I dropped in for a morning workout and was pleasantly surprised to find parking available right away. The staff inside were friendly and greeted me as soon as I walked in. I attended a BodyPump class, which was amazing! The bathrooms are clean and modern; however, the only downside to this gym is that it's very dark inside since it is built three stories underground. I also love that the gym has a recovery area equipped with rollers and massage guns to aid in recovery. read more

Gone down the drain... I was a member since the start -- years of dues. years. Didn't write a negative review the TWO times my lock was cut and locker robbed (at a now closed location). Vida NEVER asked if there was anything they could do for me when my phone, wallet, identification, keys were all stolen at their facility. I never said a word and handled the matter with DC police and my insurance company. TWICE. Then there was the time I went in the solar sauna and put my hand on the bench and a nail went into the palm of my hand. Vida said "sorry" when I reported it to the front desk so others would not get injured. I went ahead and scheduled / paid for my tetanus shot... I didn't say a word. But recently, after being out of the country for a while, I stopped in the Logan Circle location, ready to work out... only find you needed the app to gain access... OK, except that my phone was on 5% and I didn't have much time. The clowns at the front desk said "sorry" -- and I asked them to look up my account, and to make an exception this once,,, I've NEVER missed a payment in all the years Vida has been in business,,, again, I was a founding member. He said my expiration date on my (auto pay) credit card had expired... I took a look and agreed,,, but my payments were up to date, charges still went through, no issues, and I would correct it. NO ACCESS. Would not allow me to enter the gym. WTF? Excuse me? I didn't have time to request a manager... though I did email one and explained the situation and he was ZERO help. So, I quit the gym and am very happy with my decision. Listen, I've seen jizz on the bench in the steam room and in the showers... oh, and one steam room they had the brilliant idea of shellacking the wood benches to point the off gassing felt dangerously unhealthy... once, a guy literally took a dump in the showers (15th St) -- where the water from each shower basically runs into the next. The guy next to him was screaming... obviously, this is not Vida's fault... but, it does speak to the caliber of the facility. And again, I never spoke up until unlawfully being denied access when my account has ALWAYS been in good standing and spent thousands of dollars in dues over the years. Bye-bye Vida. read more

**WARNING: My experience as a long time Vida Fitness customer** I'm writing this again because I feel it's important to share what many of my friends and I have discussed over the years about Vida Fitness, especially for those of us who frequent number nine daily. We often sit around and swap stories about our experiences at the gym, and it's shocking to see the patterns that emerge. If you read through many of the Google reviews and other platforms, you'll find that these issues are not isolated. One particularly alarming incident involved an employee who, frustrated about wanting to leave early, decided to take matters into his own hands. He incited a violent encounter where I was thrown to the ground and physically assaulted. He later was handcuffed and admitted to the police that he had Indeed threatened me and assaulted me and simply because he has connections High up he was released from jail that night. He later stalked me on Snapchat and sent me obscure messages, saying vindicated... Again, laughing this off because he knows people who have some power in DC... But just remember overtime people can be held accountable whether it's through their reputation or through the legal system... Really reputation is more critical anyways. This happened simply because he wanted to stop the normal activities that occur in a place like DC--one of the most vibrant and expressive cities in the world. It's baffling that management would choose to ignore this serious situation. We all know what goes on in this community, and it's disheartening that the management seems to be laughing off something so serious. They are fully aware of the assault and yet continue to turn a blind eye. They will be held accountable. It's essential for everyone to be aware of the culture at Vida Fitness. Great gym with very friendly and informative staff. Has anything and everything you could need for your workout and more. Excellent facilities that were very clean and in great condition. The equipment was of fairly high quality, well organized, comfortable to use, and plentiful. The interior setup and space is quite inviting and looks great. At first it may seem that some of it is a bit close together but as you work out there is ample space. Only thing which wasn't necessarily a negative, just an observation that I got used to halfway in was the lighting, as others have also said it is a bit dimmer than I expected but it doesn't impede on anything. The management at this gym has gone downhill in last 6 months. A case in point the fact that of the four fountains in the gym two aren't working at all today. One has been broken for 6 weeks with a sign saying it will be fixed a month ago. And the other two only give warm water, for about 4 months now Never mind the unfinished "renovations" and the plonked-in-place ice bath. The gym is a convenient location, and has some nice equipment. But I was quite disappointed to be visiting and have to pay $40 for a day pass, only to find that the showers had freezing cold water. I went to a nearby "upper scale" gym that would allow me to go straight to events after. That didn't happen due to a non-functioning locker-room. I did raise the issue with the front desk, I did not ask for a refund, but I did ask for a discounted price for the following day. They were not willing to make any kind of adjustment. That's really poor service in my opinion. I would not recommend this for people doing day passes, as you will never know which services are actually functioning. read more

