After my needle biopsy showed a positive reading naturally I was very nervous. I got in to see Dr. Shifrin within a week of the biopsy results to come up with a game plan. I'm on blood thinners so it makes for a complicated case. He did another ultrasound on it to confirm the size and he thought its in my best interest to remove the whole thing instead of half bc if the surgical biopsy came back positive then I would have to go back in and remove the other side. With me being on blood thinners for life it would be dangerous to stop again so that's what we did. Leading up to the day of surgery I kept in contact with Amy C who coordinated all my visits and paperwork. She was awesome! She took all my nervous calls and calmed me down every time. Post surgery I was swelling up pretty good so I reached out to Amy who then connected my with Tara the PA. She got right back to me in between their scheduled surgeries and saw me to look at the swelling. She and Dr. Shifrin both met up with me and did another ultrasound to make sure there was no fluid build up in my neck. After they saw me they went back to their next scheduled surgery. Tara followed up with me for the next couple of days to see how I was doing. The pathology report came in within a week and it was positive for papillary cancer. Tara called me again to go over it and was very compassionate and calmed me down. I just had my 2 week follow up with both Dr. Shifrin and PA Tara Corrigan and they were pleased to tell me that all the cancer was removed and I'm free of it now. My family and I thank everyone there for walking with us through this tough scary journey. If you're shopping around for a thyroid surgeon and happened on this review please take my word and come see them. You wont regret it!

He spoke to me about 5 minutes and I felt like he treated me like a product in an assembly line. Night and day from Dr. Cherciu. Also beware they charged me 90 dollars to get my medical records. My new doctor never heard of this. The most they charge for a physical copy is 10 dollars.

So, they give you one of these Dr's to make sure your body is running like a well oiled engine. Dr. Brouder happens to be the lucky Dr that got me for a patient. I kinda felt bad for him because I am not the easiest of patients when under stress and I always have a gazillion questions, posed in different ways so that I "GET" what is being said. Dr. Brouder visited me in the hospital and right away he out me at ease, he was very nice, went over all the things that needed to be checked, tests I was going to have and really had a nice soft understanding nature about him. I liked it, because he also took my family into consideration and made it so that family understood what was going on as well. I had a follow-up appointment with him after I was out of the hospital and that was also a very easy going relaxed experience. His staff is very professional, friendly and polite, great front office staff as well as back of the house crew, my great appreciation. Obviously, I will be having more future visits to this office and I can honestly say, I am not dreading it, because the staff as a whole, treats you as a person and patient, not a number or a dollar sign, you may have to wait a bit in the lobby when it comes to appointment times, but sometimes some appointments take longer that are ahead of you, so I was cool with that since I didn't feel rushed once it was my turn.
