OK, it's not as bad as some of these other reviews make it out to be. I mean it's not great, but it's not "atrocious" (as another review describes it) either. It's airport food in the western hemisphere, so I had low expectations to begin with.
The coffee is actually pretty good. I had flown in on a 9+ hour flight, and had a long and boring layover; the coffee really helped. The orange bread and the guava cheesecake go quite well with the coffee.
The only disappointing item was the pao de queijo. It was reheated in the microwave, and turned hard and dry pretty quickly. To get my pao de queijo fix after the disappointment at Viena, I walked over to the Casa do Pao de Queijo (a few steps away and closer to my departure gate), and was served a much tastier version there.
The service is friendly and helpful. I don't speak any Portuguese, and they don't speak any English, but they were able to help me and were extremely nice about it all too. read more