This gym is great - if you're looking for a new one, don't even hesitate. I spent all last week in DC with work ahead of an upcoming move and was looking for a good gym to use when I move here. A friend recommended Vida and I'm so glad he did. The place is really nice - it's in a basement so made me think a bit of a nightclub, but in a classy way. There's loads of equipment, it's in great condition and it's really clean. They're always cleaning the locker rooms and the guests seem very respectful and tidy. They've got a great range of weights equipment and cardio and the pools and steam room are awesome. I will definitively be joining when I move. I had a very pleasant experience here! To be disclaimed: I am in town visiting my parents; thus, purchased a day pass. That said, the facility is SPOTLESS. All the equipment you need. They also have lovely locker room amenities. The pool was an interesting experience (I'm a lap swimmer, thus had never used such a pool). That said, it (awkwardly) did the job. The front desk staff was a bit "bitchy"; but maybe that's par for the neighborhood. All in all, worth the price. read more

I'd give it zero stars if I could. I feel terrible for businesses that are suffering from the economic effects of the pandemic (I even paid a reduced rate for a couple of months while they were closed to help), but the management here has handled this entire situation extremely poorly. They allowed members to freeze their accounts, which is appreciated, but everything else has been terrible. First it was emails asking members to lobby the city government to change public health rules to allow them to reopen more quickly this summer. Then it was phone calls asking me when I'd come back. Despite all of this communication from them, they never alerted me to the fact that the annual gym enhancement fee would be charged. They love bugging you about everything EXCEPT alerting you to upcoming charges. When I asked the gym, they flatly denied a refund to that charge AND want the normal cancellation fee to end my relationship with them. That I've spent thousands of dollars for over three years apparently doesn't entitle you to even a modicum of decency. Avoid this gym. Decent facilities ruined by a team of people who do not have even the slightest interest in good customer service. read more

i feel kinda bad posting this as i hate to write a negative review but i'm super frustrated/disappointed. on/following black friday, i received several emails from a membership advisor at Vida logan circle, explaining information about an ongoing promotion, that sounded great to me. i responded to the email (as their email instructed) expressing my interest and didn't hear back. so i followed up to reiterate i was interested and ready to sign up, and still didn't hear back. i was surprised but figured we could resolve things over the phone, so i called and was told the membership advisor was unavailable and that they'd leave my number with him so that he could call me back. he didn't, so i tried again the next day- same thing. they took my number and i did not hear back. the following day, i was finally able to connect over the phone with another membership advisor who explained to me that the deal is no longer valid, to which i responded that i'd been trying to sign up via the deal for about a week or so at that point but didn't hear back. he told me that they missed my emails and were sorry, but that he'd check in with management to see if they could still honor the deal and would let me know by the end of the day. i did not hear back, unsurprisingly, so i stopped by in person the next day to follow up. i was told that they're sorry to have missed my emails and messages and that they'd missed a few other folks' emails about the promotion too, which is just really not great customer service. finally, he explained that i could sign up with their regular prices, but that they'd give me a few extra guest passes to make up for it (which is not even close to comparable to the black friday promo, nor do i have any need for guest passes). i'm disappointed that they were so unresponsive and that they ultimately weren't able to work things out with me because they missed my emails. i hope others have a better experience but i wanted to share mine as i am quite annoyed. read more

It's the gloomiest VIDA. Still a VIDA so there's a baseline of high quality, but nothing can hide the fact that it's underground and has but a frosted skylight for natural light. I did see a dog walking across it while doing presses, so that was cute. The maybe good news is that years ago Anderson Cooper was spotted working out here often (not be me, too gloomy). Perhaps the private aura of a subterranean gym makes local gay celebs more comfortable here. So there's a chance you might see some of the new crop of gay congressmen or even Biden's new Transportation Secretary here in the coming years. read more

We visit DC every year for our daughter's vball tournament and decided to go work out at this location. Gym is a bit smaller than what I'm used to but they utilize the space very well and kept very clean. Have a lot of equipment for weight lifting as well as cardio. A bit expensive for one time visit at $35 but gym was nice and friendly staff! read more

