It is NOT a luxury all-inclusive self-contained resort where one might go, and stay in. I don't know why they called themselves a resort. It is not. My fellow tour group members say it look like a Motel 6 (USA reference). The lobby looks good. The outdoor pool looks good from a distance. The surrounding borders are falling apart. Walking into our room, it is very dated and clearly has not been updated for a long time. That microwave has analog turn dials; the last time I saw one like that was with my elderly in-laws, when they were still working, over twenty years ago. A random extra bed is in the room, which they retrieved. The furniture is old and with a sagging mattress, visible in the photo. The bathroom is outdated with an after-market update of rain-shower. Hey, at least the TV is flat screen, not a CRT. The morning breakfast was a highlight with good varieties and good fruits though the coffee was watery. Our group was out sightseeing away from the room from 8:30am to nearly 4pm. The room was still not cleaned when we return. The front desk took us that is normal, that they start at some other part before reaching our area. Our tour manager gave them an earful, and they confessed they are short on staff. But we were pleasantly surprised. Our unit looks just like the picture. Modern features. Roomy, airy with a private balcony. The unit that we are in, the Wi-Fi is spotty and there is no clothes dryer. But that appears to be common here. I am learning to use the clothes drying rack. The people in the reception area, Maria and Dimitri are very nice. And even though there is a language barrier, we all try to communicate.

Although this is supposed to be a 5-star hotel, there was no iron provided, and the hangers were of such poor quality that they almost ruined my silk dress. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience. One more important note: My nephew's shoes were stolen while we were at the hotel's private beach. Please be extra cautious with your belongings. Keep your door locked at all times, and I would advise against requesting housekeeping during your stay.

The food in the main restaurant is good and a wide range of food which changes daily. If you are having dinner prepare yourself to the weird way to order and receiving drinks, from our experience it normally involved three or four staff members.

Anyway, the hostel was cold! Not literally but in the cool kind of way, like, yo, that's cold. Which is interesting because cool/cold have similar meanings in both respects, so, whoever came up with that one, my hat is off to them (I also enjoy that expression). I spent most of the weekend figuring why they call the hostel this name and I finally found out it has something to do with a rooster waking up. I would have called this place 'good morning cock' to reduce any sort of confusion. I digress (I think), I liked most of the people here, except for, well, nobody, except, I didn't feel like going back to delete the earlier part of the sentence. I'm listening to Toosie Slide while I write this and I would really like the know what that means too (it might have something to do with Drake being Canadian - I think they call Canadians 'Toosies' but literally don't quote me). Our bags were taken to our room and we were given basic info and welcome glasses of champagne. Our room was gorgeous, with a bathtub, shower, toilet room, jack and Jill sinks and a large king bed. The TV was great for casting music as well. The mini bar came stocked and was included in our all inclusive package. The food at the main restaurant for dinner was great, much better than you'd typically expect at an all inclusive buffet. The chef spoke to me briefly and he's wonderful. The pools are a little confusing as there are technically 3, but all are labeled around the building as Pool, so I ended up at the bean/kid pool several times on accident. Poolside drink and snack service is available but if you're hungry you can eat at the pool side restaurant which is nearby the main pool. The resort also has direct beach access. There are some sports courts, a gym and free exercise programming, along with fun and inclusive programming like fado dinner, cooking classes and kids art classes. Drinks here are great and another highlight of the resort. There are water refill areas throughout the resort which are very handy. This resort also has one meeting room space for events and can seat up to 230 and has lots of natural light. The front desk staff can arrange taxi rides for you but the car service is not directly associated with the hotel. This hotel is also an IHG property, so you can earn rewards during your stay.
