I acknowledged this comment, but asked if I could do it now since I had arrived to the appointment early. She restated her previous statement, gave me an additional form to fill out, and was done with me. I don't think she smiled during our entire engagement. About 15 minutes later, Dr. Hernandez's nurse brought me back to the room. I informed her of what the front desk person said. She replied, "No problem. I'll go print out the forms and then you can fill them out after your appointment." She was very sweet, and did what the front desk person should have done originally. Then, after my appointment I stayed another 5 minutes to fill out the paperwork. After that, I handed in the paperwork and checked out. Although the checkout person was a little nicer and did actually smile, she was far from being considered bubbly. It is such a shame because the care I received was excellent, and both Dr. Hernandez and her nurse were engaging, welcoming, personable and competent. The practice really needs someone to step up and teach the front desk staff how to treat their patients.