Long time member, between my wife and I, have spent well over $10K in dues. I'm the member they should not want to lose- Autopay dues, I report broken equipment or problems, dutifully answer surveys, & occasionally purchase smoothies and gear. Long time complaint about the lack of air movement in the cardio area. 60+ machines and not one fan. In 20 minutes, the sweat is pouring off and I have to ratchet back just so I don't overheat. Last year was told that fans were being planned to help circulate the air, but after only lip service, it is time to cancel. I cannot get a decent cardio workout. Interestingly, the cycle studio has less than half the equipment and at least four fans. Crazy. Was taking a morning class in one of the subterranean fitness studios and the temperature was 80 degrees according to the thermostat. Again no air movement. The place is dark, basement-esque, the new high tech machines often have broken signs, not sure that they routinely check machines for maintenance or function (hence my reporting of broken equipment). The lack of responsiveness, the high price, and the attitude just don't warrant staying. Have sent e-mails and inquired on several occasions but I don't get the courtesy of a reply. Nail in the coffin was the $25 cancellation fee. Don't care so much about the money but the lack of response is infuriating and then to charge a cancellation fee despite the long time autopay membership. Had that been waived, would consider coming back if the problem were addressed or I was unable to find a better gym. Their loss and now I won't come back. I'm happy to pay top dollar for quality- this place isn't it. read more

This is a great gym with friendly staff and clean facilities. I usually never have to wait for machines (unless I go right around 5PM). The workout classes are also great quality and there's a wide variety of options. The $130 a month fee is reasonable in my opinion. The 2 month student price of $250 somehow jumped to $299 from my trial visit to my visit to sign up with their sales team (Lindsay and Larry) a few days later. It was the most awful customer experience I've ever had. I definitely felt lied to, and getting dragged in to have the price raised on me was a complete waste of time and energy. Compared to the other VIDA gym, this one is the least I liked. It is located in a basement, not very light and very small. The location was convenient when it was walking distance but there is no parking they provide and in a very popular neighborhood so parking is hard. I don't think they handled the pandemic well and created changed in membership fees without good communication. I would certain hook with caution, not just here- any VIDA. read more

Time for another update of Vida Metropole, and I can definitely say the last couple years have seen great improvements in the physical facility. Generally, I love the gym: great classes with good instructors, new cycle studio, great weight floor, good selection of cardio, nice lockers and revised showers, plus steam/sauna as a bonus. I really feel like they've stepped up their game in a big way (good thing, considering the competition from Crossfit and other places). Previously, I mentioned the antiquated video systems on the treadmills and stair masters, etc, but that problem has been solved by faster cellular data networks: now I watch video on my phone or iPad while running, and just use T-Mobile's unlimited network (tried using Vida's wifi but it's usually very limited). I never use the interface provided on the machine. read more

Awful experience--can't even get a response from anyone at VIDA to answer my questions so shouting this into the void here. In echoing a similar review for another VIDA location, the facility is closed indefinitely. Originally, there was a communication that there would be dues credited during the shutdown, but now VIDA is asking members to pay their full monthly fee while they push out virtual workout classes (which are available to the public by the way). The response I received regarding freezing my membership reads as follows: "VIDA has decided to process all account credits for membership dues in the form of an optional membership freeze." VIDA is positioning this "credit" as the ability to freeze your membership, a provision which carries a $25 fee. FYI, a freeze isn't a freeze if you still have to pay. Other area gyms (Orange Theory, Core Power) are completely freezing memberships with no payment required. Obviously VIDA doesn't treat their members with the same level of respect. I'm sorry VIDA, with no access to a facility and the number of easily accessible online workouts, this is ridiculous. During a time when so many others are experiencing a loss in income, continuing to charge full dues and freeze fees is completely unacceptable and the wrong way to handle this. read more

I am not actually a member of Vida... yet. They had this amazing opening night party last week with tons of food and free cocktails and great music. We had such a fun time drinking and running on the treadmills and lifting weights. It did seem mildly dangerous, but what the hell. I am seriously considering joining; the gym is beautiful. Tehy have 2 infinity pools (the short ones with the wave machine thing) and a sauna, steam room and gorgeous locker rooms, TVs on all of the cardo machines. It is beautiful. Although I think most everything is coated in vodka now. I think it costs about $80 a month plus a sign up fee. read more

