These boys are very professional. No fuss, they managed to fit double glazed windows in my flat within an day of work, so I was only mildly inconvenienced by their presence, just went to the pub and when I got back pretty much everything was finished. This is an awful company which l actively caution people to avoid. They take no pride in their work, which is reflected in the poor attention to detail and finish, sloppy work ethic and egregious service. They have no respect for their customers and don't deserve your service. We have taken weeks off work to have Viewforth come round and make the same mistakes over and over again, we've had windows repainted three times after Viewforth have been called back to fix (and repeat) mistakes. We've had to explicitly ask for them to stop sending the same junior installers round to repeat mistakes, installers who sit in their vans all day playing on their phones and then taking a day to fix a one hour problem, at the customer's expense - this is how they respond to a complaint. Where a reputable joiner would use a chisel and a workbench these guys will hack at your frames using a Stanley knife, and then fit the parts squint. We've had ropes detach, having been poorly fitted, brass parts fitted squint (and then moved and fitted squint again!), or brass parts left scratched and buckled. It took almost a year for them to fix one problem (mastic), blaming everything from birds to bees for the simple fact that they didn't do the job properly in the first place. This review is based on my experience over a year, so this wasn't simply a single bad experience that I'm having a moan about but rather a sustained marathon of incompetence and apathy. We had double glazing already, and simply wanted to replace 3 door-to-ceiling windows in one room with more sound-proof ones. Someone came to take the measures after a week, we discussed the different options (i.e. glass thickness and type, space between glasses etc), and we manage to identify the specific one we wanted. When we were sent the quote we were given no information about any of the above though. We e-mailed the company, outlining the specifics we had discussed, and asking if the quote was indeed about the type of windows we had discussed. The one-line reply was that that one of the glasses may be heavy for the mechanism. We e-mailed them again to ask what exactly was the quote for, as they did not specify the glass thickness (or the sound reduction rating we had discussed). There was NO reply at all. We e-mailed them two more times, they never replied or acknowledged our e-mails. Our last e-mail was about two months ago/ I guess they were just expecting us to pay them a few thousand pounds without even telling us what they would be replacing our (already double) windows with... How such a company is still in business is beyond me... read more

Two men came to replace several broken panes in my greenhouse, including a tricky one at top gable end. They did a fantastic job, quick, clean, professional and very personable - good price too. I was v impressed and will use them again. read more

The contractor was provided with a clear written scope of work for minor repairs to a number of windows, quoted an hourly rate, based on 2 operatives attending. Quote was based on full hour or part of, i.e. pay for 2, 4 or 6hrs, but promised to take cognisance of this. Undertook some, not all of the scheduled work, proposed and undertook some additional work. Left after 2 hrs 5mins. The additional works carried out resulted in a substantial increase in draughtiness of the windows through ill fitting parts, the requested scope of works was not completed, and my child's bedroom was left in an unsafe condition, the upper sash supported by only one sash cord. I was billed for 6 man hours of time, having 'benefitted' from 4hrs 10mins (this I don't dispute, I foolishly trusted them not to exploit this), but to add insult to injury, they made repeated attempts to double charge me for the additional works, which were completed within the already invoiced and paid for hourly rate works. Attempts to resolve have been met with rudeness, aggression and a series of ever increasing, fabricated invoices. In summary, unsafe, incomplete, rude and followed up with incompetent or worse invoicing. Avoid at all costs. read more

Do NOT use this company they are both incompetent and the 'manager' I spoke to extremely aggressive and rude. I have tried to give them a second chance but here are 3 incidents 1. Our neighbours were getting new windows in their first floor flat. The workmen allowed glass and wood to cascade down on to our patio where my disabled son and his carer were sitting. They went inside to keep safe. Whilst some mess may be necessary this was excessive and caused by the workers not taking care. This was made worse by the fact that they did not clear up. I had to call the company to come back and do so 2. Despite this as they were local I ordered a new pane for my door. Wrongly measured - had to wait an extra week without a door panel 3. They came back to do my neighbour's front windows and cascaded some sort of putty like material on to my son's disabled ramp. I called for them to clear up as the material would stick to the wheelchair and be carried in to the house and they assured they would come the next day. When they didn't I called again and got the rudest man I have ever encountered in a business. He said he 'found it difficult to believe' that there were big lumps (I have photographic proof of hand sized lumps) He screamed at me, told me he had had a 'bad day' and claimed he had picked up the glass on the previous occasion 'for me' (My neighbours had paid for the job AND the tidy up. ) His retort that he wasn't being rude because he went to public school did not reassure me and I am sure any school , public or state, would be ashamed to have such a past pupil! read more
