This winery has so much potential as it is such a gorgeous property, but the way the service is here makes it weird. First of all you buy drink tickets to get any kind of drinks - there is no clarity on where you're supposed to go to get your wine flight (inside apparently) and the wine flight and wine by the glass is served in plastic cups. The amount of wine you get for the flight is equivalent to a shot. They had live music but it was super loud but nice if you weren't seated under the outdoor cover. Don't know where to start.... The owner of this winery has no idea what he's doing to this place. CLUELESS to say the least. We show up great big building great view. Cordial staff. You need to scan a barcode to be seated, served and get orders. You get a pager to pick up your own food. Wait staff don't serve you anything in person. Outdoor patio patrons walk 100 ft to get their own food BEEP BEEP pager. LOL....been to over a dozen wineries within the last year in this region. I'm from Windsor. 1st winery to serve wine in plastic cups for the FLIGHTS AND GLASSES....JUST BRUTAL....We cancelled the remainder of our order after our CHARCUTERIE BOARD which we picked up from the front door after buzzard went off. It was served in a PLASTIC CONTAINER meant for STRAWBERRIES you'd buy at a grocery store. How pitiful. No Napkins utensils. Potential dipping sauces etc... no plates. Oh, and no SERVER assistance. Do everything for yourself. This is suppose to be a winery. Not a buffet. No LOCAL BEVERAGES to choose from like IP KINGSVILLE BREWERY BEERS like other wineries supporting local businesses. Home brand was horrible. Wineries like restaurants are there to SERVE PEOPLE....C'mon, Cooks/kitchen staff need to be retrained by Gordon Ramsey, what a kitchen nightmare .....LOL.... I was afraid for our group being served our food in another strawberry container. BAHAHAHAHA it's unfortunate the girls that work here have no say in RE ESTABLISHING this into a legitimate Winery. No common sense used here. Sad to say the least. HIRE an outside consultant to CHANGE EVERYTHING. Servers were fine. I would sell this place if I owned it. WINDSOR BEST WINERY WOW! That's all I can say! Everything here was absolutely amazing from the wine to the service to the food. Megan took care of us and made sure all of our needs were met. The wine recommendations were amazing and the food hit the spot. The location is a must see in itself. Located along the waterfront the view is stunning while enjoying an amazing glass. We had 2 different types of wine along with the margarita pizza and everything hit the spot. The manager was also super friendly when we went to tell them how amazing our experience was and that we will most definitely be back. You'd be a fool to miss out on this gem ! I have been to Viewpointe twice this year and both times I have had a horrid experience with an employee named Laura. She makes the entire experience extremely unpleasant. I am usually not one to complain but Laura has been so rude on multiple occasions to countless people in my group that we all refuse to return. Something needs to be done regarding her role, especially if she continues to have to deal with the public or else business will continue to be lost at this winery. read more

We had previously purchased the EPIC passport to visit a few local wineries. We enjoyed tasting a few of the wine options, ordered some mozzarella bread. Be sure to put Viewpointe on your to-do list for the summer. I can't wait to go back. They have delicious pinot noir! The coast of Lake Erie in Ontario is the closest thing Detroit has to having a wine country. There are several wineries and only about 25 minutes from the border. What makes Viewpointe unique is that while you are tasting the wine, they provide appetizers and they have a fabulous view. I really love sitting on their balcony overlooking the lake and enjoying wine and some of their yummy appetizers. My husband and I have spent the occasional Saturday in the summer on the beach (beaches are decent) , followed by wine tasting at one (or more) of the local wineries, followed by dinner on Erie Street in Windsor. This was my first time coming here. I love the atmosphere, the lake view is stunning. There were a few pros and a few cons to this experience. What I disliked very much was that I couldn't have conversations with my family and friends due to the fact that the music was wayyyy too loud. The lady singing was terrible but it could've been better if she was not singing so loud. I enjoyed when she stopped her song and it was a relief for me and my family and friends I also disliked that there was not a lot of options on the menu. This is not a huge con but I would've liked more if there were more of a variety of food on the menu. I had the macaroni with no bacon, and it didn't have any flavour. I ate the whole thing anyway since I was very hungry. The pizza was delicious I loved it sooo much. My friend had a salad and she disliked it a lot due to the fact that the dressing had no flavour and it felt like she was eating leaves. I enjoyed the food platter but I did not enjoy the cheese. Other then that it was pretty good. I enjoyed the fries a lot they were better than the fast food fries. The fish barely had any flavour but that's okay since I put lemon in it and made it delicious. I don't recommend coming here during fish fly season because there were wayyy to many fish flies. They were all over us. We wanted to sit indoors but they waitress said it's not allowed. A fish fly ended up in my other friend's water. And were sticking all over us. Most people had a good time, but this is not a place for kids. There are not enough food options for children and they do not like the music. The service was great, waitress was very polite. And I give this place 3 stars Do I recommend it? We had our wedding here and the manager was super unhelpful when it came to planning it. It cost a shit ton of money but the headache and stress that came with it was priceless. Horrible management. I attended a wedding here and my sister specifically said NO NUTS as She has a severe nut allergy. We seem to think they just picked the nuts out of the salad as she continued to have a severe reaction and trouble breathing and has to drive to the closest drug mart to get a benadryl and/or an Epi Pen. I visited this winery last week and was very disappointed. It was a hit sunny day and we so wanted to sit outside over looking the lake. If all the tables that were outside to sit at there was only one table with an umbrella. We asked if we could have an umbrella for our table and was told they only have one as the others had been damaged several weeks ago. Apparently they are not in a big hurry to replace them. We didn't stay for lunch and did find several other wineries that have outdoor dining with lots of umbrellas. Very disappointed in this winery. read more