Great gym in the Logan Circle area! Facilities are clean, the gym doesn't smell like sweat and the area never looks like a mess. Staff have been nice and friendly for the most part, although I did come across one who I could tell just did not want to work with me in setting up my new account, but for the most part, a lot of smiles and welcomes. Each of the cardio machines have a personal TV device attached which is nice since you can watch your own shows. Gym equipment quality varies. I do not like the shoulder press because you cannot adjust the seat, which makes it difficult for users of different height. Free weights increases in increments of 2.5 which is nice since you have more variability. Cushions are kept clean and tethered free. Lots of lockers available to use and the gym provides towels, hand towels and bath towels to use. There is also a water dispenser for water bottles are each water fountain which i found very convenient. Overall, I am glad I chose to be a member of VIDA. So far no complaints, oh and there's free WiFi! read more

The sauna has been broken for 2 1/2 weeks. Seems like a big bureaucracy for something that should have been repaired or replaced more efficiently. With so many clubs, an extra sauna unit should be kept in storage for immediate replacement of broken units. The broken units can then be sent out for repair without so much downtime. The clubs also have extremely poor WIFI.... if coffee shops can have decent WIFI, why can't VIDA? read more

I love this gym. I mean it has great facilities and it's in my neighborhood so how could I complain. Oh, I know. I'm an Iraq war Vet and drive a little rode share on the side and recently got banned because my Vida spin trainer I picked up complained that I was sexist. Wow, her Jan 2nd. 0600 spin class, which I got her too for a whopping $4 gross was not enough.. I had to navigate her entitlement and fluff her for the start of her day. Those kind of people can get work with the Trump administration but if we are talking gym let's leave it there. In the mean time, I'll be seeing her in court. I'm not done. read more

I've been a member of Vida Logan Circle for five years and they shouldn't advertise that they have a steam room. It's constantly broken! The most recent bout has lasted for three weeks. Each week they have a sign advertising that the steam room will be fixed that week, and they keep pushing that date back. Get it together, VIDA! read more

The short of it - not as good as Chinatown Vida. Give it some time to work out the kinks. The long of it - Yes, this place is beautiful, for a nightclub. Or perhaps it'll remind you of an extremely well-furnished cave with a hint of light peaking in from the world above. As others have said, what you've heard, and what others will undoubtedly say is that it's very dark in here. The staff member I spoke to said this is because all the lights aren't installed yet. Me thinks these uninstalled lights were ordered two days ago to appease all the members who must have complained about working out in a place with all the visibility of a coat closet. So I'll give them credit for listening to their people. What I don't buy was all the other stuff that the guy said was "on order". How about some round plates for deadlifting? I'm going to screw up my back trying to use these horrid octagonal plates. The Chinatown Vida's got a glute-ham and reverse hyper. Nothing like that here. Although I was assured they were on order too. I was then given some half-hearted explanation of how things can take up to a year to ship. Wha? I could throw a squat rack on my back and walk across the U.S. of A in less time! (note to self: new workout for clients.) The free weight section has too few benches and tends to get crowded quick. I'd rather they chuck out some of the gimmicky weight machines and make more room. They've got some weird contraptions now that actually float your seat up and down as you do a chest press or row, etc. Waste. Of. Space. Anyways, this place isn't bad, it's just not as good as their Chinatown location. Things might certainly work themselves out in the coming weeks and months though. I'd check it out, but give it some time before you're sure you want to commit. read more

I think I would pay $100 a month just to shower here a few times a week. The classes are great and there are so many every day that no matter what your schedule is like, you can definitely find a class you are able to attend. I am honestly blown away by the number of classes and the variety therein which are offered on any given day. It makes it so convenient for someone like me (that desperately needs someone coaching them along) to squeeze a workout in. The facility here is very compact and mostly underground, but they have everything I would ever look for in a gym (and then some). The locker rooms are super contemporary and provide everything you need to get ready except a brush and a razor. And let me tell you about those waterfall showers, oh my goodness. I could get used to that level of luxury, its amazing. I have now also been to the U Street and Verizon locations and this particular spot easily has the best locker room set up. Also - as a pro tip, any single dudes looking for all the beautiful men of Dupont/Logan Circle, go no further. There is serious man candy all over this place. On the flip side, all the uncoordinated ladies like me can come in, workout like a hot mess and go unnoticed. Its a magical thing. read more

