I felt she was annoyed that I was there, that her time was being used at all, and she and her daughter were making jokes about having a "chip on a shoulder" that felt like a code to make fun of either me or someone else, which did not feel appropriate in front of a patient. The very kind office staffer who checked me out was such a gift after that experience. Again, I cried after I left. I know she has an otherwise good reputation, so that should be noted. He took X-ray and told me he noticed a bubble on my aortic blood line he suggested I go to my general doctor and have further testing he was right on the money as I has a bubble almost 3 times of what it should have been. When I first came in I was suffering from severe pain and would have spells where I couldn't even walk, I would just collapse in pain. I was pregnant and could not get X-rays however Dr. Merrill is very knowledgeable and good at his job and was able to help me manage my pain till I was able to get X-rays later on down the road. I remember being so surprised because I didn't even have to tell Dr. Merrill where my pain was, after some poking and prodding in a quick assessment of my back he was able to tell me what I was feeling and why, which is very impressive to me considering most doctors you have to SPELL IT OUT and play charades for them to even be relatively close to helping you figure out your problem.By the time you have finally gotten them to understand you mine as well just have done some research on the internet, fixed your own problem and saved yourself a trillion dollars. I have been many places in my life where it's like going to the mechanic, you go in with one problem and leave with three! At Dr. Merrill's office this is not the case, he is very well informed and truly helps you recover long term. I know someone that works at Watagua Orthopedics. She loves her job and she loves the people she works with. She put in a time off request for a personal matter that will take her out of state for 2 weeks. She only has 1 week of PTO. The company handbook states that management can approve the remaining unpaid time off requested "at their discretion". They have denied the time off. Imagine. Your work says NO, you cant take time off. It doesnt matter that the request was made 6 weeks prior to the time off. She has received disciplinary action in the form of a write up for job abandonment already even though the time off hasn't yet been taken. She has been told that at the expiration of the pto available, she will be terminated. She fought hard to keep her job but the lead people that have "the discretion " have decided they would rather play hard ball. Specifically BRENT and JOJO. It doesnt matter that in 18 months of employment she has only called out one time. It doesnt matter that she's a dedicated employee that often stays late when needed. She reported that she was being required to do things outside her scope of practice at the beginning of April of this year. Releasing test results, required to do the job description of multiple positions, etc. Since reporting this, she has been retaliated against by the administration- Specifically Brent. When a complaint for harassment amd retaliation was filed, administration told her "that is your perception" and dismissed her complaint. Isn't that the whole point of a harrassment claim- your perception? Respectfully, this is not how you treat your employees. No wonder they go thru staffing like toilet paper. Because they treat them like poop they scrape off their shoe.
