I live in Montreuil not far from this restaurant. This is the second time I have eaten here, the first was 2 years ago. I just want to be clear, i understand that bad reviews can directly affect the business of a restaurant and I did a lot of reflection before posting this. But in the end I decided that it was best to tell the truth about my experience. Location: Villa 9 trois is located in Montreuil which some describe as the Brooklyn of Paris. Specifically the location is directly across the street from an HLM, a low cost housing complex, so the contrast is striking. For some this is a dealbreaker, for me it is not a problem, I like the juxtaposition. Setting: The restaurant occupies a large piece of land with a house and gardens surrounding. There is a vegetable garden and a chicken coop nearby. There is a large terrace with a sunshade covering the main terrace. For a Michelin star gastronomic restaurant I was disappointed about the attention to detail. The sunshade was very dirty, there were fallen leaves all over the terrace, I saw spiderwebs on the chairs and the tablecloths had multiple wrinkles. Service: the staff seem to be interns and are at least trying to do a good job, but it was obvious they were students. Food: it was a warm summer day and there were no starters available for lunch, only main courses and dessert. The 2 glasses of rose arrived warm and we had to ask for ice. The food ordered was satisfactory and in a regular cafe with normal prices they would of been received with no complaint. But in a gastronomic restaurant with a Michelin star they were disappointing. Conclusion: I struggle to understand how this restaurant continues to have a favorable Michelin rating and stay in business. I did notice that 2 years ago they were recommended by fooding, but not anymore. I really wanted to like this restaurant and support a local business but unfortunately I cannot. read more