Vida Fitness spoiled me. I now live in the Manhattan of California, and finding an affordable, snazzy gym with all its amenities is no longer an option as it was with Vida. The classes were ALWAYS great. My favorites: +Vida Body with Ed: the man's a machine! He looks like the black Hulk, but has a heart of gold. I also trained with him a few times. He tailors the workout to your strengths and weaknesses, and encourages you to use the machines as well as random items around the gym (we called it a "ghetto workout"). +Any class with Juliet: this lady puts me to shame with her killer abs and she's got arms like Madonna--only it's less frightening on Juliet. She's incredibly encouraging, helpful, and motivating. +Black-out spin class: all the lights are turned off and you're given glow sticks. It's a raver's dream of a workout (if ravers were to workout, that is). Other pluses: +Lemon body scrub in the shower. Don't bother with the shampoo, conditioner, or body wash (they're kinda terrible), but the scrub's great. +The tanning booths. Sure, they're not state-of-the-art, but this ain't a tanning salon, it's a gym, and it's got a tanning booth that costs $10 a pop. (This alone makes me a fan.) +Steam room and a sauna. They're co-ed, but so what? It's not like the guys in there care about the girls anyway. Sit back and relax. +Real Ryder spin bikes. They tilt and lean side-to-side to give you a more realistic biking feel. If Vida opened shop out here, I'd be first in line; especially if they flew out Ed and Juliet. read more

This place is a disaster... and it keeps getting worse as the weeks go by. They advertise services & equipment that are either unavailable or always broken. The place is clean, sure... unless of course you plan to use their pools (BYOC must mean Bring Your Own Chlorine). Their front staff is about as helpful as a kick to the head. These guys could really use a little healthy competition in the immediate area instead of taking for granted that all the locals will put up with their bullsh^t. I never thought I'd say this... but the Y is actually better. Gross, I know. But true. Plus, I'll shave about $60 off my monthly membership by going elsewhere. Luckily I cancelled my membership today, and feel it may have been one of the best decisions I've ever made. If you're going for the eye candy & scented shower products, it's great. Pros: Locker room facilities are great, free towel service, yoga classes are great, very clean gym, mini resistance/lap pools available for use, cool fingerprint scanners so you don't have to remember to carry a card with you Cons: Location is kind of terrible, especially since they don't have parking; price is exorbitant, even by DC standards, class offerings outside of yoga are only so-so, you get a lot of those pretentious gym buffs here who don't like to make conversation and always care about how they look when they work out (not saying that's all the people here, by any means, but definitely a lot of them, in my experience), kind of a weird setup that can be confusing to get used to Bottom line: you can make it look and smell pretty, but a gym is still a gym and, for me, that'll never be worth over $100 per month, especially if I still have to pay extra for personal training, spa services and parking every time I come. read more

Vida promotes itself as a luxury gym along the same lines as Sports Club LA or the Fitness Center in the Fairmount, but IMO, Vida is closer to Gold's Gym than it is to either of those two. Here's the biggest drawbacks of Vida, and why it shouldn't sell itself as a 'luxury' gym: 1. You have to bring your own lock for the locker. Every other decent gym I've been to has locks built into the lockers, and you get the key when you check in. 2. The shower curtains are those cheap plastic things you can buy at Wal-Mart for like $5. Luxury gyms have actual shower doors that close. The curtains also don't reach all the way to the floor, and this results in water splashing on the floor outside the shower, which is kinda gross having to walk through other peoples shower water. 3. The shower dividers (the 'wall' between each shower) don't reach all the way down to the floor. Again, if someone is showering in the shower next to you, it is inevitable their water will splash on your side. Also, the end shower is RIGHT next to the urinals and toilets. I don't think I have to describe why that is a problem. 4. The locker room is just too small for the number of members they have, and it doesn't include several amenities that other luxury gyms have such as shaving cream, aftershave, shoe shine, razor blades, fruit, headphones, workout clothes, ice. 5. The steam room is weak, there is not nearly enough steam, and there doesn't seem to be anyway to manually turn it on. 6. Not enough cardio equipment. It is always above 100% capacity on T-Thurs, 6-7pm. They just added 3 more machines, but they probably need about 10 more and I don't see where they are going to have the space. 7. I don't think their towels have ever seen an ounce of fabric softener. 8. Not enough clocks. On many machines there is no way to see a clock if you are trying to time your reps/sets. 9. Not enough water fountains. Say you are in the steam room, you would have to walk up the stairs, through the locker room out to the weights, and walk all the way to the back of the weight room to get a drink. Also, I don't think the water is purified (at least they don't say it is) which means you are drinking DC tap water unless you bring/buy your own. Now the good things about Vida, Logan: - While they don't have enough cardio machines, they have lot's of different types, include at least 4 different types of ellipses. -Lot's of weight machines. Probably 10 different ways to work out every muscle. So in the end, Vida is a nice gym and you can get a good/great workout. I just think they are over-selling themselves by claiming to be 'luxury' and the membership is over priced compared to what you get. It is really just a slightly nicer version of Gold's Gym. So if you don't care about any of the amenities, you should save the money and just go to Gold's. If you want a true luxury gym, I recommend the Health Club at the Fairmount (24th and M) who's membership fee is actually a little less than Vida and has all of the amenities I mention throughout this post. If you want something in Logan, then Vida is really your only choice, and you can definitely get a good workout there, and that is the main purpose of going, it is just frustrating on how many little things they lack on. read more

