One of those places where when you walk in, you can smell that it's going to be good. Service was quick, and it turned out to be some of the best pho I have had. Particularly if you like a more savory broth, I highly recommend. I got the large bowl--not extra large--and I could hardly finish it. Great portion size and proportions of meat to noodles.

    Roach in Pho
    Rozelyn P.

There was a roach in my pho. This roach appeared to have been simmering all day from its condition. I was so disappointed and disgusted, knowing broth is usually simmered in a large pot. I'm not a fan of poor reviews, but I write them when necessary. After spotting the roach, I called the restaurant but didn't get an answer. Bugs and rats can quickly become problems in restaurants. It happens; that's why most restaurants keep an exterminator's number on speed dial. Roaches come in numbers, so I hope they address the problem in the kitchen. Bo tai chanh - $15 for mostly onions? BS
    Chelsey D.

My mom decided to order takeout for dinner tonight, so we got the bo tai chanh, bo luc lac, and banh cot. The bo luc lac was dry unlike your traditional dish, where there was basically no marinade cooked with the beef. The banh cot was decent. The worst thing was probably the bo tai chanh because it was 75-80% ONIONS, with barely any meat at all. This was super annoying especially because it was $15. The flavor was great, but I would never pay $15 for a box of onions. The bo luc lac and banh cot both came with veggies and all dishes came with nuoc mam (fish sauce). I've definitely had better Vietnamese food elsewhere, so I wouldn't order food from here again if I had a choice.

huge plate of delicious well-marinated grilled pork chops with shredded pork skin/belly, meat patty, and shrimp cake over a bed of rice for $13! Wasn't that busy for a Saturday and everything tasted like a home cooked meal with delicious fish sauce. Stuffed for the next few hours/days. The che ba mau (dessert) was top notch!!

    Egg rolls and veggies

The place looked promising with large dining area and relatively clean decor. This place also had wide range of menu items like I was used to. We ordered our standard, egg rolls and pho tai nam, but today I felt like pho tai nam gan, so I ordered it. 3 rolls came out relatively hot and it was good with vegetables and clear noodles inside. All was good at this point even with somewhat dried out pho vegetables and such. What got me the most about Viet Garden is that ratio of noodles to soup and meat were all off. The pho came with some meat on top, but the amount of noodles just took over the soup and everything else. I almost never leave pho unfinished, but this time is an exception. The soup base was good but seemed to have balanced taste of seasoning and broth. Not the richest soup base but didn't taste like all fish sauce either. Overall, the food was okay but the service wasn't the fastest and the server also had long finger nails that didn't seem clean. He did not dip his fingers in the bowl, but we did find his hair in both of our pho. Not very pleasing. Also the general area seems run down and was just little farther than others.

Have you ever went grocery shopping or ordered food while hungry? Well that's what I did when I ordered, but it was so worth it! My eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach!!! The pictures of the take out doesn't do justice for the taste of the food! The spring rolls were very good-very large and tasted fresh! The Bun was very yummy and very filling! The spicy Pho with beef tendon was spicy good and lots of additives that were fresh and very filling! The crispy chicken wings were good but it would've been better id I ate it fresh and hot. The stir fried chicken and shrimp vegetables was quickly devoured but it was a lot of food with a side of rice. The shrimp fried rice was a lot but that was goggled you too! It was so filling but all dishes were fresh so it was worth the big Nelly!!!! You never know until you try it, but believe me it's well worth it! So so good!!!

    Stir fried tofu !!

Viet garden is one of my go to places for pho that I highly recommend ! Concistentcy along with great service is something I always fine here . Pho dac biet Xtra large along with stir fried tofu is my go to from this location ! The stir fried tofu is super simple, seasoned with salt and pepper along with bell peppers and onions with a sweet Thai chili sauce on side compliment this dish. The pho is awesome with a very flavorful broth and plentiful of meat and noodles especially with the extra large size! Not many places offer an extra large size so this is a win in my book ! Overall I recommend

Pretty good Viet restaurant that offers varieties of comfort Viet food. I love the portion size here for noodle soups, they have xlarge for the biggest bowl and when I'm really craving noodles I will get that. The menu variety is quite big and the services is always good here. Their food is always good I never had anything I don't like here before. Sometimes I like to get fried tofu that is not in the menu; they have written menu on the board sometimes and unless you ask for it you cannot find it. It is never too busy in the store and the music is not too loud when eating which I love. I wouldn't say they have the tastiest pho and Viet foods but it will satisfy my pho craving and for Baton Rouge which only has few Viet restaurants I would say it is one of my togo place.

Pho tai bo vien (Noodle soup with eye round steak and meatballs)

If you want a nice big portion for the price you pay, this place is the place to go for pho. I always get the PHO TAI BO VIEN (Noodle soup with eye round rare steak and meatballs). When I want more noodles (since my daughter eats most of my noddles) I just order extra noodles on the side which they give you a lot of noodles. I love how the bowl of pho comes out nice and hot. All the staff is very nice and attentive. This restaurant is great for big groups as well since they have a big space with long tables. *Baby friendly with high chair!

    Vietnamese egg rolls, good stuff!

This place is great and the customer service is what made me feel as if I was with good friends. Our waiter, who I think is the owners son, or he might be the owner I forget, he was so fun to talk to on a random night. He suggested a great Vietnamese beer and we shared fun stories of Indian food while I shared stories of our trip to thailand and I felt like I was in East Asia again. The food is pretty great. They simmer pho all day long in the broth so it doesnt really need all the sauces you would usually add. Well, add red sauce for spice! Viet egg rolls were awesome as well

One of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Baton Rouge! It is a very nice facility, and the food and service are all wonderful. Of course they have great pho and spring rolls, but the extensive menu is absolutely worth exploring. There are many nice salads, noodle dishes, and stir-fry dishes. The timid will enjoy their Vietnamese fried rice. It is a local gem, and family run. Make sure to try their iced tea! They make it with Jasmine Tea and serve it with a lime slice. Very light and refreshing.

As good as it gets. I came here a couple of days ago because I had a craving for great Vietnamese food and had tried a couple of other so-so places, but never here. I am so glad I came here! The decor is comfortable. Nothing over the top or crazy, just a little asian theming going on, but really, just a nice laid back restaurant. I ordered the chicken wing appetizer, a gui cuon appetizer, and a #34 (egg noodle, pork chicharonne, shrimp, squid, quail eggs, etc). The chicken wings were AMAZING! They are fried, but unbreaded and come with this delicious sweet fish sauce. They came out piping hot and when you put the fish sauce on it, they just go up another notch! The gui cuon was nice, nothing special, but just as tasty as I've had at any other place. But the star of this show was the #34 bowl o' noodles! It had everything in it that you could imagine and something I wasn't expecting...the chicharonne! The taste of the chicharonne in the broth was the perfect pairing! I don't know why I've never seen this at any other Vietnamese restaurant, but it's absolutely delicious here. I'll definitely be back!

Uh oh--looks good but forgot which pho this is

Good food, pleasant service, and a clean atmosphere. I had Pho Tai Nam and was pleased with the taste of home. Thank you, Viet Garden.

Average food at an average price... although the $3.50 Diet Coke was a bit much. Think I'll try other places for Pho.

Probably the most authentic Vietnamese food I've had, although I almost always get number 76 on the menu and I'm never disappointed.
