We met the winemakers at both vineyards, listened to their very interesting history and about their processes, and tasted a few wines at each. Back to downtown Montreal after a little traffic by 6PM. We saw PLENTY in the half-day tour--wonderful trip--try and get Gail--she's a hoot. Highly recommend.

The crowd in my car became kind of antsy and the micro brewery sign was my only hope to calm down the grown up kids. We decided to taste the three beers offered by the microbrewery, which came with complimentary pumpkin seeds, the beers are wonderful and La 31 brew is pumpkin based. Our little snack were snails prepared in delicata squash and garnished with pumpkin chips, absolutely outstanding dish. The bistro has a terrace with nice views of the surrounding farms. * store offering the very same beers and wines, which you can actually taste there * and last, but not least, pumpkin market! All the incredible pumpkins and squashes available for us to pick and choose. They have signs describing the different sorts, so the buyers can actually plan their next potential culinary experiment. In case you have too many pumpkins you can transport them with a construction trolley to your car. No doubt Les Vents d'Ange is a perfect place to stop by after apple picking in the area for whatever you feel like, good food and drinks, or just a pumpkin or two.

She told us abitt about the different wines but other then that she didn't give us much more information. We decided to go with the wine sampler option because unfortunately there wasn't any other option available like a vineyard tour. They didn't seem to have food that we could have maybe paired with our wine sampler or maybe they did but we weren't informed, so I suggest that if you haven't bought the packages available on the website in advance to eat before going there. The vineyard is pretty big. They had alot of seating areas all over and they also had an upstairs patio. They have 8 different wines when you can sample from, my favorite was the swenson white. If you wanted to purchase a bottle, it ranged between 20$ to 25$

We took about three hours because he made a point of showing us some classic Montreal native spots such as an immense farmers market filled with luscious locally grow produce. If we were staying long enough to cook, I'd be heading straight back there tomorrow . Frederick is a certified guide and while his knowledge is near encyclopedic, he never drones. He always invites questions and made us laugh a lot. Ask him how poutine got its name. He created a perfect blend of peddling and savoring He spaced out our rest stops in such a way that we were never bored with resting and nor fatigued with pedaling.

Parking however is a bit confusing as there is an area to park but no lines anywhere to guide you in. Therefore everyone just parks randomly. You can however park on the road up to the vineyard which isn't much of a walk. Once you get there, you can either choose to get a bottle of wine and sit on the terrace or do an individual wine tasting of five different types of wines with a cheese platter. You also end up getting two free glasses. The walk through the vineyard was very nice, it's massive so don't stray too far. The fruits were already harvested but it was still nice to walk through. I'd recommend you try this place if you're in the West Island and craving from some cheese and wine with beautiful scenery.

You have a choice of entrees but they automatically bring you a complimentary Mimosa that is very sweet & you cannot really taste the champagne, a selection of mini pastries to start, a basket of bread with your entree, and a little dessert of mini cream puffs. We ordered the smoked salmon with beets appetizer and some bloody Mary's to go with it. The salmon was excellent & the BM's were decent. This was the best part of the meal! We both got the Terroir omelette which consisted of ham, cheese and asparagus. It was served with sausage, bacon & potatoes. The omelette was a bit overcooked & dry & the entire dish was so-so. We went to the upper deck to get some fresh air & take in the view. They had a girl on a mic sharing information as we went along but the tour itself was average & not very long. The ride itself is a good way to learn about Montreal, with the tour guide speaking from a microphone on the top deck, which is shaded but open. Loudspeakers are throughout the second deck, which is enclosed in windows and reasonably air conditioned. The tour guide did our ride in both English and French. Don't expect as much of a "ride" although you do move down the river a bit, passing by La Ronde and seeing just how big the Port of Montreal actually is. But you'll start right by where the boat is normally docked, sorta "treading water" for at least half an hour because all the interesting bits of Montreal are right there. The wait staff are attentive, and do well at service given the size of the boat and the number of people. However, the drinks are somewhat watered down, at least the ice melted so fast on this hot day (36C) that it seemed that way. But they have a basic beer and wine selection, and so I'd recommend enjoying a beverage while on the tour. What I do NOT recommend is getting any food. It is very overpriced and not at all worth it. You are better off eating before or after your excursion. We ordered the $21 charcuterie board, which sounded like a good sharable spread of meats and cheeses. You actually get a small portion of some salami, prosciutto, and a minced meat of some kind, and then a small amount of 3-4 cheeses, just a slice each. The two slices of baguette must have been sliced 5-6 days ago, as they were harder than the board the food came on. The redemption of this dish was only the onion confit. The rest you could assemble a better quality spread from a gas station convenience store.