Ah, the Vida PR people responded to my previous post. I won't bother to address their creative inventory methods. The bottom line is that anyone with decent weight training knowledge finds Vida Metropole to be a train wreck. The amount, variety and quality of equipment are second rate. The Verizon location is slightly better, but it's equipment still comes way short of many other gyms in DC. In addition to conspicuously missing equipment, the machines at both locations are the same poor quality. They are flimsy and oddly proportioned. The type I normally experience only in hotel gyms when I'm traveling. Vida's track record on equipment is not good. And they are about to replace the best gym in town, Results, with another Vida. If their promise is to meet the quality of equipment at Results, I'll gladly join. This would require a very different approach than they've taken in the past. read more

Wow this place is quickly becoming my second home. The amenities for a gym in this location are phenomenal. I will say that right off the starting block. I am an ex-athlete and have a love for working out. I was on a CorePower addiction when I lived in San Diego, literally going everyday. When I moved out to DC I switched to ClassPass but was not satisfied with either option. Insert my new love - VIDA Fitness. This location for me is perfect, 2 blocks from my house. There are always a number of friendly and helpful staff around. You walk in and then go down to enter the gym - yes there is a lack of natural ligjt, but that is not something that bothers me. I tend to gravitate towards to Eliptical machines. Surprisingly, no matter what hour I go there is always a machine. Whether that is 5 pm or 6 am, there are certainly a ton of people in this place but they have an ample supply of machines to make me happy. The group classes are also great - this si something that I have found pushes me a little bit more than an individual work out. I frequent the yoga, barre, and cycling classes. My only complaint is that they do not have an App with the classes posted - to someone with an ever changing schedule I would love to pull out my iphone and check what classes I could make throughout the week. Wifi on every level. I don't use the weight machines but the bottom floor seems to be popular. a dry and wet sauna, and 2 infinity pools that are usually available. The bathroom is also full service - I honestly think I shower here more than I do at my own home. Shampoo, conditioner, Q-tips, hair dryers, straighteners, etc. Salon upstairs - I actually got my hair cut here before I was a member! Love this gym and it is reasonably priced for someone that shovels out over $100 a month for group classes. I was a Vida member for about two years and recently canceled my membership because my new apartment has a gym. This location is mediocre at best. I've worked out in the early mornings and a few times in the evenings. One of the biggest problems is that this gym is small and cramped. I always felt I needed a shoehorn to get around some of the equipment. If you come in the mornings, you might be able to use some equipment without having to wait, but it's a hit or miss situation. If you come after work, be prepared to wait, even for cardio. Also, unlike the U Street location, I've never felt the people at the front desk were nice. A lot of the time they ignored me when I arrived/left and on a rare occasion one of the staffers would offer a half-hearted "Hello" or "Goodbye." The folks at the U Street location are 1000 times friendlier and more welcoming. I always got emails from the lady who manages this location asking for my feedback and to fill out surveys. It became repetitive and it was obvious management wasn't reading my comments because all of the replies contained basically the same canned response. "Oh, we're working on it!" or "I'll talk to the staff about their behavior!" Just go to U Street instead. read more

Let me start by saying - I used to ADORE Vida. My previous job-schedule was 7:00am - 3:30pm, so I'd get into the gym right before the evening rush came in. It was PERFECT. I loved the employees, the members, the vibe, the look/feel..... EVERYTHING! I would rate it 5 stars. I now work 8:00 - 4:30. This puts me in the gym around 5:30pm. I basically can't work out here anymore because it's so packed. I'm talking SARDINES. It's like night and day with my previous experience - I used to go to Vida as an after-work retreat. It was MY TIME. Now I feel like it's me vs. the other guy who has been eye-ing the same treadmill for the last 10 minutes.... I don't know what I'm going to do!!!!! I LOVED vida when I was going around 4:00..... I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to stay. But, is it worth paying the money if I'm spending half my time waiting around? I still love this gym on the weekends during off hours. read more
