've been waiting for over an hour. I would go somewhere else but in Delano you have to take what you get. There are about 10 people waiting and three nail techs. One is a man who has to be in training because he has done my nails before and he is extremely slow-not to mention he leaves edges that required me to come back in three days later to fix. They also bring their kids to play in the salon after school. If you can get Lennie, he is the best. But I don't recommend coming to this one or to the Nova salon in the same parking lot.
